About Alan

Hi, my name is Alan. I am a college graduate who is deaf and fluent in ASL, but can also speak and lipread well. I am presently volunteering to teach a sign language class to a group of hearing students in Pinellas Park on Tuesday evenings. I have been teaching/tutoring ASL privately for 7 years. I would love to help you learn ASL and interact with deaf people using the expressive and receptive skills that I have mastered throughout my life. I am a very patient teacher who would like to see you become successful in conversing in ASL. I am available to provide you with my tutoring service in the mornings, afternoons or evenings during the week. Please contact me if you are interested.

Learning on what YOU need to learn. Your weaknesses are improved and strengths outlined and advanced. To do classes in my home- I have a cat and dog- so be alerted to allergies. Must be able to walk up stairs.

About Mary

I have been teaching since I was 15 years old! Started with peer to peer tutoring to summer lifeguard and swim lessons for all ages in pool and the ocean! Today, after years of singing back up and performing as a keyboardist or drummer for STOMP, Celtic Celebration, Olivia Newton John, Lou Reed, Rod Stewart and musical theater tour productions of GREASE, No No Nannette, XANADU; I continue teaching to keep me sharing my joy of music and learning!

Piano
Great teacher of all things!

I'm taking piano/voice privately from Mary. I wanted to learn opera and then she showed me how important music theory is to work on your voice. I'm in my mid 40s and thought I never could learn all this complicated stuff- but Mary makes it so fun and easy and motivates me. I and my friend took ballroom dancing from her too. She has great prices and spends alot of overtime . Very generous and experienced!

I've taken a lot of free classes and seminars about on-line marketing and SEO. They are all put on as teasers from companies that want you to hire them. Vanessa answered more questions in 45 minutes than I could have imagined. She gave me very specific and pertinent information. Not the generalities and vagueness I've gotten from so many of these seminars. I'm beyond pleased with her knowledge and wish I had found her months ago when I started marketing my business on-line.

About Aria

Hi all! I am a twenty-five year old female, and I am very passionate about the Deaf Culture and American Sign Language. I am currently enrolled in my last semester at the Community College of Baltimore County in the Interpreter Preparation Program. I have little teaching experience, but it involved teaching sign language to a young girl who was Deaf and Autistic. I have endless patience and want to see everyone I teach succeed. If you choose me to teach you American Sign Language, you will get exposure to the "Signing Naturally" workbooks, and knowledge of the Deaf Culture. I will use different methods such as video clips, "voice off" sessions, and give you a designated amount of time per lesson to learn signs that YOU want to learn. I want to make this a fun experience for any ...

Tom H. Nashville, TN

My "second" language is ASL. I was raised around deaf people and have been signing most of my life. I became a licensed interpreter at the age of 16. I paid for much of my college by teaching accredited sign language classes at Mobile University and the University of South Alabama. After college I worked as the Assistant Director for the Mobile Center for the Deaf. I can teach you to sign music, interpret church services, improve your ASL or prepare for national interpreter evaluations. If you want to learn Cued Speech, I can help you there as well.

About Tom

Hi, My name is Tom. I'm a licensed teacher in the state of Tennessee and have taught on both the university level (6 years at Auburn University) and in the public school system (12 years as a high school teacher in Cheatham and Williamson counties). Prior to that, I taught in Spain where I lived, attended college, and worked for many years. I speak 5 languages, (what can I say, it's just my thing!) I earned my bachelor's degree in biology and have a masters degree in Spanish from Auburn University as well as a masters in education from Belmont University. I studied in the University of Seville (Spain) and in the University of Salamanca (Spain). Naturally, I consider Spain to be my "second home." I've traveled extensively through Europe, Africa, Central and South America and have a lot

Ashley C. Tomball, TX

I've known American sign language all of my life. I interpreted back in 2010.

About Ashley

I'm a stay at home mommy of 3 little girls. I didn't take school for sign language, however I was raised by my deaf grandmother. So I'm kind of fluent in ASL. I don't know ESL. I can sign all of the alphabet, and some words. Signing is my second language. It's a beautiful language, and it's incredibly fun to learn! I interpreted for a man who posted an ad back in 2010, and he really enjoyed it, and I'll do my best to make it an enjoyable experience for you too!
