Ms. Janai was the best tutor I have ever had. No matter the day, or time she was always there to help me out. Either it was math, science, writing, etc. she'd help me with every subject no matter how long it took for me to get it right, every subject was like her first nature. She was amazing teaching in person and just as good online. I've never met another tutor like Janai, she understands what you're going wrong and what your difficulties are, but she always manages to turn those difficulties around and make you better at understanding what you need to do better in order to succeed. If you're looking for an outstanding tutor Janai is the way to go!

Spanish teacher with 10 years experience teaching and tutoring Spanish. Geographic area is Mexico. The goal is for students to be able to actively use the language and not be afraid to experiment. The focus is on meaningful conversation and reading authentic texts. Classes are creative, fun and held to 95% in the target language.

About Annika
My first tutoring experience took place in first grade when I was asked to assist a newly arrived Vietnamese girl with her English. I myself had learned English when I first came to the United States at three years of age and could relate well to some of the issues the newcomer was facing.

A true global nomad, I have lived in Germany, the U.S., Mexico and Russia and have traveled extensively. Starting with English and German, and eventually Spanish, French and Russian, I have been instructing students since 1989 in various countries of a variety of ages in a multitude of informal and formal settings.

In 1990, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies from George Mason University. In 1995, I completed my Masters Degree in Secondary Education/Teaching English as a Second Language. After one year of working in a public school
setting, I began teaching privately and on a freelance basis for a number of private companies and language schools, and the government.

I want to become a spanish tutor because I want to help others, transmit my knowledge and improve students communication skills. I also do think tutoring improves creativity and independence. Motivates self-paced and self-directed learning and fosters self esteem and self confidence. As a native speaker i will be an example of what life is like in Sout America and evaluate from a native perspective.

About Maria Carolina
Hola estudiantes! I am a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I attended the University of Buenos Aires and received my bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from that institution. I have been teaching spanish in the US for more than 6 years !! I have been speaking English throughout my entire life and have fluent command in reading, writing, listening and speaking the English language. Furthermore, my past position in a US Government entity in Buenos Aires and my experience here in the United States have developed my knowledge and understanding of American culture and communication.
Both the Spanish language and Latin culture are becoming more present in the United State
s. I truly love my culture and my language, so the opportunity to teach them to other people who are from a different background excites me. Since I am from Argentina, I will offer a unique perspective to the students on what life is like in South America. I will serve as an example for what it is like to listen to a native speaker and I will be able to evaluate student’s speech from the viewpoint of a native speaker.
I have a great appreciation for American culture and have several years of experience working with American teenagers and adults while working at the US Government entity in Buenos Aires.
I managed the Internship Program which gave students an opportunity to gain work experience and improved their Spanish skills like comprehension, reasoning, understanding , writing and speaking. They really enjoyed having their latin american experience.
Since my husband is American , I have been teaching him for almost six years and he is making progress. He is very happy and very excited in learning new words, expressions and idiomas and he is working very hard to become fluent in Spanish
I love to be a spanish tutor because I like to help others, transmit my knowledge and improve students communication skills. I also do think tutoring improves creativity and independence. Tutoring provides greater congruence between teacher and learner, improves academic performance and personal growth. Motivates self-paced and self-directed learning and fosters self esteem and self confidence.
I am very a passionate and hard working person and i believe that being a tutor in Spanish is a very rewarding and interesting experience for me and for my students. I love the Spanish language and culture, because of my past teachers and professors. I realize that languages are not for everyone and that most high school students are taking world languages because of graduation requirements. I hope that through my enthusiasm of teaching Spanish that I can make learning a different language a little bit more fun and might spark some to fall in love with languages also.

About Beverley
When tutoring, I love seeing a student that just does not get a concept and then they realize that it makes sense and that it just comes naturally. Part of the reason that most students don’t get it is, because they have a mental block, it is too hard, or they believe they just can not do it. This is where the coaching in me comes in, because I can build confidence in students that they can do anything that they put their mind to in order to overcome perceived obstacles. I truly believe that anyone can learn a language.

As an undergrad in Spanish, I enjoyed being the Student President and member of the Spanish Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi. I also graduated with the honor of the Mexican Embassy Award for Excellence in Spanish. As a graduate student of teaching students with different needs, I had the opportunity to learn the many differe
nt ways that students learn and understood more in-depth the special needs of all students.
