I am a mother of two awesome boys. I am married, my first language is Spanish and my kids speak, read and write Spanish. I love to teach specially this great language. Learning Spanish is going to give you confidence and great opportunities to get a job. Spanish is 100% phonetic. Words are pronounced exactly as they are written. It is fun and it's not difficult to learn.

If you are not satisfied with the class, I will offer you a makeup class, because it is very important for me that you feel happy.
I am able to go to your convenience place for you to receive the class.

Thank you for reading my profile. It would be a pleasure to help you learn Spanish. I look forward from you.

About Claudia
I got my bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in my country Colombia. Since 2006, I have been teaching. I love to be a teacher and I love Spanish. I would like to help others to learn it in an easy way and at the same time enjoy the class. I am very proud of my students specially because they want to communicate with hispanic people and they want to understand the language.
I have a lot of patience with everybody, so take your time and don’t be afraid to ask questions. As a teacher I am very passionate with my work which means I am taking this very seriously. My goal is that my students will be able to speak the language well. Many students initially come to me because they want to learn conversational Spanish so they can more easily travel in Latin America or Spain. Often times, however; they end up falling in love with the lang
uage and continuing their studies.
Most of my students have learned how to read Spanish in a month and most of my students have been able to have basic conversations in three months. . It also depends on the student’s dedication to learn Spanish. I will do my best for my part and the rest is you.

I have been taking lessons from Claudia for almost four months and my experience with her has been outstanding. Claudia is an excellent teacher who takes her student's goals and truly makes them her own. When I told her that my goal was to learn Spanish to a conversational level, she described to me what I would need to do in order to obtain that goal.

Here's what I think makes Claudia unique:

* Carefully planned out teaching method. She has a carefully planned out method for teaching Spanish and uses quality materials. She has garnered the best materials and supplemented them with her own. She teaches Spanish in a logical sequence where each step includes material from the previous ones. This has helped me to reinforce the concepts I learned earlier.

* My lessons with her include a mix of grammar, speaking, and listening. It's much easier for me to understand written Spanish than to understand the spoken word or to speak it myself. Claudia makes a point in each lesson to practice speaking and listening to help with this. This has probably been the biggest help to me so far.

* She provides homework customized to my level so I can practice between sessions. Sometimes the homework is an audio recording that she has recorded herself especially for me. The fact that she does this shows how much she cares about her student's success.

* Her patience. She has to be the most patient person I've ever met. Sometimes it takes a while to get a concept or to understand, but she is always happy to repeat herself or slow down. There have been more than a few sessions where she has done this a lot!

* Her encouragement. Learning a new language can be frustrating at times but Claudia is always encouraging and celebrates even the smallest progress.

It seems like there are a lot of Spanish teachers out there who know how to speak Spanish, but I think there are very few who really know how to teach it. Obviously Claudia is a native speaker of Spanish, but she is also an expert teacher. I feel fortunate to have found her and have referred other students to her. I can't recommend her highly enough!

Spanish lessons with me are unique due to the fact that I not only did score too high on my placement test at the university, I was able to learn it swiftly because it is similar to Portuguese (my primary language). I began learning Spanish when I was younger (elementary school) and I also listened to music in Spanish. I watched telenovelas (soaps), I would hear Spanish around me as I grew up. For example, whenever family friends would visit, we would visit them, we spoke over the phone, I took Spanish in high school. I currently interpret for others at work, I speak Spanish with my Spanish speaking coworkers, I speak with my Spanish speaking friends, etc. I will make learning it fun!

About Dorita
Olá (hello), My name is Dorita. My primary language is Portuguese. I also speak English obviously (lol), and Spanish. I am from a Portuguese speaking country, I will let you guess which one during the lesson! I look forward to having fun teaching you! Don't worry about mistakes and asking questions, that is what I am here for. To teach. Hope you enjoy!!
