Spanish is my second language. My mother was a Spanish teacher in the elementary school level and used music as an amazing resource for teaching Spanish to kids. I'll use the same techniques and ideas, as well as focusing on reading and writing the very romantic language.
I love to create. The way I'm most comfortable creating is through writing; whether it's a song, a short story, a poem or a script. Writing has always been the bass line in my life; the heartbeat.
Music and film are both passions of mine. I graduated from Berklee College of Music where I studied Songwriting and Music Therapy. I was pushed to my absolute limits lyrically and musically within these majors, and I am so grateful for it now that I'm on my own creative journey.
I have a great deal of experience, but I am also still learning. I think it is very important as a teacher to always be learning, especially through their students. Teaching these lessons is, of course, about progress and advancement - but also about enjoyment, confidence building and positive encouragement.
I have been teaching Spanish to children and adults for more than 10 years. I work part time at a local San Diego Charter School.
I love teaching Spanish, especially to kids. I'm very experienced and patience is one of my many virtues as a teacher. I have experience introducing Spanish Language to kids as young as 5 years old and I have equal or more experience teaching this beautiful language to adults as well. It doesn't matter how old you are. I will make sure you learn at your pace and comfort level. I offer my expertise and knowledge to help you to reach your goals and expectations. I am background checked and fingerprinted by the Child Care License Department of Human Services.
Marie is the first and best teacher I ever had that taught me in a way that worked for my way of learning. She focused and engaged with me at 100% Spanish is now fun for me! I look forward to each lesson and can literally see great improvement each week.
We will learn basic Spanish or based on your needs!

I studied Spanish and lived in Ecuador for a year where I volunteered at a school and edited a Spanish textbook. I can help beginning and intermediate students with speaking, reading, writing and grammar. I promise to make your Spanish classes interesting and fun. If you would like to study Spanish literature or film we can incorporate those into our lessons. I love the Spanish language and would be happy to help you achieve Spanish proficiency while cultivating a love for the language. I offer a free consultation to discuss Spanish lessons.
I have been an educator for more than ten years. In that time, I've taught and tutored English, Language Arts and Spanish to students from elementary to PhD level. I also help students study for the SAT, ACT and TOEFL tests and coach students through the college and graduate school application process. I love teaching and learning. I am patient, enthusiastic and dedicated to my students.
My teaching philosophy can be summed up in a few words : learning should be fascinating, relevant, individualized and fun. Helen Keller said, “ A well-educated mind will always have more questions than answers.” My goal is to help my students ask the questions that will lead them to deeper understanding. The poet Mark Van Doren said, “The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.” In our lessons, I will help you make discoveries that will ins
pire you to keep learning.
When I’m not teaching, I love reading, exploring the California coast, writing poetry, meditation and singing loudly.

I have had Diana as a tutor for a full month. She has excellent understanding of the grammar, and a born ability to teach. She would always make me work to remember what i learnt so that the lessons would stick with me. More importantly though, she was able to make lessons fun and engaging, which goes a long way in the difficulty of learning a new language. I strongly recommend her!

Great teacher, As someone who was new to Spanish, she made the learning process fun and casual, making sure that I was comfortable in the classroom. I appreciated that she changed things up and was open to new ways of teaching. She also made sure I was learning and not just having fun, which is an important difference to note as it seems some teachers will prioritize fun over learning. Diana managed to keep the fun and learning very well balanced. Overall, a very good teacher and guide for me as I was just beginning to learn Spanish, which in my opinion, seems to be the most difficult time in the language learning process. Highly recommend.

She is a great teacher, she always mixes your intrests into the lessons. She is very kind and a natural teacher in that order that it os very easy to learn from her. This helped me alot when i got home, i went from a D- in spanish to an A+ just over one summer and I owe it to diana and her teachings.
I'm a Certified Interpreter in Spanish (along with Romanian, French, Italian, and Portuguese) by the Defense Language Institute Monterrey, California. Since middle school I loved foreign languages which proved to be very rewarding starting with high school when traveling around the world with shooting competitions. Visiting Spain and Andorra, and traveling countries on five continents allowed me the affinity of learning more about the culture but also develop preferences for myself. I also learned various accents available in other parts of the world where Spanish is spoken.
Learning any foreign language opens doors in life whether on personal or professional level, and I sincerely believe that anybody can learn anything disregarding their age; in fact, I have friends who late in life decided to learn foreign languages or various skills that they always wanted to learn, so, I encourage you to do the same.
Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teaching me that age is just a number and that learning can happen any day if we choose so. R is a medical doctor, a psychologist, a chemist and biologist. Words can't even define how great of a man he is and how grateful I am to learn from him, too. For instance, about a famous language called "esperanto", a language created in the late 19th century.
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested studen
t who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).
I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.
I believe in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.
I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages (and proper grammar rules which highly reflect on one's education) by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration and health.
I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.
I have been teaching for 11 years, having taught students of all ages. Speaking is just as important as reading & writing, so there are always lots of dialogues & conversations. I also incorporate everyday experiences to make the language more accessible. I love languages & cultures, and try to make learning a new language an amazing experience!
I am currently a college professor. I received my Bachelors from Penn State University and my Masters from the University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Having lived in Spain, I learned first-hand the importance of being able to communicate. I emphasize oral communication equally with reading & writing skills.
Even though I teach collegians, I have also taught young children & older adults. I adapt my teaching methods to best suit whatever age group I am working with.
I love languages and cultures, and am always trying to learn new things. As a student of dance for many years, I am a fan of Spanish & Hispanic music, which I also incorporate into some of my lessons.
I have also done interpretation and translation, so I can provide some instruction in those areas as well.
My goal is not only to teach Spanish, but to also create curio
sity and enthusiasm for the language, culture & history of such a large & diverse population,
I went into this knowing nearly nothing about the Spanish language. This would not be brief if I listed everything I now know about the language (I still
have much to learn). I give Profesora F. excellent on all aspects of
teaching, plus the she made learning a lot fun. She is a great teacher.

Profesora F. is a very caring and considerate teacher. I was going through a rough time when she was teaching me, and she was patient and willing to work with me to help me succeed. She always encouraged me and made me determined to do well. She is a wonderful teacher and person.

Spanish with Profesora F. was awesome. I took Spanish back in high school and honestly I could not stand it. But she really made the class fun and inviting.
I probably learned the most from her than from any other professor. She made the class!!!

"Our 3yo, and 8yo are half Latino and we didn’t want them to miss out on their spanish, they enjoy classes with Miss Ana and she has a lot of patience with
them and brings spanish activities to keep them entertained and eager to learn, she gave us as parents many tips on how to keep their brain learning the language on the daily by changing language on tablets, putting cartoons/tv in Spanish only and books."
"DAVID IS AN OUTSTANDING TEACHER IN EVERY RESPECT. HIS KNOWLEDGE OF SPANISH SEEMS EXCELLENT, AND HIS INTEREST IN THIS LANGUAGE IS CLEARLY VERY STRONG. THI
S ALLOWS CLOSE ANALYSIS OF SPANISH, AND STANDS AS A SIGNIFICANT BENEFIT TO THE DIDACTIC PROCESS. IN TURN THIS PROMOTES A SPIRIT OF LEARNING IN CLASS WHICH IS INFORMATIVE AND GOOD FUN. FINALLY HIS KNOWLEDGE OF SPANISH/ENGLISH COGNATES AND INDO-EUROPEAN ROOTS IS UNUSUALLY BROAD, WHICH MAKES LEARNING SPANISH WITH HIM EASY AND ENTERTAINING. I BELIEVE DAVID HAS A TRUE VOCATION FOR TEACHING, AND I HOPE I CAN GO ON WITH LESSONS WITH HIM FOR SOME TIME TO COME."
"Micah has been very good at giving me what I need to improve my Spanish and encouraging me to stretch and do more. She has great patience and is very help
