**due to a lot of requests for french lessons , please if you email me with questions be as clear as possible. Only serious inquiries please
I answer everyone within 24hours

-"HELP , I'm going to France soon , I need some basic things to say"

-"I would like to be able to read books in french and have a conversation."

-"Can I be fluent in less than a year?"

Don't worry, you found the right person

Most people I've taught come to me saying "French people are rude , when we try to speak french they answer in english" or "French is so hard , I can't learn it"

Well let me tell you : THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN WITH ME

About Zach
Bonjour everyone , my name is Zach, I was born and raised in France in a small (tiny tiny) village called Galluis.

I have since then lived in Paris , Philadelphia and now New York.

He graduated from "Jean-Monnet European High-school" where I specialized in English and French Literature.

I have been teaching FRENCH and DRUMS for more than 12 years now.

About FRENCH LESSONS : ( section about DRUM LESSONS below )

Most people I've taught come to me saying "French is so hard , I will never be able to speak it" or "When I try to speak french, french people answer me in english"

--- THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN WITH ME :)

French is easy , you just need a good teacher who cares about you.
I do.

I can help you with :

• Pronunciation ( so that nobody will answer you in English )
• What to know if you go to France soon ( so
that you can know a little bit before you go )
• Basic to advanced conversation ( so you can make french friends and understand what they say )
• Train your ear
• Grammar / Vocabulary / Verbs

BUT DON'T WORRY , IT WILL BE FUN !

After the first lesson , ALL my students realize that learning french isn't scary anymore.

So : qui veut apprendre le français ?*

(*who wants to learn french?)

Section about DRUM LESSONS:

On the music side of my studies: I attended the American School of Modern Music of Paris for 3 years and moved to Philadelphia to study with Joe Morello's former student Sam Ruttenberg at the University of the Arts in 2012.

I perform as a professional jazz drummer between Europe and America.

~~Teaching Philosophy~~

IF YOU CAN SAY IT , YOU CAN PLAY IT !

•I teach beginners to advanced students , all ages and styles are welcome

I can teach you ( how to ) :

• read
• improvise
• play with other musicians
• the history of the drums
• your role as a drummer
• make music with an instrument that at first doesn't seem very musical
• swing
• latin / afro cuban grooves
• rock
• correct your grip on the sticks
and everything else you may ask... the possibilities and endless

Excellent teacher! Zach is wonderful. He is very knowledgable, patient and intelligent. I just moved from China to America, so my English is not so good. However, Zach is so kind and patient to encourage me to study French. I really enjoyed my first French lesson with Zach! And I am looking forward to continuing my lessons.

Bonjour a tous!

Dear French Students,

A native French speaker, I have been tutoring students of all levels since 2008. I was the main French and German Instructor at the San Jose Learning Center in the Silicon Valley before moving to New York.

The core of my lessons are drawn from a language book, which allows the student to work at his or her own pace during the week.

The lessons themselves are then spent reviewing previous work, as well as introducing new material in a variety of ways, all the while engaging in various forms of dialogues depending on your level.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

I hope to hear from you, meet you, and work with you!

Sincerely,
Gabrielle

About Gabrielle
A violinist is a musical knight: the round shield which once protected the heart has become a sound-resonating violin, the linear sword a bow, yet the fundamental gestures are the same. The active right directs according to linear rules, the left spirals inwards.

Dear Student,

My name is Gabrielle A. I am French, in my mid-twenties, and hold a MA in education. Simple, to the point, confident, smiling and fun, I engage quickly and well with those around me.

While teaching a standard violin apprenticeship curriculum, I approach the instrument from the perspective of movement: what qualitative gesture is at play behind a particular stroke or fingering?

Imagine playing violin according to lines of force, directions and qualities of movement between the right and the left! Musical sound, and its higher sibling tone, are born from
the qualitative interplay between right and left meeting in the human chest.
By inwardly experiencing the instrument as a threefold instrument (violin, bow and violinist) we can step away from the view that the violin is 'somewhere out there', a foreign object to be more or less painfully mastered.

I believe that as instrumentalists we ourselves are a part of the tone we produce.
I will therefore look with you at the kinesiology behind a correct posture and encourage you to experience the playing process as a circle between the violin, the bow and the violinist.

I hope to hear from you, meet you, and work with you!

Yours sincerely,
Gabrielle

Gabrielle is great at teaching my 9 year old french. She makes his lessons fun and keeps him engaged so that he always looks forward to his lessons. She does a great job engaging with the interests of her students, instead of sticking to a rigid lesson plan and losing the student. For example, quietly inserting verb conjugation and tense training into the telling of a story her student is determined to share with her. She really works with the kid's interests and gets their buy-in and engagement.

I am a native of France and have been teaching kids and adults for years.
Ranging from basic conversation to poetry and literature, I will use your favorite matters to familiarize you with French whether it is cooking, art, music, French culture... I can also assist you with all your applications, resumes and cover letters. I am willing to help my students with their French issues whether they are beginners or advanced.
As an opera singer, and a voice teacher, I also teach very specifically the French pronunciation. I coached singers' French pronunciation with operatic productions, and I love to combine the music within the language with the music itself. I also aim to help all singers and actors in freeing their natural voice thanks to the bel canto techniques.
Please note that the 30-minutes ($40) and 45-minutes ($55) lessons are available online (skype) only.

About Anna
Dear student,
Here are a few facts about me.
I am a native of France. For a part of my life I had to follow a “practical” course, and earned a degree in aerospace engineering, a profession I practiced successfully for several years at the French spatial agency. But I was eventually able to abandon the engineering profession in order to devote myself entirely to my true calling.
As an opera singer, I have been performing in places such as Cortot concert hall in Paris or Carnegie Hall in New York. I have been teaching voice for years now, to kids and adults. I have also been teaching French since my arrival in the US.
I therefore teach French diction too, to professional singers and actors.
I also enjoy teaching music initiation to the little ones (3 to 6 years old).
I would be happy to answer all the questions regarding my work.
Wa
rmly,
Anna

I met Elsa because a child I nanny for was in one of Elsa's French students and immediately after the first day she was enchanted by Elsas charm and engaging energy. Since then Elsa has started teaching me, and I have such fun speaking with her. She is very thorough and comprehensive in explaining, and keeps me feeling challenged. I am so happy to have found her and be learning French through her.

My son Nicholas (10 months old) and I have been taking French classes with Elsa since February and she is an absolutely delightful and effective French teacher. I really enjoy her classes as does my little boy. He enjoys the songs, the games, and the colors immensely and hears native French while he plays! I enjoy practicing the French I already know, learning new vocabulary and learning new games to play with my child in a language I have come to love.

Elsa is a very cheerful young lady, wonderful with Nicholas, and has a real talent for explaining French grammar and the nuances between French and English. I enjoy getting to ask her my questions and benefit from her knowledge on an adult level, just as I enjoy watching her engage with my son on his level. She is clearly very experienced in teaching young children and makes learning lots of fun for them. Anyone looking to learn French themselves and have their child begin French at an early age will really benefit from Elsa's classes.

Elsa was an amazing French instructor for my daughters. She is patient (so so patient!!) and always positive and happy. She was always perfectly on time and prepared completely for each and every lesson. Above all, she really engaged my girls with the French curriculum each week and they never complained about having their lessons. Elsa used a combination of books, songs, and online material to keep the lessons moving at pace and was brilliant at gauging when my girls needed to switch things up. She really made every lesson fun! I strongly recommend her to anyone.

This was the first foreign language I studied. I have tutored French in college and speak it whenever I have the opportunity. French can be intimidating with its complex grammar rules and intricate verb conjugations. Allow me to help you improve your understanding of French with some of the tricks of the trade that I remember from my high school days.

About Michael
When helping students, it my belief that patience and belief in the student's abilities are of utmost importance. With this in mind, I am here to guide you through your stumbling blocks and propel you to another level of understanding that makes things a lot clearer for you.

I have experience tutoring students from high school to college level. At different times in my life I acquired two bachelors degrees; one in music, the other in biochemistry. It is important for you to know that I take your education seriously but it can be interspersed with a little humor; not too much, but enough to keep things interesting.

In addition to helping students, I have worked as a professional freelance musician and as a research biochemist. Whether it be one on one or in a group setting, my experiences have taught me to be very patient, flex
ible, and accommodating, I have provided music lessons to promising young musicians in addition to training graduate students.

Whether you be a traditional high school student or a non-traditional adult student, my ultimate goal is to help you gain a better understanding of your material with patience and encouragement in a safe learning environment. Let's get you on the road to some awesome grades. I look forward to meeting you and helping you become a better student.
