For more information select Tai Chi from subjects list. Baduanjin Qigong From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Taught as it was taught to me by my Chinese Master while visiting Hanfi Health and Fitness Center, Ningbo. The Baduanjin qigong(八段錦) is one of the most common forms of Chinese qigong used as exercise. Variously translated as Eight Pieces of Brocade, Eight-Section Brocade, Eight Silken Movements or Eight Silk Weaving, the name of the form generally refers to how the eight individual movements of the form characterize and impart a silken quality (like that of a piece of brocade) to the body and its energy. The Baduanjin is primarily designated as a form of medical qigong, meant to improve health. This is in contrast to religious or martial forms of qigong. However, this categorization does not preclude the form's use by martial artists as a supplementary exercise, and this practice is frequent quite common.

I was nervous about having private lessons, however Ron put me at ease straight away. He is a knowledgeable and attentive teacher. I am being pushed to my limit but he is supportive the entire way. I highly recommend.

I've been taking lessons with Ron for several weeks now and feel really fortunate to have come across him. He does an amazing job of breaking down all of the motions into well narrated steps, and is highly skilled. The ability to engage someone of his caliber through a format like Zoom is really a luxury. Ron is very personable and talking with him throughout the lessons has been a real pleasure. I'd characterize his teaching approach as patient and encouraging. I've seen some improvement already, and I'm looking forward to the comfort that will come with more training. I would definitely recommend Ron to anyone who is interested in learning Tai Chi!

In addition, here at The CMA, we are totally dedicated to representing "the professional face of complementary medicine" and by promoting research, education and knowledge in the field, we will help to stimulate demand for the medicine of the 21st century and beyond. The CMA is great news for professional practitioners, ethical colleges and patients who demand and expect excellence in every aspect of treatment.
