Write a ReviewMy 10 year Tai Chi journey found Ron after experiencing classes with several different Tai Chi instructors. The consistency of his classes is only one reason I am still studying with Ron. His commitment to furthering his knowledge and expertise is evident and he passes that along to his students. His classes are layered to benefit the novice as well as the more experienced student. Ron’s passion and attention to detail makes this the perfect place to begin or continue your Tai Chi journey.
+ Read MoreI’ve been training with Master Ron for several months. As a 60 year old physician I’ve had many professors and mentors who have shaped my life. Ron has a spot right up there with the best of them. Great instructors are not just great communicators - it’s a given that they can explain what you need to know. What makes Ron different is he is a great listener - even better he listens with not just his ears but his eyes and his gut. He can tell when you are struggling even if you don’t realize it and gently guides you past it. He rejoices in your victories no matter how small and encourages you in your battles with certain moves. Although he is very gifted he is very humble. He is very Zen. He believes in living in the moment with what you are capable of now but always wants you to strive to improve. If you are looking for an instructor you can’t do better than Master Ron.
+ Read MoreRon is an excellent instructor, very positive and encouraging and I look forward to my tai chi classes. I have noticed improved balance, strength and endurance since starting tai chi and would encourage anyone to give it a go!
My experience with Ron Pfeiffer has been that he is an excellent teacher. I started in Beginner's Class at U.W. Parkside learning Tai Chi for Beginners' and later Tai Chi for Energy. He is friendly and yet detailed in his approach. He works with each student & improves their for forms. He has more Teaching Certificates than anyone I know and yet always goes back to the basics. I have earned two Teaching Certificates : Tai Chi for Energy and Tai Chi for Diabetes. I've worked to improve Yang 24 Form by attending classes in Burlington, WI. I talk classes weekly with Mr. Pfeiffer at the Moose Lodge & Senior Center in Kenosha, WI. I he is not available, classes go on with other Senior Students from his dojo in Burlington, WI. He is a teacher with a wealth of knowledge and I would recommend him to friends and family of all ages.
+ Read MoreI have been a student of Ron's for 3 years. At 70 I have felt an increase in my flexibility and balance. Ron is dedicated to Tai Chi and to his students. He is encouraging every step of the way when teaching the various forms.
Ron is a great teacher. I have been studying with him for about six months. He has worked me through the 24 forms and now the 73 forms. He is patient, encouraging, and detailed in his instruction. I really enjoy his lessons and strongly recommend him as an instructor.
+ Read MoreI love that Master Ron says that my clunky awkward Tai Chi isn't wrong - its just my Tai Chi. And my Tai Chi in 3 months may be better or worse than my Tai Chi today - but it's still my Tai Chi.
I have been a student of Ron's since 2011. I am learning both Kenpo Karate and Tai Chi. Ron is very knowledgeable in both venues and is passionate about the health aspects of each. He is a great teacher - caring and disciplined.
I am a new student and Ron Pfeiffer is my instructor.
I am so excited that I made the decision to join.
I joined because I wanted to learn how to reduce chronic pain without the use of opioids. I highly recommend that everyone learn about the healing benefits of Tai Chi & Qigong.
Ron is very passionate about helping everyone enhance their overall well-being. All the other students are warm and engaging. Great environment ; no judgement.
There are other Tai Chi Studios but only one Ron Pfeiffer. Why settle for the rest when you can experience the very best at Midwest Tai Chi.
In the past I experienced Tai Chi by someone in another state whom was not Certified and didn't know what they were doing. It was not a good experience for me. Stay away from people whom are not certified and properly trained!
Which is why I praise Ron because he is professional, certified and his training has impacted my health very positively. I am learning about proper balance, deep breathing techniques, mindfulness, clarity and focus. My sleep is also improving. Which is an added benefit that will help me to continue to heal.
Sifu Ron Pfeiffer is an excellent instructor. He has a methodology of teaching that transcends and enhances the Art itself. He is patient with his students, explains the movements and walks through the forms with you. I have studied with him for a year and a half and have obtained two teaching certificates under his tutelage, He raises the bar in each class & emphasizes practice, practice and practice.
+ Read MoreI have been taking lessons from Ron Pfieffer for five years. I began lessons while recuperating from back surgery. Having just retired I knew I had to do something to keep active. I found his beginning lesson easy and with Ron's method of teaching engaging, positive and very encouraging. I knew by the 2nd week it was a good decision and knew Tai Chi was going to be the answer for me. I has greatly increased my flexibility and balance. Ron's depth of knowledge in Tai Chi include not only Sun but Yang Chen and Qi Gong . I look forward to studying with him for a long time to come. He works well with all ages of students and has a vast knowledge of martial arts which includes a 8th degree black belt in Kempo Karate. Ron is an outstanding instructor and great communicator.
+ Read MoreExcellent fisrt lesson! Ron is patient amd moves at a pace that is easy to follow. I like that he seems to live the essence of Tai Chi - he is not just teaching the forms.
I recommend highly.
I have been taking Ron's class for 4 months now. He is very patient and explains things very well. He also answers all my questions. Thanks so much.
Great first lesson
I have been working with Ron for over two years now. I originally meet him through a world tai-chi day he had hosted. I saw him perform the Yang 24 form and thought instantly that this was the guy i wanted to learn from. I have never changed that initial opinion. He is the most skilled and knowledgeable instructor ihave ever met and i don't expect that to change either. You will not be disappointed in any lesson you get from him.
+ Read MoreRon has shown me the benefits of Tai Chi and its application to daily living for your health and spirituality. I have tried exercise classes over the years but they bore me. Tai Chi has been a refreshing change and I rarely miss a class unless I have a conflict with business. Ron is gentle, unassuming and the relaxed atmosphere is very enjoyable. My mantra now is "no pain, no pain".
+ Read MoreI have had the opportunity to be part of Ron's Tia Chi classes @ the Kenosha Senior Center since January of this year. I have enjoyed his patience, knowledge and humor very much. He takes the time to break the moves down so that we can grasp the moves and understand the meaning behind them. I hope to be able to enjoy many more classes and to continue improving on my Tia Chi & Qigong.

I have attended Ron's school since 2008, and it has brought about great improvement in both my physical health and personal life. The staff is supportive, well-trained, and caring. The students come from all walks of life, some young and some older, some very fit and others overcoming serious health challenges. Everyone is welcome here, and we have lots of laughs while working very hard to better ourselves. I have attended many Tai Chi schools, workshops, and classes, but none of them compare to the enjoyment and benefit that I gain from regular attendance at Midwest Tai Chi & Self Defense.
+ Read MoreI feel so lucky to have found Ron. Living in Wisconsin I thought I would never get a chance to become a certified Tai Chi instructor. Ron is such a great teacher. He puts everyone at ease and makes learning Tai Chi fun. I will always keep an eye on what he is offering at his studio.
Nancy , Tai Chi and Qigong Instructor
My husband and I have taken lessons from Ron for about 5 or 6 years. He is the greatest coach, patient and a great motivator. Learn at your own pace, no pressure, very patient. Highly recommended.

I have trained under Coach Ron through his online instructional videos for close to 5 years. I really enjoy it! I am able to watch the videos and practice as much as I need to. Absolutely no pressure. The videos are put together well and Coach Ron guides you through the different techniques.
