About Krista
Hello! Thanks for checking out my page! My name is Krista, and I'm a musical theatre actress and teacher. I grew up in Renton and attended the University of Washington, where I earned my BA in Theatre and a minor in Education. Since then, I have gone on to perform in many of Seattle's best theatres, including Seattle Musical Theatre, Lyric Light Opera, At the Ridge Theatre, Second Story Repertory, and The 5th Avenue. I love performing and believe that there is nothing like being onstage and making an audience feel something through your performance!

I have been teaching for many years at various theatre intensives and summer camps and currently teach dance, acting, and voice at two schools in the Renton area. I love people and love interacting with all ages! It is a joy to be able to pass on skills that bring me so much happines
s to those who are younger or just entering the exciting world of performance! I especially enjoy doing one-on-one audition prep to make sure that that monologue or song you are going to try out with is in solid shape!

Please contact me to let me know what kind of training you are looking for (whether it be a focus on dance, audition prep, voice, etc.), and we can talk about what our lessons would entail and how I could help to best meet your interests. Looking forward to hearing from you!

She was really great, we have only had one lesson so far but she made me feel very comfortable and I feel like she will be perfect for me helping me get over my stage fright. She came up with quite a few ideas up front and can tell she is taking it seriously, which makes me even more confident in her because it is such a serious issue for me. I am looking forward to working with her.

As an older person who never had ballet lesson, this could have been a very intimidating experience but Teresa was very patient and thoughtful about her instruction. She really wanted to be certain I understood the terms, technique and overall format of ballet. A great experience! I look forward to my next lesson!

About Joshua
I am a tutor who earned a music teaching degree and didn't want to be a school teacher. I worked professional jobs in retail and tech sales and have come back to teaching.

Whatever subject or instrument I teach, I always make sure to work with the student first. I enjoy helping learners have new aha moments.

The majority of my students take guitar, bass guitar, or Spanish lessons, though I am an educator and help my students learn other skills and knowledge sets too.

I went to Ohio State University for college, earned a BA in Music Education, and graduated Kum Laude. I also spent 4 years in the Ohio State University Marching Band, partially to rehab a brain injury.

Through my healing journey, I've developed patience, insight, and understanding for my students' learning processes.

Practice is a must in order to develop the n
ecessary skills that demonstrate learning.

I'm excited to help you incorporate new skills into your life!

In search of helping our 10 year old son build some self-confidence we sought out clarinet lessons this summer. He started playing in school last year, and it was something our reluctant son liked "enough" to want to build up some competency. Joshua has been amazing! He finds just the right amount of challenge to encourage my son to practice, but not get discouraged. My son looks forward to his lesson each week and told me that he isn't even sure he wants to switch to saxophone next year because he is having so much fun playing the clarinet. Joshua is amazing with children, and has spent time getting to know our kiddo and find out what will work best for him. Patient, calm, and inspiring--very talented instructor.

Joshua Blatman is a fantastic music teacher. He has a great resume, is experienced in a variety of instruments, and a solid background in teaching.
I think any kids lucky enough to learn music from Joshua will have fun and hopefully fall in love with learning it, just like my kids have.

I whole-heartedly recommend Joshua for anyone of any age and any skill level who wants to enrich their life learning guitar. I appreciate the fact that he makes the time and has the patience to adapt to my needs. Joshua is flexible in scheduling - especially for those unforeseen incidents - which is appreciated.

Being an adult beginner with music lessons, Joshua eases my frustration on immediately wanting to play perfect notes and chords. I look forward to continuing lessons.

About Ian
Hi, I'm Ian, a 23 year old music major who just completed his B.A. At Hunter College. I try and play as many instruments as possible to expand my musical repertoire, but I am the most well versed in violin and guitar. I've been playing violin for 14 years and guitar for 9. I am involved in a number of musical projects and bands including my own, Cicero & the Orations. I also have a good knowledge of theory and have taken all but two of Hunters offered theory classes. I am currently a lessons instructor at a corporate site but I am always looking to teach music, since it's what I want to do with my life. I am quite patient with students and am always looking to take as much time as is needed for the student to learn whatever will better them.

Ian's patience and knowledge of many types of music is awesome! He takes a very empathetic approach to teaching; he tailors what knowledge he shares and what instructional techniques he employs based on my learning style and past experiences. If your looking for a kind, down to earth teacher who's not elitist when it comes to teaching anything from classical violin to rock guitar, Ian's the guy.

About Joshua
Hi, there! My name is Joshua and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching martial art private lessons since 2005 and have loved helping my students learn who they are, practice and learn an effective martial art, and change their lives.

Founded in 1947, Kajukenbo means KARATE, JUDO/JU-JITSU, KENPO, CHINESE BOXING.

I am a 3rd generation Kajukenbo Black Belt and a 2nd generation Ramos Black Belt. I am a 2010 World Champion in tournament point fighting and have won countless awards. I am a professional tournament referee for forms and fighting. I teach Kajukenbo with a twist of Wing Chun and Gung-Fu and basic escrima (stick fighting).

The best part about teaching martial arts, in my opinion, is helping another find who they are, what they can accomplish, breaking limitations, and confidence.

I'm an energetic and goal-
orientated person and my teaching style is direct, adaptable, and fun. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

As a lifelong student myself, I'm very excited to join the 'TakeLessons' team and offer my knowledge and skills. I have been teaching in some capacity for over ten years now with experience ranging from swim instructor/coach to teaching English as a foreign language. My students come from all different backgrounds, and I have taught a wide variety of ages including those with special needs.

Although my academic strengths are in English and History, I am currently in the process of earning a second degree in Geoscience and am comfortable teaching basic STEM. I hope to advance this level in the future.

I can teach swimming to those with no experience up to the advanced levels and have an American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding/CPR/AED and a Lifeguard Instructor Certification.

I have a deep love of teaching and look for

About A L
A L is a Pagan model and performing artist, with a passion for dance, creating lasting art, live performance and entertainment. Her performance experience goes all the way back to when she was 7 years old and began twirling baton in parades and cheering for the local football clinic. A L has been a practicing eclectic pagan for 11 years and has been studying the occult since she was 13 years old. She plans to have a shop one day where she can continue her meditation classes, tarot readings and spiritual cleansings and expand further into the healing arts.

A L has always loved dance. Growing up, she was influenced by major Hollywood dance films and dance competition shows. In 2015, during a transformative time in her life, A L fell in love with the pole and found herself engrossed in the performance aspect. Her journey lead her to a chang
e of life and she lost 50 lbs, and despite being an athlete throughout school, became the fittest she had ever been. After two years as a performing artist and dancer, she became determined to help others realize their fitness goals while having fun and expressing themselves through dance. She now teaches pole fitness and dance, specializing in burlesque style movements. .

A L performs at local gigs, spreading the beauty of and (hopefully) helping to de-stigmatize pole dance. A L is expanding her knowledge of aerial arts to include aerial hoop, silks, and even acro yoga. "One of my deepest passions is dance." A L enjoys burlesque, pole, swing, tango, waltz, broadway, paso doble, foxtrot and more. As a child, A L's least favorite style of dance was contemporary. However, as her pole dancing career has evolved, she finds herself drawn to the expressiveness of the style. A L plans to compete at Pole Con 2018.
