14+ years in martial arts: Chen Tai Chi

Tai Chi Chuan is a personal favorite of mine which I have devoted over 5 + years of study to, in addition to multiple styles of Kung Fu. If you want to learn the original form of Tai Chi direct from Chen Village (in a traditional manner) then you have found your instructor.

Daniel was very knowledgeable, very patient with my 9 year old and taught at her pace. The environment was clean and quiet and conducive for learning. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would recommend to anyone!

I teach traditional Yang style taijiquan, as well as Moving For Better Balance (MFBB), which are modified Yang tai chi exercises intended to help older adults improve their balance and reduce their risk of falls. I am a certified MFBB faculty trainer, also, so I can help MFBB teachers improve their teaching skills.

I have attended Sensei Morris' Wednesday Dharma talks in DeLand for over a year and it had been a truly enriching experience. His broad knowledge of Buddhism and meditation is effectively conveyed through his superb communication skills. Further, his approach to and understanding of the Dharma as a Westerner offers a bridge to fledgling Buddhists such as myself who get lost in esoteric discourse. If you are looking to expand your mindfulness, he is a marvelous teacher.

Tai Chi is a form of “moving meditation” practiced with slow, relaxed, and flowing movements. Improve muscle tone, circulation and physical endurance with meditative postures that strengthen your mental focus. I teach Chen and Yang Tai Chi. All levels are welcome.

Did an excellent job explaining the movements. Made sure not to exceed the student's capabilities.

I have been taking Liam's Tai Chi/ Qi Gong class for nearly two years now. He is a dynamic teacher that is sensitive to different types of learning paces and styles (both eastern and western) and employs both in his classes. His explanations are simple and he always relates the movement back to its origin as a martial arts defense/offensive move which helps one establish the intention behind the movement. I have learned yang short form and chen style short form from him. I would highly recommend that you take his class if you are interested in beginning or continuing a tai chi practice. Through my practice I have found a healthy way to manage stress and anxiety.

Our focus will initially be on learning Qi Gong and the Tai Chi Yang Long form. This is not the tournament form popularized by many Wu Shu organizations. This is a traditional Yang Style that is focused on proper body mechanics and practical application. As you progress we move into Push Hands and the practice of application.
