Ron is an excellent and attentive teacher. He is very attuned to his students abilities, health constrains and inspirations. Ron knows how to make me move forward without clanging me too much and at the same time to achieve a progress. I am looking toward our lessons every week with the expectation to learn something new or refine my practice. Even though I started taking classed via zoom during the pandemic, these one on one instructions enabled me to make a tremendous progress in my practice. I hope to continue to learn from Ron a great more and to borrow from his bottomless optimism: we all need some positivity in our lives during these challenging times. Ron, many thanks for everything!

I wholeheartedly recommend taking classes with Ron. I think of his classes as Tai Chi 360. He covers all of the bases from learning the actual form, to health benefits, to breathing, to how the energy is moving, to the philosophy, to the martial aspects, everything. He is responsive and open to all questions. Even though I've been taking strictly online classes, Ron manages to make you feel like you're part of a Tai Chi community with the other students.

Learning the forms can be a real challenge for me because of my limited success in being able to watch a mirror image and do it myself and the problem of remembering the movements. But Ron is very patient when showing the movements and he gives great verbal cues.

Don't hesitate to join because you are a beginner or think you are too advanced. All levels are addressed, no just teaching to the lowest common denominator.

Sign up - this is a great chance to really learn Tai Chi!

Ron is an excellent teacher. He says that you learn Tai Chi in layers. He begins by teaching the broad outlines of a form. Then he starts drilling down on the particulars, continually challenging you to improve your skills and techniques in all forms. I always feel safe and supported as I gain valuable knowledge and feedback during my lessons.

Many people can feel apprehensive and nervous at the thought of taking a private lesson of any type. Some questions might be: Will I be judged? Will I be asked to demonstrate things I’m not sure of and make a fool of myself? Will the teacher be impatient with me if I’m a slow learner? Let me reassure you that when you take lessons with Ron, none of these things will happen.

Ron puts you at ease as soon as the first lesson starts. The lessons are organic and develop at your pace and according to your needs in a relaxed but informative and detailed way. Ron is very empathic and intuitive . I like to reflect on what I have learned after each lesson and in doing so I can very often see that, without me realising at the time, he had been very skilfully guiding me towards what I wanted, or needed, to learn that day.

I would also like to mention that if you have any physical limitations, please do not feel excluded from the wonderful world of Tai Chi. It’s open to all so please talk to Ron if you need advice in that direction.

Tai Chi is lifelong learning. Whatever your age, experience or ability, Ron will calmly and expertly give you the knowledge to help you develop your Tai Chi in YOUR personal time and place.

Ron has decades of knowledge and mountains of patience. He lets me learn at my own pace and is always very encouraging. Ron is great at explaining how to properly perform every movement as well as explaining why it is important to perform each movement properly to get the full benefits of Tai Chi.

Ron's teaching style is remarkable. I find he has, not only the skill, but the patience to work with people (like me) who are completely lost at times. He's laid a good foundation for me and we're working on putting up a few wall frames. He has been a great encourager and I look forward to years of improvement with him.

I can highly recommend Ron Pfeiffer as an excellent Tai Chi Chuan and Medical Qi Gong instructor.
His passion for Martial Arts is immense and comes through in his method of teaching.
I have been taking online private lessons with Ron for nearly a year now and my own practice has improved immensely and is now completely different to when i first started. Now i feel i am practicing a Martial Art exercise rather than than just movement.
Ron has not only helped with my practice but also has helped me enormously with confidence and self belief.
If you are thinking of taking lessons with Ron, Stop thinking and just do it. It will be the best decision for you.

I had been doing Tai Chi and Qigong for several years before I attended an Instructor Training weekend course with Ron and other members of International Tai Chi Alliance in March of 2020. There I discovered how little I actually understood about Tai Chi as a Martial Art. Just days later, COVID-19 made in-person training impossible. Ron and his business partner Master Linda Arksey, offered intensive online training seminars for instructors including courses on Medical Qigong, the 8 Extraordinary Meridians, the Yang 8 and Yang 10 Forms. Through this course work and teaching practice I gained a deep understanding of how and why Tai Chi and Qigong benefits one physically, mentally and emotionally. I have an autoimmune form of arthritis and it's not hyperbole to say this practice has changed my life. For almost a year, I've also been having weekly private lessons with Ron. He is an excellent instructor and he provides the support and guidance needed to improve my Tai Chi practice and my confidence as I lead my own classes. Ron is a first-rate instructor and I highly recommend training with ITCA.

I am a physiotherapist and I work for NHS in England. I have been learning Tai chi for over 4 years and run classes for my patients and colleagues for 3 years. I am devoted to continuous professional development (CPD) in physiotherapy therefore I was looking for teachers and a school that represent the same principles and also have the students at heart. Ron and Linda are fantastic teachers and ITCA provides a supportive environment for the eager learners. I warmly recommend their weekend courses to build confidence in your own practice and teaching skills. Should you look for private lessons the experience won’t disappoint. Ron’s teaching is fun and refreshing and it also allows you to reflect on your own practice making the tai chi journey even more enjoyable and meaningful.

Since my involvement with Ron, my Tai Chi Chuan & Qigong have gone from strength to strength. The lessons are very relaxed, structured and fun at the same time. My understanding of the forms (including the martial application), my movement and breathing have all improved immensely. The biggest benefit for me is my health, confidence and own self esteem has also improved, leaving me inspired to help my own family and keep focused on self development on my Tai Chi Journey.
Ron is the ultimate professional , highly recommend.

I'm a healthcare worker in Alabama who was looking for a way to stay active while stuck with a pretty hectic schedule and in the midst of the pandemic. I am starting to learn Tai Chi as a total beginner, and I was hesitant about online lessons at first. But, luckily, you can really tell that Ron has a lot of experience teaching and is able to tailor the lessons to your level and pace. I also appreciate the fact that the various health benefits of practicing Tai Chi are sometimes highlighted during sessions as well. I am glad I decided to pick up these lessons and look forward to continuing to learn more!

I have been having online lessons with Ron for over a year now, I have learnt the Yang 32 sword and progressed onto the Chen 28 fan form. I have learnt so much from Ron not only with these 2 forms but also in his online classes with other students, learning the 13 essentials. Ron is a great Master to work with I would recommend anyone to take a lesson with him you will be hooked.

I’m currently taking private online lessons with Ron in Yang 32 Sword, and group online lessons with him in Yang 24 and Chen 18. Ron is exceptionally well qualified in tai chi and qigong and is always encouraging while still asking me to expand my limits. He manages to still maintain an interpersonal exchange in the online environment.
I have also made the trip to Burlington, WI, to attend a couple of weekend workshops with Ron in Ba Duan Jin and in Yang 10. Well worth the trip!

The instruction is clear and understandable. This week we were allowed to video Ron doing part of the form we are learning, this has prove to be of a real benefit as you can keep referring back to it and even do the form with Ron following him on screen. Excellent. Thank you

I have been training with Ron for a little over a year now and want to leave an update to help guide others looking for a phenomenal instructor. Working with Ron has been pleasant, exciting, and encouraging. I take weekly lessons with him learning Chen 18 Forms while refining the Yang 24 Forms and Ron does a tremendous job blending new instruction with refinement. He intuitively knows how much time to spend on each based on how I'm dong and what form or posture we are working on. I think I mentioned it in my first review but Ron's constant reminder of the fact that my Tai Chi is right for where I am in my learning is refreshing and helpful. If you are interested in learning more about Tai Chi Ron is an excellent choice and I highly recommend him.

As a new entrant to Tai Chi, it has been a great fortune to find Ron with the advent of the online platform. My curiosity extended beyond the pre-packaged video instructionals and youtube channels as I realized the sheer complexity in the seemingly simple and graceful movements is best uncovered with individualized instruction. As well, the sheer volume of information available these days has created the problem of info overload, so a dedicated master of the arts is helpful to guide and go deeper, not purely wider. Ron's energy and spirit is unmistakably sincere, wise, and powerful. His dedication, as not just a teacher and guide, but as a student himself is inspiring. I encourage others to experience for themselves and see beyond this written word!

Also, I find it helpful how he can relate the forms to a practical martial arts use which helps me to better understand. Master Teacher Ron Pfeiffer is a true find if you are looking for exceptionally high-quality of instruction. His depth of knowledge and experience in martial arts makes him a valuable tai chi instructor as he is able to elucidate the finer points of the forms and make your tai chi practical, as well.
His style of teaching translates well to the online medium. He keeps a sharp eye on even minute mistakes while remaining positive and encouraging, breaks down the movements, and is attentive to detail . He also has a sense of humor, which is always a welcome characteristic in a teacher.
Since he is very experienced, he can assess his students very well and knows just what level of instruction to deliver, depending on your needs.
I am enriched and feel I'm moving to a new level after every class with Ron. Very grateful for his instruction and highly recommend!

I’ve been training with Master Ron for several months. As a 60 year old physician I’ve had many professors and mentors who have shaped my life. Ron has a spot right up there with the best of them. Great instructors are not just great communicators - it’s a given that they can explain what you need to know. What makes Ron different is he is a great listener - even better he listens with not just his ears but his eyes and his gut. He can tell when you are struggling even if you don’t realize it and gently guides you past it. He rejoices in your victories no matter how small and encourages you in your battles with certain moves. Although he is very gifted he is very humble. He is very Zen. He believes in living in the moment with what you are capable of now but always wants you to strive to improve. If you are looking for an instructor you can’t do better than Master Ron.

My experience with Ron Pfeiffer has been that he is an excellent teacher. I started in Beginner's Class at U.W. Parkside learning Tai Chi for Beginners' and later Tai Chi for Energy. He is friendly and yet detailed in his approach. He works with each student & improves their for forms. He has more Teaching Certificates than anyone I know and yet always goes back to the basics. I have earned two Teaching Certificates : Tai Chi for Energy and Tai Chi for Diabetes. I've worked to improve Yang 24 Form by attending classes in Burlington, WI. I talk classes weekly with Mr. Pfeiffer at the Moose Lodge & Senior Center in Kenosha, WI. I he is not available, classes go on with other Senior Students from his dojo in Burlington, WI. I am a new student and Ron Pfeiffer is my instructor.

I am so excited that I made the decision to join.

I joined because I wanted to learn how to reduce chronic pain without the use of opioids. I highly recommend that everyone learn about the healing benefits of Tai Chi & Qigong.

Ron is very passionate about helping everyone enhance their overall well-being. All the other students are warm and engaging. Great environment ; no judgement.

There are other Tai Chi Studios but only one Ron Pfeiffer. Why settle for the rest when you can experience the very best at Midwest Tai Chi.

In the past I experienced Tai Chi by someone in another state whom was not Certified and didn't know what they were doing. It was not a good experience for me. Stay away from people whom are not certified and properly trained!

Which is why I praise Ron because he is professional, certified and his training has impacted my health very positively. I am learning about proper balance, deep breathing techniques, mindfulness, clarity and focus. My sleep is also improving. Which is an added benefit that will help me to continue to heal.

Tai Chi for Health Community
Apr 2007
The Tai Chi for Health Community (TCHC) is a professional association of United States tai chi instructors, tai chi practitioners, and health and wellness professionals who are interested in improving the quality of people’s lives through Tai Chi for Health programs. We are not a Tai Chi school. Rather, we come from many varied schools and backgrounds. Our goals are to promote tai chi health exercise and to provide tai chi health instructor support through research information, networking opportunities, educational materials, class support, and advanced training.
