Samir is an excellent language tutor! He can craft lessons to suit any needs whether you are a beginner or advanced! He also provides relevant supplementary materials so that you can practice and apply the theories learned in your lesson. I found that this consistent practice with actual speaking was a big factor to achieving better spoken fluency with my language of study, arabic. I highly recommend Samir as you will not be disappointed.

For homework, Samir sent me several videos of Moroccan dialect. We discussed the vocabulary during the lesson; as always, he provided many examples to demonstrate the broader usage of the words. He is a skilled teacher. Highly recommended.

Experience first. I am a French native with native fluency in English. I have taught hundreds of hours, and I have helped many people reach their language goals. Effectiveness and enjoyment are my two favorite keywords. Since I am very good at learning languages as well as teaching them (I can communicate decently in 8) I am a great ally and mentor for anyone learning a new language. I know many techniques, tools and approaches that really speed up the process. I am also extremely flexible in my approach. Your specific learning style determines how we work together. Meeting many new people and establishing a relationship of trust and mutual appreciation with them. I also love to see people shine and reach their goals. It is always satisfying to show someone how to learn efficiently and enjoyably.

About Jean-Paul
I am a skilled professional language teacher. I teach French, Spanish, English, Italian, Mandarin and Hindi. (all levels). I am a native French speaker but I also have native fluency in English (I have lived in the U.S. since I was a teenager).

Teaching and languages have defined my life. I seek to make learning FUN as well as effective. If you need straight "bring up your grade" "pass a tough test" help, I will also be there for you.

I love to teach and I love meeting a great variety of students. I believe anyone can learn a language and that it can be fun as well. I am very committed to helping all my students reach fluency efficiently.

I always see learning a language as an exciting journey. I have a Master's degree in French from Arizona State and 25 years of teaching experience. I also worked as a language professor at Elmhurst
College, IL and at Indiana University Northwest. I have taught thousands of hours.

With a Swiss degree of pediatric nursing and teaching, I worked more than 15 years with children, families and adult students. Finding the best way to learn depending on who you are and what goals you have is one of my specialties. I like to provide a dynamic and a fun learning environment.
Having learnt as second languages English, Italian, Spanish and German, I’m very aware of the process of learning a new language.
I can provide, vocabulary, grammar, verbs, conversation as well as cultural aspects from different French speaking countries, as I was working with people from France and I spent 3 years in Montreal, Quebec.
I moved in Richmond a year ago with many French books and movies for all ages, that we could use during lessons.

Evelyne volunteered at my daughter’s school while in Canada. She liked to be involved and useful in different school activities involving children of various age groups. She is very reliable and was always patient with the kids. Her love of children was clearly visible at all times. Perhaps more importantly, the children adored her too. Her intelligence, caring nature, sense of humour and her ability to adapt very quickly to the children’s needs makes it easy to highly recommend her for tutoring.

I'm a Certified Interpreter in French (along with Romanian, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese) by the Defense Language Institute Monterrey, California.
Since middle school I loved foreign languages which proved to be very rewarding starting with high school when traveling around the world with shooting competitions.
Visiting France and other French speaking countries on three continents allowed me the affinity of learning different accents and slangs of the same language.

Learning any foreign language opens doors in life whether on personal or professional level, and I sincerely believe that anybody can learn anything disregarding their age; in fact, I have friends who late in life decided to learn foreign languages or various skills that they always wanted to learn, so, I encourage you to do the same.

About Isabela
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested student who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).

I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.

I be
lieve in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.

I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration.

I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.
