Howdy! I have an undergraduate degree in Classics and an MA in ancient history, and I have been teaching/tutoring since 2009. I know first-hand how much hard work can achieve, but my experience in teaching has also taught me that the work doesn't have to be so hard when a student has experienced, dedicated help. That's what I'm here for! I have done both paid and volunteer teaching, and I have worked both for myself and for a university. I have taught a wide range of students - ADD students, injured students unable to attend normal classes, struggling students - in a variety of environments. I have experience teaching to groups and individuals; face-to-face, chat-room style, and via video conferencing. I teach language because I have a passion for it, and my goal with my students, whether they are learning a new language or furthering their native English skills, is always to help them achieve their own language learning goals. I look forward to helping you achieve yours!+ Read More

A former teacher of mine referred a struggling high-school student of his to me. The student was ADD and had missed several classes due to illness. My job was to teach him the Greek he should have been learning in class to prepare him to rejoin his classmates in the following school-year.+ Read More
I graded assignments, quizzes, and exams for all levels of Japanese classes, excepting advanced exams.
I made myself available as needed to all levels of current Japanese students to help with homework, exam preparation, and study strategies. I was also occasionally asked by a teacher to teach a student who had, due to injury, illness, etc., missed too many classes to continue without extra help. My job in that case was to teach all the language which the student had missed and prepare them to continue with their classmates.+ Read More
I made myself available at set times each week to struggling students in beginner and intermediate courses. I also allowed students to set up extra meetings outside of my set hours to help them prepare for exams.

Emily is a natural teacher and connected well with my 10 year old son. She started with the basic Hiragana and then built upon that foundation with more challenging material and conversation. School is starting so our time is now limited, but I'm so glad we worked with Emily this summer.+ Read More

Miss Emily is a wonderful teacher,
Emily was pretty helpful. I went into the lesson knowing virtually nothing about speaking Japanese and now I have a basic understanding of the construction of the language.

Emily has been doing an awesome job of bringing my son back on track. My son is new to Latin and has started Latin in 6th grade. Emily is patient, clear and motivating in helping him understand fundamentals. Thank you Emily.
She really starts at the basic levels for beginners and builds up slowly so it is very easy to understand. The homework is very easy and fun at the same time while learning. I recommend her for beginners.

ENGLISH, WRITING, READING... AMAZING TEACHER :)
Do not be fooled by the fact that there are fewer student reviews than you expected. You must think about how to learn English more easily than to try to learn by yourself or at an English course.I attended a 1 year English course, but it did not help improve my English as much as my teacher, Emily, did. Also, the most important thing is that even if you are not in the good mood it doesn't matter for her to make you focus on the class. Her way to teach language is so good and understandable. She is amazing teacher like I've never had before. You just need to know what you want. She will be ready to help you. Even my husband is amazed how I improved my English this fast.
I am so happy to take the class from her. That's why my sister who lives in Turkey started taking the class.
Emily is an awesome teacher she is kind, patient and efficient in her style of teaching, i really enjoyed my classes with her and look forward to hooking back up in the near future!!!! If you're looking for a great teacher Emily is the way to go!!! M
