I can help you with conversation skills, correct pronunciation and proper grammar. I usually use a textbook called ‘Genki’ for my lessons. I provide the textbook so you don’t have to buy it. With ‘Genki’ we can work on various grammar points, vocabulary building, situational role playing, pronunciation, and plenty of exercises to improve your listening and speaking skills.

I try my best to keep the classes as relaxed as possible so that you can feel comfortable speaking and can learn at your own pace.

I grew up in an environment that required Japanese AND English, so I can sympathize with all of you who have a hard time learning the difficult language. After 14 years of studying Japanese at a language school, I have passed the highest leveled Japanese Language Proficiency Test and whizzed through the AP Japanese Language exam. Whatever your goal is, let's get there.

Experienced JAPANESE teacher since 2007, available for students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while building a strong foundation to further develop proficiency in Japanese. Each class is custom made to your own level and needs.

Text book used: Genki, Minnano Nihongo, Japanese for busy people, JLPT preparation books, or your own text book.

Classes are taught online primarily using SKYPE.

I am a native Japanese speaker with a Japanese teaching credential. All ages and levels are welcomed! Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. I am also qualified to tutor graduate students (Master’s and PhD) doing their thesis.
I believe when we learn other languages, it is important to learn their culture, history, etc. for better understanding. I’ve learned Japanese drums, how to wear Kimono, Tea and flower ceremonies so that we can explore Japanese culture more than just learning the language!

Ever since I discovered Dragon Ball Z on Toonami back in the early 2000's, I have come to develop a love of all things Japan, specifically anime and J-pop. My experience with learning Japanese started back when I started studying at home with my older brother back in 1999 or so, and then started studying Japanese at college, which culminated in the completion of a minor in Japanese as part of my BA. I have also visited Japan one time to visit my older brother who was teaching English over there at the time. I love Dragon Ball (among many, many other anime) and T.M. Revolution.
