I highly recommend Wakana-san. I have been taking lessons with her for 3 years. I was a complete beginner and the only exposure I had to Japanese prior to that was from Japanese anime. I am glad that Wakana-san has been very patient with me and putting up with my interests in animation. Her lessons have allowed me to understand the differences between the words and structure used in real life vs. those used in animation. Her ability in explaining the grammar and structure to me has definitely worked much better than any textbooks I have read.

My first trip to Japan last year was enjoyable, thanks to the lessons I have had with Wakana-san. I was able to get around Tokyo without much communication issues.

My goal is to be able to speak and listen to Japanese in a business setting and will continue to have Wakana-san help me reaching this goal.

Wakana has been working with our daughter since she was high school. She wanted to study abroad in Japan and needed to pass exams and interviews.
Wakana made an enormous difference and our daughter was not only learning quickly but showing marked improvement in her progress. She got great grades and receiving strong, positive feedback from her teachers. Wakana formed a wonderful working relationship with her. I cannot recommend Wakana highly enough!

Wakana is an incredibly gifted teacher!
I have been studying Japanese with her for almost ten years. She is bright, warm, flexible, and she has a wonderful sense of humor. Anyone interested in learning the language would be lucky to have her as a teacher!

"I have been taking private Japanese classes with Emi S. for one year and a half. Before I started she asked me whether I wanted to focus on just the conversational side of Japanese or the complete knowledge of the language including kanji. For me it was all.

She is proud of her heritage and enjoys talking about Japan and her culture, which makes the class even more enjoyable. She is dedicated, enthusiastic and organized.

I am sure that with her help I will be able to meet my goal of one day passing the JLTP N1.

I recommend her for classes of any level."

"Wow, I want to give ***** 6 Stars! If you are wanting to learn Japanese, then Kyoko is the perfect teacher that anyone could ask for!
I felt embarrassed to seek help to learn Japanese, because after many years of living in Tokyo for my work, I only knew a few small communicating words here and there... arigato, genki etc... and the writing, well that was 'impossible' to read for me!!
Kyoko was very understanding and made me feel completely comfortable about learning the Japanese language from the beginning. At almost 40 years old and trying to push my brain into learning something new, this was challenging and made me nervous at times. But Kyoko is an amazing teacher and when I finished a lesson with her, I was so proud with what I had accomplished and she made me feel empowered and more driven. I can now understand words in hirigana!! It is amazing to me.
I thank Kyoko so much for her help and support with the lessons we had together :) I will do my best."
