I've been teaching French for 6 years and my students have gone on to develop a deep love of French culture, study abroad in French speaking countries, and more! Within the first few lessons, you'll start speaking simple sentences and as time goes on, you'll be able to conjugate like a pro! I typically use the living language books, and have the following tools available for your lessons: recording equipment, worksheets, textbooks, and more. I love working with students of all experience levels and can't wait to meet you!
Hi, there! My name is Helen and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2009 and have loved helping my students to speak a new language, to successfully pass their exams, and to increase their language confidence. I went to National University of Donetsk (Ukraine) and earned a Master’s degree in French language and literature in 2010. I'm a patient and easy going person and my teaching methods always depend on student’s age and language needs. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

Indulge yourself by learning languages. It opens your prospect to a new different world with a different culture, you feel like you gain a new person and a new experience while networking with new people around you. I personally admire languages and would like to share this passion with you. I invite you to start expanding your horizon by choosing a new language. I came recently to U.S. and I was tutoring languages "Arabic, French and English" back in my country. I hope to build a good reputation here too with my students. I'm so patient toward kids, and I like to innovate methods to engage early learners (songs, stories, games...). My only goal is to reach your needs and desire to learn then proceed from there in a fun immersion method.

Whether you are brand new to the language or have been studying for awhile- I would love to be your guide on your language journey!
I Connected very well with Gina. The fact that I’m Brazilian and she also speaks Portuguese is perfect.
She can show the difference and the mistakes we Brazilian do when we speak Spanish. Looking forward our next lesson.

Hey there! I'm Amanda! Let's work together on your goals towards learning French! Unlike everyone else listed here, I am not a language teacher, I am a language COACH. It's 2018; let's learn languages like it's the 21st century! As a PhD candidate at the University of Florida studying Linguistics, I have studied all the best ways to learn a language and would love to share my passion with you!
As your coach, I'll help you focus on your goals and hold you accountable for accomplishing them. I promote student agency and will help you to make your own choices about your own learning; this way each lesson fits your individual needs and differences. As your own language and success coach, we will not only work together to understand the target language vocabulary and grammar, but we will also delve into the metacognitive and self-regulatory skills necessary to study quickly and efficiently, feel comfortable speaking the language, and get ahead in other areas of your life as well!
Hi there! I'm Amanda!
Congratulations on starting/continuing your language journey in French! I would love to join you! I'm a PhD student at the University of Florida studying Linguistics with a specialization in Second Language Acquisition (aka the best ways to learn languages)!!! Different, from the other individuals listed here, I am not a language teacher, I am a language COACH. It's time to learn a language like it's the 21st century! Let's work together to reach your goals!
What is a language coach?
As a language coach, I enable students to focus on their goals and hold them accountable for accomplishing them. I promote student agency and allow students to make choices about their own learning; this way each lesson fits their individual needs and differences. As your own language and success coach, we will not only work t
ogether to understand the target language vocabulary and grammar, but we will also delve into the metacognitive and self-regulatory skills necessary to study quickly and efficiently, feel comfortable speaking the language, and get ahead in other areas of your life as well!
My mission for each lesson is to provide a language learning experience unique in its approach to incorporate strategy instruction including reducing foreign language anxiety, building agency, and developing self-regulated learning skills. My coaching objective is to help learners reach their second language goals through not only language teaching, but student empowerment as well. I aim to help students realize and build their own agency, resulting in a self-actualized, relaxed, and engaged learning environment. Through this one-of-a-kind coaching method, success is having my students end each tutoring session feeling positive, and eventually ending tutoring sessions all together knowing that they are competent, intelligible, and composed speakers of the target language.
I have been a language instructor and coach since 2009 teaching children English in France through the TAPIF program. I have taught/coached undergraduates French at both the Ohio University (where I earned my BA and MA in French) and the University of Florida (where I am earning my PhD in Linguistics). Further, I have taught English as a Second Language at the University of Florida as well as Santa Fe College.
As a researcher, I have focused my life's work and dissertation on the topic of lowering Foreign Language Anxiety in foreign language learners. Foreign Language Anxiety is often cited as the number 1 correlation to achievement in acquiring the target language. Do you get nervous when you attempt to speak the language that you've learned? Are you scared what others are going to think of you? Do you have perfectionist tendencies? Well, helping you manage Foreign Language Anxiety while learning French would be exactly my skill set!
While I am a seasoned, SLAT (Second Language Acquisition and Teaching) certified instructor and am able to teach at the university level, tutoring is my true passion. I began tutoring in 2008 at Ohio University and I have not stopped since. My youngest tutee was 4 years old and my oldest tutee, who is still working with me, is 72 years old. I can cater to all ages, language levels, individual differences, objectives and goals, attitudes, and motivation levels. Send me a message with any questions that you have, and we can chat and set some goals for your language learning journey.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you in any way possible in the world of French or ESL! Talk to you soon! :)
Being born and raised in Geneva, the French-speaking part of Switzerland, French is my mother tongue. With a Swiss degree of pediatric nursing and teaching, I worked more than 15 years with children, families and adult students. Finding the best way to learn depending on who you are and what goals you have is one of my specialties. I like to provide a dynamic and a fun learning environment. Having learnt as multiple second languages, such as English, Italian, Spanish and German, I’m very aware of the process of learning a new language. I can provide vocabulary, grammar, verbs, conversation as well as cultural aspects from different French speaking countries, as I was working with people from France and I spent 3 years in Montreal, Quebec. I moved to Richmond two years ago, bringing many French books for all ages, that could be used during lessons.
I’m a french native speaker from Switzerland. I moved from Geneva, two years ago for my husband’s work. He’s a pediatric clinical and research physician at VCU (MCV). I’m the mother of two teenagers at the Steward's School. We are a native French speaking family. I have worked since 1999 as a pediatric nurse and a nursing instructor for critical care children and neonates. I have Swiss degrees in nursing, pediatric, critical care, lactation consultant and pedagogy/teaching. I love to tutor/teach to share my knowledge of French language and culture, using my pedagogical background and a good sense of humour. I enjoy very much getting to know my students to make sure they get the best learning experience.

I grew up in a French school leaning the history and ins and out of the French language. I have experienced the culture first hand through my several travels to France. I have also taken Latin classes which enabled me to learn more about the history pf the language. With me you will not only discover a new language, but will also uncover the beautiful history behind it.
My name is Mirchaye pronounced "Mer-Shy." I was born in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, where I was raised and completed my high school education. I attended a Lycee Francais, which is where I learned French. Fan Fact: It was the first language I learned how to read and write in even before my native language: Amharic.
At 17, I moved to the U.S., where I currently reside pursuing a career in Communications/Media.
For as long as I can remember, I loved to write and teach. My love for writing began when I got my first journal in the 8th grade. I loved it and wrote in it literally everyday. And, I first started teaching as an English Teaching Assistant volunteer at an orphanage in Ethiopia. I then also started teaching French.
Once I moved to the US and was attending college, I saw the need for language tutors so I applied
for a job as French Tutor. I worked there till I graduated college. Another fun fact: My first paid job was as a French Tutor. After college, I taught private French classes to high school and college students.
I now speak about 4 languages fluently. I will make learning fun & exciting. And, coming from a background of speaking different languages I know hoe best to teach someone a totally different language. I understand the learning curve in other words. I am currently teaching my husband, who's American, Amharic and it's been fun.
I loved her enthusiasm, professionalism and how she was always prepared to give her lesson. Indeed a great instructor! Merci Mirchaye🤗🤗

Mirchaye was extremely friendly and kind. She is quick to respond regarding appointments and scheduling. She provides me with feedback regularly on how I'm progressing, which I think is vital. She is always punctual and professional. I would highly recommend her tutoring service!
"The lesson today was very valuable and challenging. We worked on things that were top of my mind to go forward and Fabrice spent a good deal of time layin
g a solid ground in pronunciation and conversation."
"Its a fun class. You should join."
"I took lessons with Evelyne wanting to refresh my high-school French and she's been fantastic. She brings the best attitude, very encouraging, helpful, an
d patient. Not only is she a native speaker (which is great), she also understands the grammatical structure of the language very well and knows how to present new material in a way that doesn't overwhelm you. She followed up every lesson with an email which made it easier for me to memorize new vocabulary. Overall, it's been a great experience and I highly recommend her."
"David is very patient instructor, he makes the session fun and interesting. He explains what he is teaching the importance of it. David also provides not

"Great instructor, gives useful homework, very easy going and keeps the learning experience relaxed."
"Tania is very knowledgeable about the subject matter. I am 76 years old and she is extremely patient with me. She also has many different ways of presenti

"I adore Meriem! She is a really kind and engaging teacher. It's always fun having a French conversation with her!"
"Superb teacher. The lessons are fun, interesting, and immensely productive. Each session is packed with conversation practice, notes and guidance on gra
