In preparation for a trip to France, and not knowing any French at all, I started taking French lessons from Isabelle several months ago. She has helped me a lot with pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. She is an excellent teacher.

Isabelle is an absolutely marvelous teacher - anyone and everyone would benefit from taking classes with her.
I speak French well and my goal is to improve my conversational skills so that I can keep up with my monthly French book group. I am the only American in a group of French women and French is spoken the whole time.
Isabelle has been spectacular in helping me sharpen and improve my conversational skills. Our class is one long conversation - very carefully orchestrated by Isabelle so that each class is both productive and delightful.
I love to discuss the French culture and culture in general and Isabelle invariably makes that part of the conversation. But i think that Isabelle could talk with great knowledge and interest about many topics.
Each session flies by and each session makes my conversational skills sharper.
I feel very lucky that Isabelle is my teacher.

I've been teaching French for six years and my students have gone on to improve their grade substantially. Within the first few lessons, you'll get a better understanding of the material learned in class or if you are a new beginner, you will be able to read and speak basic French. I use different grammar and reading books depending on your level and make you practice with speaking and written exercises to vary the learning process. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I would be thrilled to meet you!

About Monique

Their success is my pride and reward and my goal is to make them achieve the best results.
I will be happy to meet you at the location of your choice whether it is your home, the library, a coffee shop or another convenient location.

I'm a Certified Interpreter in French (along with Romanian, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese) by the Defense Language Institute Monterrey, California.
Since middle school I loved foreign languages which proved to be very rewarding starting with high school when traveling around the world with shooting competitions.
Visiting France and other French speaking countries on three continents allowed me the affinity of learning different accents and slangs of the same language.

Learning any foreign language opens doors in life whether on personal or professional level, and I sincerely believe that anybody can learn anything disregarding their age; in fact, I have friends who late in life decided to learn foreign languages or various skills that they always wanted to learn, so, I encourage you to do the same.

Group students are welcome at a special rate.

About Isabela
Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teaching me that age is just a number and that learning can happen any day if we choose so. R is a medical doctor, a psychologist, a chemist and biologist. Words can't even define how great of a man he is and how grateful I am to learn from him, too. For instance, about a famous language called "esperanto", a language created in the late 19th century.

I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested studen
t who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).

I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.

I believe in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.

I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages (and proper grammar rules which highly reflect on one's education) by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration and health.

I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.

Bonjour!

I grew up about twenty minutes from the border with France and got to go there regularly from early on. I started learning French when I was 12 and started teaching it when I was 15 because, believe it or not, I enjoy the sometimes weird grammatical complexities of French.

At university I took advanced classes to continue learning and when I went to study in Canada I lived in a shared house with six native speakers of Canadian and European French. This year I spent the spring in Morocco and Togo where I got to experience two more varieties French.

I consider myself highly Francophile, enjoy reading in French and take pleasure in teaching it. Explaining grammar, spelling, pronunciation and difficult features of the language are my assets as I have been largely successful in sharing them with students, friends and acquaintances over the years.

Allons-y! :)

About Viktor
Hola, hallo, olá, ciao and bonjour !

My name is Viktor Malu and I'm a well-traveled linguist who is passionate about the nature and manifold applications of language. I have either lived or spent significant time in places where the languages I speak are alive and I strive to spark linguistic enthusiasm in the people around me. I have a talent for using existing knowledge of language, which we all have, even unknowingly, to make learning or improving a new language easier. Languages are vivid, fun, and adventurous, they often require patience and thrive with motivation - just like my classes!

I have recently graduated in Applied Intercultural Linguistics (B.A.) from the University of Augsburg, Germany. This is an interdisciplinary program that includes linguistic theory and practice as well as didactics and cultural studies. It allowed
me to spend two years studying and living in the English-, Spanish- and French-speaking Americas and Portugal.

I started tutoring in English, French and Spanish when I was 15 and have continued teaching languages professionally and as a volunteer in a variety of settings, such as a private tutoring institute, a secondary school in Costa Rica, at university (phonetics and phonology), at an NGO's school for refugees and at a language school for adults and young professionals.

Let me be your source of knowledge, experience, wisdom and enthusiasm! Ready to tap in?
