I studied French in high school and college and spent a month in Marseilles. I am perfectly capable of helping you learn the basics of the language, how to pronounce words correctly and conjugate basic verbs and such.

About Kevin
I have had a fairly diverse musical background, including playing with bands and orchestras, as well as participating in choral groups and opera. I have a master's degree in music performance for wind conducting, and a bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on piano performance.

I have taught private lessons for several years now and I love every moment with my students! I have a real passion for sharing my knowledge and experience with others, both failures and successes. I believe everyone has creative potential, and I believe music is a real universal art form that anyone can tap into if they want. Above all, making and creating music should also be fun!

*** Lesson Details ***
I try to keep my lessons professional but comfortable too. I don't yell at students for messing up or anything like that. I usually have an agenda b
ut am willing to adjust and compromise if the situation dictates. If you don't have a curriculum in mind, I like Alfred's piano courses, but will do my best to find one that fits you as a student best. My initial goals are to make sure the basics of reading music and performing are set so that no matter what musical avenue you want to pursue, you will be successful. I do specialize in classical music but enjoy creating and playing in other genres as well.

I now also offer lessons online, as well as tutoring in most math areas!

***CANCELLATION POLICY***
I kindly ask for 24 hour notice whenever possible if a lesson is going to be missed. Generally speaking, if I don't hear from a student and their lesson time passes I will mark the lesson as missed, but I am also usually more than willing to make up the lesson at a later time.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a piano keyboard at my home.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would expect students to have their own instruments as needed, as well as music paper, pencils, etc. I may be able to provide some of those materials on occasion as well as some books/recordings, but will by and large expect students to purchase those for themselves.

*** Specialties ***
I am much more familiar with classical styles and Broadway. My music writing style tends to be somewhere between neo-classical and avant-garde.

I have a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literature issued by the University of Verona, Italy.

I have studied French for several years and I tutored it in the past. I will be very good to teach beginner to intermediate level.

About ENRICO
I am a native Italian speaker with a several years of experience in teaching Italian and English. I am a very easy-going, open-minded, professional person. I like to teach because it gives me the opportunity to meet new students, share my knowledge as well as my culture and experience.

I started tutoring back when I was attending the university in Verona, Italy. I was tutoring English, Math and some other subjects. Later on, I continued teaching English while I was working in other fields. In 2009 I moved to Los Angeles. For a couple of years, I taught ESL in a college, and in the meantime I tutored Italian to private students. Since 2009 I have been tutoring students both on the English and Italian subjects.

I really believe that in teaching, a language a primary focus should be on life skills. Not being an English native-speaker,
I learned how important it is to be able to express basic needs and to perform primary activities. However, it is important to consider other points like grammar, reading, writing. I also think that no matter what a teacher should always take into account the needs of the students and subsequently I plan my classes reflecting on the student's demands.

As to the different approaches and materials that I use, I suppose that it is important to change them frequently in order to keep the classes more interesting. Of course, there are some exceptions. For instance, in the past I taught for a while TOEFL and for that type of classes I used more traditionalist and academic methods and materials.

*** Lesson Details ***
Customized lessons to the students' needs and goals.

*** Specialties ***
- T.E.F.L. Certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language

- Italian Native Speaker with a several year experience in teaching Italian

- M.A in Foreign Languages and Literature (English and French)

One of my greatest passion is to cook. I was extremely lucky to be taught and introduced to the art of cooking by my grandmother. She was born at the beginning of the previous century and she lived in different cities so she got accustomed to different traditions and shared them with me. I love to cook for smaller groups, using traditional Italian ingredients to prepare simple, but exquisite dishes that belong to the tradition of my native country. If you want to experience some real Italian food, you are definitely in the right hands. Just sit back, relax sip a glass of Italian wine while I cook for you and I share my art.

From the get go I knew I had found the perfect teacher,
Enrico is a motivating teacher.
He challenges you to learn what you need by reading and discussing interesting materials he sends .it isn't just not doing verbs exercises and tenses but actually participating in actual situations as if you were in Italy .
Enrico quickly helps you get over the nervousness that students experience when reading out loud and discussing the meaning of words in sentences and their uses.

I have a BA and and an MA in French and have studied abroad in both France and Québec. This is my fourth year teaching French to elementary, middle, and high school students as well as college students and adults. Within the first few lessons you'll feel yourself increasing in proficiency with an immersion French method. With my individualized lesson plans, you will feel prepared for your oral presentation, next trip to a Francophone country, or your new job.
As a PhD student in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching and current University of Arizona instructor, I bring my expertise to the field to make learning hands on and interactive for all ages, both in person and online.

About Natalie
Hello, bonjour, hola! I'm Natalie and I've been tutoring for eight years and formally teaching for four years. I've loved helping students meet their goals in French, English, and Spanish, and I look forward to helping you.

I hold a B.A. in French and Chinese and an M.A. in French Linguistics, both from University of Florida. Currently, I am a first year PhD student in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. As such, I am truly centered on helping you achieve your language goals from traveling abroad to passing a language test to communicating in your work or school environment. My flexibility and enthusiasm coupled with individualized lesson plans will help increase your confidence in communicating in other language(s).

I'm dedicated to help you becoming bilingual or proficient for travel needs in another language. Bilingualism
not only makes you smarter, as you have to learn to switch in between languages and inhibit one while using the other, it also makes you less likely to get Alzheimer's or dementia (New York Times, 2012). So what are you waiting for? Let's get you on your language learning journey today! Bon voyage! Buen viaje!

Note: I will be co-leading and teaching a study abroad program in Paris this summer (June-July), so will have slightly different availability and will be 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time (9 hours ahead of Pacific). Please contact me if you're interested in lessons and we will find a time that works for you!

If you are able to read this, you have already mastered one language. This is called your 'mother tongue'. This is your most valuable resource in learning the way that a foreign language works. From your mother tongue, you will be able to recognize structural/functional similarities and differences that we will take advantage of in order to teach you French. My lessons do not aim to bog down the student with confusing and unnecessary grammatical jargon. Communication is the first priority. I use lots of mnemonics, heuristics and linguistic tricks to help you memorize vocabulary. For grammar, I draw it out of what you already know!

About Will
I graduated from Portland State University with a major in Applied Linguistics and a minor in French. My curious nature led me from my idyllic hometown (Silverton) to live at various times in New York City, San Francisco, Germany, France and China. Through teaching abroad, I was not only able to wend my way into personally enriching experiences, but to be of service. I ultimately found that service to be more satisfying than globetrotting.

I believe that analogy is the driver of cognition. This means that, as a teacher, my job is primarily to orient abilities that the student has already accrued towards new skills in a way that is personally salient for him or her. The most satisfaction I get as a teacher is when I see that my student has incorporated the skill that I was hired to impart, and I have been made obsolete.

The maj
ority of my free time is spent chasing my son, but I sometimes have time to play board games, or binge watch shows with my wife.

A Brief History of A Cappella
Over the past few years, a cappella has become a popular genre and trend. But what exactly is it? The term a cappella is an Italian term that means "in the manner of the church" or "in the manner of the chapel," referring to the type of music that is sung without the use of musical instruments. History tells us that a cappella music got its beginning in a religious setting, but the genre continues to grow and change as shows like Glee and movies like Pitch Perfect move the style into popular c
