Larry is a native of Taiwan, and speaks English & Mandarin fluently. He teaches Mandarin Chinese in any of the boroughs of New York City, online, or at his home location. He prepares each lesson and holds students accountable for practicing before each lesson. The Better Chinese method is one method that he uses for young beginners, and he also has an online curriculum for students of any age to practice.
Larry started tutoring Mandarin Chinese while he was still a student at the BYU-Idaho in 2007 and has continued teaching after moving to NYC.

Hi, there! My name is Elsa and I can't wait to meet you! I was born and raised in France and I went to Université of Avignon in France and earned a Master's degree in Teaching French as a Foreign or Second Language in 2016. I've been teaching private lessons since 2014 and have loved helping my students learning French and English. I'm a dynamic and enthusiastic person and my teaching style is personalized to my students needs. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
Students can expect to develop a strong base of grammar and diction. Having lived, studied, and worked in Paris for 3 years, I can offer insight into the culture of the French language.
I am an orchestral conducting Masters graduate from Mannes College of Music who has been playing piano since the age of 4. I have been teaching beginner and intermediate piano for the past 5 years to students ranging from ages 7 - 65. I teach all types of styles ranging from classical to jazz to pop with everything in-between.
My students can expect to develop a strong and reliable technique while being able to express their musical ideas with a clear and dynamic level of sophistication. It's the stories and emotions that draw people to music, so I do my best to base my teachings around that concept.
Our Studio led by the Actor Sam Medina is providing acting lessons for films and TV. Script break down, audition room, character work. Get the benefits of private coaching and BOOK IT!
When not in front of the cameras, Actor Sam Medina also lends his talent as a director for Episodic Television Shows. This fall, Medina will make his Feature Film directorial debut in the upcoming action/thriller UNTITLED SAM MEDINA PROJECT in Europe and Morocco. It will begin production in late 2019 for a release of the following year. He will also co-star in the film. In other news, Medina once more joins the Robert Rodriguez family of actors, lending his talent to the character of Stinger - the ten-foot robot in the animated feature Alita: Battle Angel, written and produced by James Cameron. He's also featured opposite actor Tom Hardy in the new Marve
l adventure Venom, and, in one of his most important roles to date, he's the lead antagonist opposite Mark Wahlberg in director Peter Berg's action/thriller Mile 22. Medina plays a special operative for a third world government determined to stop a rogue agent from revealing potential terrorist targets to the U.S. intelligence community. Currently ubiquitous in the action arena, he also played a good cop in the most recent Jack Reacher film, which starred Tom Cruise. A product of Honduras, Vietnam, Polynesia, France, mixed with American Cherokee, Sam Medina was born in Saigon, Vietnam, where he spent the first twelve years of his life living under communist rule. Thanks to his mother's determination and resourcefulness, he was able to move to the United States, where he grew up in New Orleans. It was not an easy life for Sam. When he first arrived in the States, he spoke no English and he was a problem child. However, as he became more settled, he learned the language and excelled in school, later attending he University of New Orleans. When the disaster of Katrina struck the city, the only work available for him was in the construction industry. Medina helped rebuild the city, then began to look into the other industry that was soon thriving: film and television. He began to drive to auditions all over the country - putting 300,000 miles on his cars. His first break was booking two episodes of the Prison Break television series, shooting in Dallas. Early on, he was also able to book the key role of the main villain's brother in Olympus Has Fallen. He was the only member of the attacking force to sport a Fu Manchu. He also portrayed Crawford, a Thai mobster/killer in Kickboxer: Vengeance and Kickboxer: Retaliation. His character will also be featured in the third film in this action series. How tough does Medina appear on screen? He was cast as a character who could intimidate Danny Trejo in Machete Kills. It took three helicopters to take him down. Because of his resemblance to a young Trejo, Robert Rodriguez cast him as "Razor Charlie" in the From Dusk Till Dawn television series - the same character Trejo played in the original film. Medina models his career similarly to that of Sean Bean. They mostly die their whole career thus far. So now, when Sam takes meetings with Directors/Producers and Studios, His First question is " Does my character die?" "How does he die?" Medina's additional feature credits include: Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, Tracers, Savages, Dragon Eyes, The Baytown Outlaws, Let's Be Cops, Ant-Man, Our Brand Is Crisis, and Blood Out. His television credits include: Treme, Army Wives, Macgyver, NCIS: Los Angeles, Banshee, Let's Stay Together, Conan, The Messengers, Into the Badlands, Game of Silence, and he booked three episodes of Preacher, portraying the Samurai Guy. Between acting assignments, Medina can be found in his gym, where he works out with weights six days a week. He's also writing, studying cinematography and editing his latest short films.

"Mademoiselle Schram is intuitive to the student’s needs as a learner of the French language. In the beginning and as one continues with studying she will
ask what interest one has in the French language and tailor lessons in accordance to goals and French studies. Always there is a thread of excitement in relaying information and teaching that only an instructor that loves what he or she does…is able to convey to and through the student. There is a wonderful level of comfort one derives from being in Mademoiselle Schram’s presence that acts as an impetus of flow for easygoing and interesting learning, instruction, and information. Also, she is clear in pronunciation of French and will continually break down words that one may have trouble when listening with a foreign ear and speaking by imitation and repetition. Mademoiselle Schram is elegant of manner, intellect, and “je ne sais quoi” (uniqueness) of a French woman that incorporates well into study and overall learning. She is able to answer questions regarding culture and mannerisms of French people and way of life succinctly. She is exceedingly patient when one asks questions and always responds with a ready compelling answer. Mademoiselle Schram guides one as a student successfully by being perceptive in incorporating, suggesting, referencing French learning aids, websites, and or other instructional devices that take a student’s level of learning French to another level. She is precise and consistently responsible in meeting at the exact time set for learning no matter where a student is in the world. She is constantly present and focused in the time allotted for French learning. She is also well prepared beforehand with every instruction which offers a smooth flowing transition from one aspect of french to the next. Mademoiselle Schram does not disappoint…if anything she delivers…and delivers the entirety of French exceedingly well. Thank you always Mademoiselle Schram for all of the knowledge you impart. Ainsi, J’aime Mademoiselle Schram. Merci beaucoup!"
When you're learning French, consistent linguistic exposure at and just above your level is vital. It can help you reinforce your current level, and help you raise your level through context clues and direct introduction to new vocabulary.
