I have a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literature issued by the University of Verona, Italy.

I have studied French for several years and I tutored it in the past. I will be very good to teach beginner to intermediate level.

About ENRICO
I am a native Italian speaker with a several years of experience in teaching Italian and English. I am a very easy-going, open-minded, professional person. I like to teach because it gives me the opportunity to meet new students, share my knowledge as well as my culture and experience.

I started tutoring back when I was attending the university in Verona, Italy. I was tutoring English, Math and some other subjects. Later on, I continued teaching English while I was working in other fields. In 2009 I moved to Los Angeles. For a couple of years, I taught ESL in a college, and in the meantime I tutored Italian to private students. Since 2009 I have been tutoring students both on the English and Italian subjects.

I really believe that in teaching, a language a primary focus should be on life skills. Not being an English native-speaker,
I learned how important it is to be able to express basic needs and to perform primary activities. However, it is important to consider other points like grammar, reading, writing. I also think that no matter what a teacher should always take into account the needs of the students and subsequently I plan my classes reflecting on the student's demands.

As to the different approaches and materials that I use, I suppose that it is important to change them frequently in order to keep the classes more interesting. Of course, there are some exceptions. For instance, in the past I taught for a while TOEFL and for that type of classes I used more traditionalist and academic methods and materials.

Customized lessons to the students' needs and goals.

*** Specialties ***
- T.E.F.L. Certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language

- Italian Native Speaker with a several year experience in teaching Italian

- M.A in Foreign Languages and Literature (English and French)

One of my greatest passion is to cook. I was extremely lucky to be taught and introduced to the art of cooking by my grandmother. She was born at the beginning of the previous century and she lived in different cities so she got accustomed to different traditions and shared them with me. I love to cook for smaller groups, using traditional Italian ingredients to prepare simple, but exquisite dishes that belong to the tradition of my native country. If you want to experience some real Italian food, you are definitely in the right hands. Just sit back, relax sip a glass of Italian wine while I cook for you and I share my art.

From the get go I knew I had found the perfect teacher,
Enrico is a motivating teacher.
He challenges you to learn what you need by reading and discussing interesting materials he sends .it isn't just not doing verbs exercises and tenses but actually participating in actual situations as if you were in Italy .
Enrico quickly helps you get over the nervousness that students experience when reading out loud and discussing the meaning of words in sentences and their uses.

In middle school, I began taking French instead of Spanish because I wanted to be different. By the time I reached college, I knew I wanted to be proficient in at least one foreign language - so I ended up majoring in it, and spending two years in Paris during graduate school. Languages are fun, and I hope to help my students discover this, too! Look out also for my blog articles in French on the TakeLessons blog.

About Beth
I earned my BA in French with a minor in math from Pomona College, followed by my Masters in French Language Education from the Sorbonne University in Paris. I have six years of experience teaching English and English as a foreign language to middle and high school students.

I have taught private violin and viola lessons since the beginning of 2012. As a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, I have completed their violin pedagogy courses for Suzuki books one through four. I have played in various local orchestras since high school, including the San Diego Youth Symphony, the Pomona College Orchestra, the San Francisco Civic Symphony, San Francisco Civic Strings, the West Sacramento Community Orchestra, and the Rancho Cordova Civic Light Orchestra. I also play handbells, and currently play with RiverBells Sacramento.

Mrs. Jen has been a violin teacher for our daughter for 3.5 years. She is an extremely qualified and talented musician who deeply cares about her students and is committed to teaching. She is kind and patient, but also effective and motivating. When our 8 year old daughter learned Mrs. Jen was moving she said, "I probably will never have as neat or special of a violin teacher as Mrs. Jen"- and she's right!

First lesson was fine. We took a few minutes to find each other in a cafe setting but as it was also a meet and greet session I wasn't too concerned about time. As it turns out Beth more than made up the time. She's very pleasant and easy to speak with. We went over my goals, simple traveler type words, phrases and questions, and a work schedule to cover the next several weeks. Beth told me how she was going to approach teaching me after listening to my goals. I'm looking forward to the next session where we can focus on learning the language.

Tania is being a great tutor. My interest is to brush up my French after 10 years w/o any practice - focused on conversation. I am really appreciating the classes with her. She brings the right balance correcting what is needed but with encouragement and positiveness to keep you confident and engaged.

I highly recommend anyone who is either a beginner, or any level of French to use Tania as a tutor. I started to learn French at a very basic level and currently I feel very comfortable with the basics of the language. What I like the most about my lessons with Tania is that French is used throughout the duration of the lesson, which really helps one to be submerged into the language.

Tania has been working with me on my level. I have learned a lot and she has also refreshed my memory of what I had learned a few years back. Her classes are very practical. There is tons of conversation and grammar. I am able to apply what I learn right away. My comprehension has improved a lot as well. One of my favorite things is that she is a native speaker so I learn a more practical French with common day-to-day expressions, with many things I won't get from book. Very recommended!

*****Before you sign up*****

There are three simple things you need to know about my tutoring program.
1. No matter what your reasons for learning a foreign language are, ultimately it's a part of your SELF DEVELOPMENT. Treat it as such.
2. I don't believe in "good or bad with languages" stereotype. I have taught for many years and learnt that everyone is "language talented" when they actually want to speak a new language. And if you are one of them I garantie that my method will work for you.
3. My program might appear quite different from the ones you have tried or seen before and goes beyond simple grammar and vocabulary presentation. Also prepare to be challenged at every step of the way and the further you will get the more fun and exciting it will be.

DON'T FORGET TO GO TO MY VIDEOS AND TAKE YOUR FIRST FRENCH TEST! BONNE CHANCE!

*****My Students*****

For over 6 years of professional experien
ce as Russian/French/ESL teacher, I have worked with all types of students with different learning styles and various goals: taught within U.S. public education institutions, provided private classes for children and adults, developed and implemented individualized syllabus for diplomats, high rank executives at multinational companies, employees of U.S. Embassy and Department of State.

Thanks to all my students, current and former, I am now confident that every individual, willing to learn one of the languages I teach, without a doubt, has everything it takes to succeed when the right approach is applied during the learning process and that is when your classes are comprehensible, interesting and engaging.

*****Program features*****

It is one on one program, thouroughtly personalized and organized according to your interests (general and professional), schedule, final goals, learning style and many other important elements to be taken into account.

Each session is 50 minutes.

Every session is prepared to reach a particular goal and structured in the way to have a maximum profit from "teacher - student" part of learning. Supporting materials are sent after each session: grammar notes, retention exercises, homework assignments, audio and video files as phonetic exercises and listening practice. The content of these materials is permanently tested and modified in order to achieve the best way to engage each individual student's language acquisition mechanisms.

Teacher's support 24/7.

Extra curricula content: idiomatic language components, cultural studies (traditions, history, literature, cinema and language related etymology), recommendations for independent language practice.

The way I see it, with each new student - there is a new process in my head that starts and constantly creates and improves techniques, ideas, method components, teaching style e.t.c for getting this particular student to do the best he or she can.

I enjoyed my lesson and look forward to the next ones. Roman located were I was at in my Russian language by asking question. Then used that knowledge as the bases and went from there. Roman used shared video so I could see what notes he was typing then emailed those notes to me in addition to other resources. His explanations were simple, cut and dry. I have taken lessons with Ronald since I was 6, I am now 23. In my 17 years of taking lessons I have learned to play piano, sing and am proficient in music theory. In the more recent years I have even had the opportunity to teach music through Ronald. Throughout the years, I have experienced and witnessed the patience and kindness Ronald consistently shows his students. He encourages his students to become better and shares in their enthusiasm due to their accomplishments. Ronald genuinely cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure his students improve. I fully recommend Ronald for students who have parents who want to be involved in the learning process and especially for young children who are just starting out. Ronald works well with families, includes parents every step of the way and is very patient with young students helping them learn in an open and encouraging environment.

Mr.Chaz is really dedicated to his profession. He started to teach my seven year old son over one year ago and he has motivated him to sing his best and he started piano with him last year which has been a phenomenal experience for my son. Chaz really focuses on the detail, theory and groundwork necessary to excel in music. If you are lucky enough to get your child started with him you will never regret the experience. He is simply the best! My son sings all the time now and loves to play piano. I am so happy for my son to have found someone to expand on his talents!

Allez-viens! I have been speaking and studying French for over 10 years. It was my first foreign language and I am still so passionate about Francophonie that I truly enjoy facilitating the language learning process for others. I have a BA in French Comparative Literature and I have actually lived in France in a small and culturally rich town where learning the language was the only option. While there, I attended a French Université. My MA in education enables me to proactively tailor lessons to student needs, goals and strengths to ensure the most constructive and effective learning environment.

About Clarissa
I focus on the student. My approach and materials will vary depending on the progress, past experience and interests of the student. I want her or him to want to learn. My hobbies include backpacking, hiking, travel, reading, and language learning.

I am working on my Masters in Secondary English and currently hold an Associates in ECE, this combined with my extensive experience with the AP system and the time that I lived in and attended université in France make me qualified to tutor in these subjects and the satellite subject areas such as diction, study skills, reading and writing. I have experience learning four foreign languages in addition to English. It is my love of the learning process, patience and passion for these subjects, however, that are most efficacious in the tutoring process. Best of luck with your studies!

I studied French for 3 years, and use it at an intermediate level. I would feel very comfortable teaching beginning students to the French language!

About Jean
Hello!

I'm a university student who is currently studying music performance. I am interested in taking on a few students this summer. My specialty is brass performance (tuba, euphonium, trombone, etc), however, I can also teach basic music concepts such as reading music, and basic piano skills. Whether it is learning to actually perform and play on an instrument, or whether it is simply being able to audiate and then tap out a tune on a piano, I can teach these skills! I am very passionate about bringing basic musicianship to all kinds of people; all people should be able to recognize (or reproduce) the skills it takes to do any type of music. My teaching philosophy is very largely about music appreciation and music application. One will learn to appreciate old types of music and new types of music (like pop), and one will learn to app
ly their skills to the type of music that best interests them!

I also teach Spanish and French in addition; I have 3 years of French experience and 6 years of French experience; I would love to take on some beginner students!

With regards to these lessons, prices are entirely negotiable. Simply send an email and we can discuss.
I am willing to travel!
