I have a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literature issued by the University of Verona, Italy.

I have studied French for several years and I tutored it in the past. I will be very good to teach beginner to intermediate level.

About ENRICO
I am a native Italian speaker with a several years of experience in teaching Italian and English. I am a very easy-going, open-minded, professional person. I like to teach because it gives me the opportunity to meet new students, share my knowledge as well as my culture and experience.

I started tutoring back when I was attending the university in Verona, Italy. I was tutoring English, Math and some other subjects. Later on, I continued teaching English while I was working in other fields. In 2009 I moved to Los Angeles. For a couple of years, I taught ESL in a college, and in the meantime I tutored Italian to private students. Since 2009 I have been tutoring students both on the English and Italian subjects.

I really believe that in teaching, a language a primary focus should be on life skills. Not being an English native-speaker,
I learned how important it is to be able to express basic needs and to perform primary activities. However, it is important to consider other points like grammar, reading, writing. I also think that no matter what a teacher should always take into account the needs of the students and subsequently I plan my classes reflecting on the student's demands.

As to the different approaches and materials that I use, I suppose that it is important to change them frequently in order to keep the classes more interesting. Of course, there are some exceptions. For instance, in the past I taught for a while TOEFL and for that type of classes I used more traditionalist and academic methods and materials.

- Italian Native Speaker with a several year experience in teaching Italian

- M.A in Foreign Languages and Literature (English and French)

One of my greatest passion is to cook. I was extremely lucky to be taught and introduced to the art of cooking by my grandmother. She was born at the beginning of the previous century and she lived in different cities so she got accustomed to different traditions and shared them with me. I love to cook for smaller groups, using traditional Italian ingredients to prepare simple, but exquisite dishes that belong to the tradition of my native country. If you want to experience some real Italian food, you are definitely in the right hands. Just sit back, relax sip a glass of Italian wine while I cook for you and I share my art.

From the get go I knew I had found the perfect teacher,
Enrico is a motivating teacher.
He challenges you to learn what you need by reading and discussing interesting materials he sends .it isn't just not doing verbs exercises and tenses but actually participating in actual situations as if you were in Italy .
Enrico quickly helps you get over the nervousness that students experience when reading out loud and discussing the meaning of words in sentences and their uses.

Suzanne is such a fun and very sweet instructor. I usually have a difficult time getting my son interested in most things. However, he loved his first singing lesson, and can't wait to go back. Thank you Suzanne!

I have a Ph.D. in French from the Ohio State University with twenty years of teaching experience (private lessons, language institutions, and universities).
Since my childhood, I have always been fond of the French language and culture in such a way that French has become part of my identity. From the first day of preschool to the last day of high school, I studied at a French school.
I love teaching French. My teaching methodology depends on each of my students and their specific needs and goals in learning the French language. It is important to me to keep my students interested, motivated, and engaged while learning the language. I always try to assure that my students feel comfortable and confident in speaking French in a friendly and fun environment.

About Jaleh
Since my childhood, I have always been fond of the French language and culture in such a way that French has become part of my identity. From the first day of preschool to the last day of high school, I studied at a French school. Therefore, I grew up appreciating together this new world with that of Persian tradition. I obtained my Ph.D. degree in French at the Ohio State University where at the same time I worked as a Graduate Teaching Associate instructing French courses for 6 years. For nearly twenty years, I have taught French at various language institutions as well as to private students. I can help you with anything relating to the French language.

I can especially help students who are already studying French, but need additional assistance in mastering the grammar, pronunciation, and usage of the language.

About Julie
I am a professional musician, specializing in traditional American and Irish music and song; I can, however, also teach classical guitar and beginning-intermediate violin. My CD, "American Stranger," has received critical acclaim and I have authored two books on DADGAD guitar for Mel Bay Publications.

I taught myself guitar at the age of thirteen, but took three years of lessons at Washington University, where I also studied English and French. As an adult I became interested in fingerstyle guitar in open tunings, especially DADGAD. I am, however, happy to teach in standard tuning--including basic guitar proficiency, classical guitar, and "folk" guitar.

I have played violin since I was eleven, taking lessons until the age of sixteen and playing in both high school orchestra and the local youth symphony. I later learned to sus
pend much of my classical technique in order to play both old-time and traditional Irish fiddle as authentically as possible; but I still retain my initial training and apply good basic violin technique to my fiddle and (of course) her violin teaching, while tailoring it to the musical idioms of each of students.

I have also studied voice, which again, however, I have never allowed to interfere with my performance of traditional songs--largely because I had developed a traditional approach to the singing of both American southern mountain repertory and traditional Irish song many years before receiving any formal instruction. This training, however, has given me greater insight into how to get the most out of your voice for almost any style.

I also taught myself to play lap dulcimer, basing my approach on the Eastern Kentucky styles associated with Jean Ritchie, Barbara Edwards, and Anne MacFie—that is, primarily using a small dowel stick or noter to sound the melody, and playing counter-melodies for song accompaniments.

My clawhammer banjo-playing is influenced by various Appalachian instrumentalists and accompanists (including Dock Boggs, Clarence Ashley, Hobart Smith, and Lily May Ledford), but my style is also influenced by years of playing with midwestern and southern-style fiddlers.

I welcome students ages 10 or above, and have learned to adapt my teaching style to the individual student, helping each one to make the most of his or her talents and enthusiasms, while emphasizing sound technique and good practice habits.

If you are able to read this, you have already mastered one language. This is called your 'mother tongue'. This is your most valuable resource in learning the way that a foreign language works. From your mother tongue, you will be able to recognize structural/functional similarities and differences that we will take advantage of in order to teach you French. My lessons do not aim to bog down the student with confusing and unnecessary grammatical jargon. Communication is the first priority. I use lots of mnemonics, heuristics and linguistic tricks to help you memorize vocabulary. For grammar, I draw it out of what you already know!

About Will
I graduated from Portland State University with a major in Applied Linguistics and a minor in French. My curious nature led me from my idyllic hometown (Silverton) to live at various times in New York City, San Francisco, Germany, France and China. Through teaching abroad, I was not only able to wend my way into personally enriching experiences, but to be of service. I ultimately found that service to be more satisfying than globetrotting.

I believe that analogy is the driver of cognition. This means that, as a teacher, my job is primarily to orient abilities that the student has already accrued towards new skills in a way that is personally salient for him or her. The most satisfaction I get as a teacher is when I see that my student has incorporated the skill that I was hired to impart, and I have been made obsolete.

The maj
ority of my free time is spent chasing my son, but I sometimes have time to play board games, or binge watch shows with my wife.
