I grew up about twenty minutes from the border with France and got to go there regularly from early on. I started learning French when I was 12 and started teaching it when I was 15 because, believe it or not, I enjoy the sometimes weird grammatical complexities of French.

At university I took advanced classes to continue learning and when I went to study in Canada I lived in a shared house with six native speakers of Canadian and European French. This year I spent the spring in Morocco and Togo where I got to experience two more varieties French.

I consider myself highly Francophile, enjoy reading in French and take pleasure in teaching it. Explaining grammar, spelling, pronunciation and difficult features of the language are my assets as I have been largely successful in sharing them with students, friends and acquaintances over the years.

I am a French native speaker from the Loire region in France. I am a California Credential teacher K-12. I feel strongly about French conversation ,since this is what we do first as human beings. I am a compassionate teacher who loves to make it fun and with high expectations. I have been teaching French for many years and for the last 5 years I have taught students from many different backgrounds, ages and French levels in different settings.

I've been teaching French since 2002 and my students have gone on to develop a deep love of French culture, travel abroad, and make new friends. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to communicate in it in everyday situations and as time goes on you'll be able to watch films and listen to and understand music in this language. As a child, I lived in Montreal, Canada and attended a French public school. When I moved here, I continued my French education in middle school and high school, eventually pursuing it as a second degree in college.

I have experience tutoring all ages in French, and am willing to work with you through any questions you have. I have specific knowledge on differences between Quebec (French Canadian) and France French language, accents and grammar. My French experience also includes studying abroad at l'Université de Pau in Pau, France, and living in the French quarters of a language immersion program for 3 years.

I also have 2 years of experience teaching group French classes to adults in a classroom setting, ranging from beginner to intermediate levels.
