Baduanjin Qigong From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Taught as it was taught to me by my Chinese Master while visiting Hanfi Health and Fitness Center, Ningbo. The Baduanjin qigong(八段錦) is one of the most common forms of Chinese qigong used as exercise. Variously translated as Eight Pieces of Brocade, Eight-Section Brocade, Eight Silken Movements or Eight Silk Weaving, the name of the form generally refers to how the eight individual movements of the form characterize and impart a silken quality (like that of a piece of brocade) to the body and its energy. The Baduanjin is primarily designated as a form of medical qigong, meant to improve health. This is in contrast to religious or martial forms of qigong. However, this categorization does not preclude the form's use by martial artists as a supplementary exercise, and this practice is frequent quite common.

I've worked with Ron on the International Medical Tai Chi and Qigong Association, and I must say that he is absolutely terrific! His passion for the art is phenomenal, and his thinking process is very insightful. He is a fabulous Tai Chi teacher and I would highly recommend him.

Over the years I have had a number of instructors and Master Ron is by far the best. His knowledge of Tai Chi and martial aspects of the form is outstanding and I am proud to be his student. The technique applied when he is teaching is relaxed, strengthens the mind and body when learning the traditional forms of Tai Chi Chuan. The theory behind the forms is an aspect of Tai Chi I was not familiar with and over the past few months I have learnt more about the connection between the body, the mind and the forms than I have in the number of years I have trained. If you are looking for an instructor who is knowledgeable, approachable and passionate I would strongly recommend Master Ron.

I have been having private lessons with Ron for 18 months or so now and I cannot recommend Ron enough. He is an excellent Master Instructor, with an immense amount of knowledge and experience. The teaching environment is relaxed and friendly and yet hard working; building strength and agility in both body and mind as well as learning the traditional Tai Chi Chuan forms.
