Spanish I-IV tutoring offered, Spanish phonics and pronunciation assistance

About Daniel
My name is Daniel B. I have my A.A. Degree and I am currently a junior at Washington University in St. Louis. I am majoring both in Psychology and Biology with a strong emphasis on counseling, research and medicine.

My teaching style is quite simple and effective. I initially gauge the student's level of understanding of the subject or skill that he/she wishes to master. I then create a comprehensive learning plan which pushes the student to his/her limits while making the learning process both enjoyable and rewarding.

Daniel was the perfect tutor for my son's prep for the GED. He was patient, prepared to help with test taking skills along with the actual content of the tests, and made himself available on a very short notice. In addition, Daniel is just a nice, respectful person that was a pleasure to interact with. I can not say enough. Highly recommend him!

Jonathan has a demonstrable amount of knowledge about the violin including different playing styles, music theory, and its practical application. His approach is incremental and measured that adapts to my specific strengths and weaknesses intermixed with an appropriate amount of patience. He is also very personable. I always look forward to our lessons together.

Personalised and dynamic classes for all levels!
Lessons are shaped to the student's need: grammar, vocabulary, fluency, accent...

About Raquel
Hi!

I have been tutoring students since I was an undergrad back in Spain. While doing so, I realised there are very few better feelings besides the satisfaction of being a part of the improvement of your student's skills and knowledge.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in philology, so I have a deep knowledge on how languages construct themselves and work. Besides, I have a Master's degree in Literary Studies and am currently a PhD student in Literary Studies. But most importantly, I was born in Madrid (Spain) and lived there for over twenty years, so you'll get to learn Spanish and its culture from a truly Madrilenian!

My tutoring approach is based mostly on theory and practice, with a lot of perseverance! I usually like to teach some aspect of the language and then make the student approach it in a practical way. Lessons can be tailor
ed to meet the student's specific needs, though! Each student is different from the rest, and therefore learns in an individual way and at an individual pace. Personal tutoring will always be provided to ensure you're always getting what you need: grammar, vocabulary, fluency, accent...

Raquel is a very meticulous and gifted teacher. She was well prepared from the very first lesson and she always made sure her explanations were clear before moving on. She helped dispel many doubts I carried along in my mind for a long time in Spanish grammar. The classes are fun, friendly, and are aimed at the serious-minded student. Highly recommended.

Carol is definitely one of the best instructors. She's the perfect combination of what a student needs to learn Spanish. Carol has an amazing pedagogy on top of being a native speaker. Sometimes we forget that being a native speaker does not automatically mean that one knows how to teach, but Carol is great because she knows how to teach her native language. On top of that, she's patient, accommodating and funny, which helps anybody who's trying to learn a new language!

With international experience living, working and studying in Spain, I gained vital Spanish language knowledge that cannot be taught in most classrooms. I graduated cum laude with two Bachelor's degrees in Spanish Language and Public Relations from Texas Tech University (Wreck em'!). My Spanish degree involved grammar, history and business studies. I have experience teaching/tutoring spanish and english in a college preparation program as well as internationally. I have also working in the healthcare industry as a bilingual healthcare specialist. My passion is to help students become bilingual in this competitive and diverse society!

About Motola
Hello! My name is Motola and I graduated cum laude with two Bachelors degrees in Spanish Language and Public Relations from Texas Tech University! My Spanish degree involved grammar, history and business studies. During my time at TTU, I lived, worked and studied in Spain gaining international experience in the Spanish language. There, is where I cultivated a deep love and passion for this language.

While living in Granada, Spain, I worked at a bilingual children's school as an assistant teacher. We conducted the class with both Spanish and some English lessons. During my time at TTU I worked with Upward Bound, a program for first generation high school students (those whose parents do not have a college education), as a mentor and Spanish/english tutor. I was one of the Spanish teachers for the Upward Bound summer program and tutored st
udents throughout the year. In this program, I also conducted bilingual presentations to native Spanish speakers and translated documents.

In this diverse and changing society, it is imperative that students learn a different language; and in Texas, it is even more important that students learn Spanish. That being said, my goal for each student is that they would not just be able to pass their Spanish 2 vocabulary quiz or get a 4 on the Spanish AP Test, but that they would become bilingual and have a competitive edge in our diverse society.

I believe that to learn a language, one must be immersed (in some way) in that language. That is why I will use avenues such as songs, books, articles, movies, etc. to help students grasp the depth of the Spanish Language. This also makes something that is seen as difficult into something exciting and fun! When choosing me as your tutor, you will not only get better grades, but will gain a knowledge that is priceless!
