Teaching French is my current career, so this is what I do for living everyday with dedication, patience and endurance to make learning French for my students a fun journey.

I am so proud (as well as my director) of the number of emails and positive feedback I received from satisfied families who had their children live the experience of learning French as a second language with me. My son felt very comfortable with Saïd right from the start. Saïd is very warm and natural with his students. His level of French is exceptional and he motivates the children to try their best every day. I am happy with the French and other school/social skills that my child learned from Saïd and I highly recommend him.

Within the first few lessons, you'll start speaking simple sentences and as time goes on, you'll be able to conjugate like a pro! I typically use the living language books, and have the following tools available for your lessons: recording equipment, worksheets, textbooks, and more. Initially I like to evaluate the student's current comprehension level (regardless of years studied) to better select the appropriate starting point. From there, if there is a specific subject matter or course work/syllabus for a class that needs to be followed, I can tailor lessons to fit those needs. Throughout lessons, I like to bring in elements such as cartoons, newspapers, movie clips, etc. to aid in understanding everyday usage & make learning practical and pertinent to the student.

**30 minute lessons are available for students interested in Conversational French practice (for Intermediate/Advanced Only). Please send me a message if you are interested & we can discuss how to arrange through TakeLessons.

** Discounts will be made available for students wishing to take more than 1 Lesson per week. Please send me a message to make this arrangement.

About Kenji Luis
I grew up speaking English, Portuguese & Japanese in a multilingual family and from a young age developed a strong affinity & penchant for languages. I attended an English-Portuguese Bilingual school through 6th grade and studied Japanese 4 years in high school, along with weekend Japanese school classes. In college I went on to major in International Relations & Diplomacy with a concentration in French studies, also honing my Spanish that I had picked up along the way (with Romance Languages, I have a very easy time of language absorption). I've gone on to work for international companies wherein my language skills have been highly sought after, translating & communicating often in all my language strengths.

So, you want to speak French? I love this language! I earned my minor in French at the University of Michigan, during which time I tutored the subject and helped frustrated students to actually enjoy the class and bring up their grades! Let's get together and start speaking this beautiful language in a fun, enthusiastic way.

About Stacey
I am a lifelong student of many subjects. My approach to teaching is one of patience and enthusiasm. I do my best to understand the student's learning style and teach accordingly.
I have been a professional actor, model, and singer for 10 years. I specialize in on-camera acting for TV commercials, industrial video, and host. Most of the modeling I've done is commercial print and live promotional modeling. I've taught group acting classes to kids ages 6-17, including on-camera auditioning, stage directions, script analysis, and business skills (headshot/resume, finding an agent, industry terms, etc.).
My singing experience includes pop, musical theatre, and jazz. I've coached students who believed they were hopeless, and they were pleased to discover their gifts and see growth!
I am a certified yoga instructor (RYT-200) and have taught
for 3 years, both group classes and privately.
I minored in French in college and tutored beginning French.
My motto: Never stop learning!

Trying to sing in front of someone is very intimidating for me but Stacey made me feel comfortable from the start. She was very professional and the lesson took a very logical sequence that I could understand. In the past I took lessons from another teacher and my experience with Stacey far exceeded my previous experience and exceeded my expectations...with her help I may actually be able carry a tune!
