I beleive that anyone can be successful at learning a new language. I am new to professional tutoring, but I have spent the last several years of my life not only studying Spanish in High School and College, but also studying independently, and learning by immersion in Mexico (18 months).
During that time, I have learned a lot about how to effectively learn a language, and I have enjoyed the opportunities I have had to mentor people along the way. I would love to work with anyone, whether you are struggling in class, preparing to go abroad, or even needing some help practicing the basics to help you stand out in your profession.
We can create a plan to help you get from where you are to where you hope to be.
Since a service trip to Nicaragua that I went on in High School, I have been passionate about learning Spanish. I had taken Spanish classes in High School previously, but once I decided to make it my own personal mission to learn Spanish, I sought out every resource I could find and took every opportunity I could get my hands on in order to independently study and practice.
Right after graduation, I accepted an assignment from my church to serve as a missionary in Mexico. This was basically a dream come true for me. For 18 months, I lived in and around Mexi
During that time, not only did I become more motivated to improve my Spanish, but I also developed a love for teaching English. So many people who I interacted with were eager for opportunities to practice and learn my native toungue. I tried my best to teach and practice English with them as much as I could, and I found it to be extremely fulfilling.
Since being back in the US, I have gotten married, had a baby, and studied to be a Spanish/English interpreter. I am excited for this opportunity to be a Spanish and ESL tutor at this time so that I can continue pursuing my passion and sharing it with others!
Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions!

I am a dedicated Spanish teacher with years of experience teaching English speakers French. Just recently I translated for a Hospital in Guyana and I also got to teach citizens from English-speaking countries, Spanish. In just two weeks, results were evident. This was due to my ability to understand common mistakes that students learning these make and ways to get around them. I am passionate about facilitating productive cross-cultural relationships and creating extensive informational material that would help students increase the level of verbal and written communication on the basic level. I believe I can strengthen each student’s foundation in Spanish subsequently allowing him or her to gravitate to higher levels.
I am Nicholas Roberts and I am pleased to be your language teacher for as long as you so desire.
I would like to start by introducing myself on a more personal level. I am originally from Guyana and I speak 10 languages. My native tongue is English but I am fluent in French and Spanish too. I have always had a burning desire to teach languages and now that I have the opportunity, I will make the very best of it.
I hold an International Baccaulerate Diploma and I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's in teaching. I was a French to English/Engl
My teaching method is much more fluid but at the end of lessons, students begin to speak more and more of the specified language. I believe that a foundation in the language into which one wishes to venture is very important as that determines the entire outcome of lessons and the strength of the vocabulary of the student.
Being the English speaker that I am, to maximize and encourage learning, I am acquainted with common grammatical mistakes with pronunciation and phrase structure that English speakers would make in the specified language and how to avoid the aforementioned mistakes at all times. I try to make my courses as less academic as possible and fun for the learner so that a passion may develop for the language.
In my two years of teaching languages, I came up with common loopholes and shortcuts to conquer tough languages and subsequently make sentences like a native and even sound like a native which is the ultimate goal.
