Learning French in Las Vegas

Are you interested in taking French lessons in Las Vegas? Learning French can be challenging, exhilarating, and frustrating. The city of Las Vegas, however, is a wonderful place to study French and practice your language skills.

One of the best ways to master French is to supplement your tutoring sessions by taking advantage of the resources in your area. There are many wonderful cultural organizations and events to practice and expand your French language skills.

Whether you’re looking to get inspired by French cuisine or practice your pronunciation by speaking with a native, you’ll find that there are many opportunities for learning French in Las Vegas. Let’s look at a few opportunities Las Vegas offers to help hone your French-speaking skills.

French Cultural Organizations and Social Events

French Quarter in Las Vegas

French Quarter allows French students to practice the language outside of the classroom. French Quarter in Las Vegas is a cultural organization, sponsored by the French Quarter Magazine, which holds monthly social and cultural events. It also has programs in education and the arts including music, painting, theatre, fashion, and food. The group has two or more events per month in Las Vegas and the surrounding communities.

French Art, Music, and Food

If you love to immerse yourself in all things French and make new friends who share your passion of the culture and language, Las Vegas is a great place to be! Many French bands and musicians visit Las Vegas, especially during the summer festival season. Artists like Stromae, Yelle, Madeon and Gesaffelstein have performed in Las Vegas and will be returning this year.

The Paris Hotel and Casino is a fun kitschy way to visit Paris. The hotel has reproduced a half scale model of the Eiffel Tower and the outside features various Parisian landmarks. Stroll down the Rue de la Paix, visit the top of the Eiffel tower, and enjoy the sounds of a genuine French chanteuse while enjoying coffee and French pastries.

Las Vegas is also home to some of the finest dining spots in the world. As of 2009, the top five Michelin rated restaurants in Las Vegas were all French. Not only can you enjoy a delicious meal, but you can practice your conversational skills with patrons and French-speaking servers.

Alize’ is one of the top five highest rated restaurants in the country. At the restaurant, you’ll enjoy French cuisine “beyond imagination” along with the most spectacular view in Las Vegas. Bouchon, located in the Venetian, is also a great French restaurant and is the home of “America’s Best Chef” as proclaimed by Time Magazine.

Taking French lessons in Las Vegas is a great choice as the city offers plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the culture, art, and cuisine of France. So, what are you waiting for? Book your French lessons in Las Vegas with an experience instructor today.

I've taken 6 years of French, including AP (Advanced Placement) French in High School. I consider myself an average French speaker, but I am usually able to have a conversation with French people who know little English. I can catch on to French tourists who ask me for directions, and the French were able to understand me when I visited Paris. French is fun, but I wish I learned Spanish or Mandarin Chinese, as these languages are more practical to know given the widespread usage of them. Bon Chance!

About Jeff
Like many of my friends in high school not knowing what direction to take in life, I chose to take a business career path instead of one of a starving artist. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Cal State Fullerton, a Masters from UC Irvine, and have had much success working for several Fortune 500 companies. However, my love of music always surfaces. And now that I have the resources and ability to spend more time having fun and enjoying life, I choose to spend some of this time teaching and helping students find a love for music.

Music has always been an important part of my life. I've had piano lessons since 6 yrs of age and been the lead tenor in many show choir and vocal performing groups. Since 2005, I've been learning the guitar from many local Las Vegas artists ranging from lounge bands at Caesars Palace to orchestra players for t
he Cirque du Soleil.

*** Lesson Details ***
As a kid, I enjoyed playing piano but I felt that my piano lessons were more of a chore than a hobby, a routine of playing songs I did not particularly like. I make lessons fun by having my students choose the music/genre that they want to play. When they learn songs that they like, students are more engaged and interested. And because they are enjoying themselves, they develop their musical talents more quickly.

My lessons are fun but also challenging. I take you out of your comfort zone by recording lessons from time to time so that you’ll know what you sound like. I feel that the best music comes out when you play from the heart. I teach fundamentals and theory, but I encourage creativity. Each artist is unique and my job is to bring out that individual music style and give you a foundation to grow on.

From a business perspective, I’m organized, punctual, friendly, informative and easy to learn from.

Try me!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have contacts who can provide a full range of recording equipment and provide coaching assistance while recording in the studio. Your end product will be of higher quality for a lower price. We're professionals!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a guitar but would expect the student to have one or get one. I'll loan you one until you get one and I can provide some tips on where to shop.

*** Specialties ***
I enjoy R&B and jazz but can teach any style

ACADEMICS
I started out on take lessons as a music instructor, but I also teach a wide variety of academics. I do have an MBA so I can coach you well and help you ace those exams. Like my music lessons, practice makes perfect. So you'll need to study and "earn" those A+ grades.

French is my second language, but often feels as it if were the first, as I have speaking it for so many years on an everyday and professional basis. My grammar is excellent, as I learned the rules in junior high school in the Paris suburbs (grammar is an important part of French schooling). I edited a 240-page scholarly book, De La Case A La Villa (published 2014), and I gave private lessons.

About Diane
Bonjour! Hello!

I have been teaching on and off for many years, usually on a one-to-one basis; I taught teenagers and adults. I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs and I am always ready to go above and beyond the basic lesson. I try to make learning a language fun and alive, through news, stories, and songs.

My method is to provide grammar (very important in French), vocabulary, conversation, reading, and translation in every lesson, and show how important each component is to the whole. I am overjoyed when my students start conversing without need for translation - even if there are errors!

My graduate educational background is in architecture, followed by an MBA in finance. My mother tongue is English; but I learned French at the age of nine when I attended my first French school. I have a French high school
diploma (Baccalauréat) and architecture degree.
I also attended high school in Germany, in a German high school, for several years. Learning languages was a necessity in my childhood, and I love learning, even if by now it is more difficult to become fluent in a new language. I think the fact of being a lifelong learner helps me better understand my students' needs.

As an avid reader since childhood, my spelling has always been excellent, and I worked as a proofreader. I look forward to helping my students reach their language goals.

Diane is a very conscientious and competent instructor who is very easy to work with. She is especially effective because she understands both the French language and culture while having a complete understanding of English and American culture. I have had many French Instructors , all good, but none as helpful as Diane.
