I have been teach Sign Language for the Deaf for over twenty years.
I have taught it in the classroom because I have had two students who were Deaf, and I had to find a way to communicate with them so I took classes in Sign Language for the Deaf so I could communicate with Pam and Charles, and my students could communicate with them as well.
I start out by teaching my students the ABC'S, Numbers one to ten, simple phrases such as please, thank you, your welcome, the colors of the rainbow and simple questions and answers. I also teach words to songs that students can sing in church.
I have been the only Customer Service Representative at Fairlane Town Center that could Sign to the Deaf customers, and I have also Signed for my church.

Hi all! I am a twenty-five year old female, and I am very passionate about the Deaf Culture and American Sign Language. I am currently enrolled in my last semester at the Community College of Baltimore County in the Interpreter Preparation Program. I have little teaching experience, but it involved teaching sign language to a young girl who was Deaf and Autistic. I have endless patience and want to see everyone I teach succeed. If you choose me to teach you American Sign Language, you will get exposure to the "Signing Naturally" workbooks, and knowledge of the Deaf Culture. I will use different methods such as video clips, "voice off" sessions, and give you a designated amount of time per lesson to learn signs that YOU want to learn. I want to make this a fun experience for any ...
My "second" language is ASL. I was raised around deaf people and have been signing most of my life. I became a licensed interpreter at the age of 16. I paid for much of my college by teaching accredited sign language classes at Mobile University and the University of South Alabama. After college I worked as the Assistant Director for the Mobile Center for the Deaf. I can teach you to sign music, interpret church services, improve your ASL or prepare for national interpreter evaluations. If you want to learn Cued Speech, I can help you there as well.
