I've been tutoring Spanish for 15 years, since I was an AP student in high school. I also hold a minor in Spanish Language. My students have gone on to develop a deep love of Spanish culture, study abroad in Latin America, and more! Within the first few lessons, you'll start speaking simple sentences and as time goes on, you'll be able to conjugate like a pro! I have the following tools available for your lessons: worksheets, textbooks, recording equipment, and more. I primarily love working with beginners (i.e., the equivalent of school level Spanish I) because I love to see these students pick up on a completely new language which was unfamiliar to them just a few weeks or months earlier.

My goal is not simply to bring Spanish I students to grade level, but excel past what they are learning in school.

Dan is an exceptional tutor. He tutored my son in 10th grade American Literature English. Dan actually went out and bought the books my son was assigned and read along with him to prepare for their lessons. He also edited all my son's essays, taught him some writing tricks, and dramatically improved his writing. I can't recommend enough.

Daniel is a fantastic teacher. He is patient, explains the information really well, and makes sure to tailor each lesson to my strengths and weaknesses. He is also really good at explaining complex concepts in super easy-to-understand terms. If you are looking for an amazing tutor who will help you understand and learn quickly, while boosting confidence, then Daniel’s the best tutor out there.

Dan is an exceptional tutor. My daughter is studying to become a teacher, and she struggled with the math section of the Praxis exam, which tests an overview of high school math. Dan worked extraordinarily hard, tutoring her twice per week. He rented practice books from the library, developed his own materials, and broke everything down for my daughter in simple terms so that she could understand. He was very patient and he worked through every problem she encountered. I can't thank him enough. Because of Dan, my daughter passed the exam, and she is on her way to becoming a teacher.

I have been teaching Spanish for 20 years and also work as a Spanish/English interpreter, so my Spanish level is that of a native speaker. I've also lived in Spain, Mexico, and Guatemala for extended periods of time.

I teach to each students strengths and break down the grammar into easy to comprehend portions, as well focusing on the spoken aspect of the language; since it is the most important aspect of being able to communicate in the language. I utilise pictures, word association, songs, and a variety of techniques to reinforce and remember vocabulary.

In addition, I like to break lessons into 2-3 parts to avoid boredom on the part of the student. This can also include games specifically tailored to Spanish-language learners.

About Nicole

I am a teacher with over 20 years experience in Spanish, French, ESL, Social Studies, Cultural Anthropology, and Sociology. My philosophy of learning is that it should be fun, not just memorization. I incorporate a variety of different teaching methods to keep class interesting, such as songs,

My four children, ages 6, 6, 11, 12, wanted to learn Spanish and Ms. Julissa made it very easy for us to choose a time and date to fit our busy schedule. She challenges them, gives them homework, quizzes them and sends me individual follow-up emails on their progress, after every lesson. Ms. Julissa have always been very positive and encouraging to all of my children! Best Teacher Ever!!

"Micah is the most inspiring teacher. She helped me from eighth grade until senior year; from memorizing Spanish poetry to analyzing essays, we did everything and I understood everything. I felt super prepared for class every week and if I ever had an issue I would just email Micah. Without Micah I do not know if I would have continue to AP Spanish V in high school or if my love for the Spanish language would be the same. I adore Micah and all that she has taught me and my pleasant Spanish memories are all rooted with Micah. If you are looking for not just an amazing teacher but an idol, Micah is the one."

"Remi fun and really well organized and puts so many of the exercises in the context of what other answers I've given. I need to be a bit more systematic in the lessons though. For example, I vaguely recall the reflexive but I'd rather have it explained to me than suddenly having part of it in a sentence to memorize. I've been rushing. Maybe we should slow down a bit so I can get more practice in rather than trying to learn so many new things all at once. I mostly want to get comfortable speaking."

I'm moving in with a native speaker family member soon and was looking for someone to help me have conversations in Spanish.
