Hola, cómo estás? I am a certified native teacher. I was born in Madrid, Spain (Europe), and I live in California since 2014. I love teaching, and have all my life. I know how to teach you Spanish in the best way, with funny and effective classes, with patience, and with speaking slowly and clearly. You will learn the best proper pronunciation, our customs and our expressions. You will be able to speak with expressions, accent, emphasys and more different options of the language that only can be taught by natives teachers.
We will learn by enjoying and practicing, through one to one conversation, exercises, repetitions and homework.
Should be great as well to do lessons with 2 students . It is cheaper and works really really good.

Nos vemos ! :)

Saludos, Javier

Javier is a great teacher, he takes his time with you to make sure you know the work. He always gives homework and is also very nice, and working with him is very comfortable! He makes sure you’re pronouncing the words correctly, and also how to use words in each different sentence. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to learn Spanish!

I have volunteered at a center for a little over one teaching English to Spanish Speaker. I have also taught a few friends how to speak Spanish. Although I am not a native speaker, many people have said that I sound fluent and they even thought that I was a Native Spanish speaker. I have taught myself Spanish reading books, listening to music, and talking with some of my friends. I enjoy speaking. I accept anyone willing to learn Spanish. I will be teaching vocabulary and grammar. I would call myself a efficient teacher, because I teach at your speed, if you don't understand, I won't leave you confused and unprepared to speak Spanish. I also prefer to keep my teaching alive, even I believe that a boring teacher can be difficult to learn from. Most importantly: don't be afraid to ask questions (I don't judge, I just want you to learn) and don't be afraid to speak (It is important to be brave and speak, don't worry if you might be wrong you're learning. Speaking Spanish is a form of ...

I have been teaching a variety of different types of students for the last four years. I have taught young children, all the way up through to adults. I think what makes my lessons unique is that I love to have FUN. The only way to learn a language is when students are relaxed and enjoying themselves, so that is the type of environment I like to have in my classes.

"I have been taking lessons from Robert for about 6 months and it has been a great experience. Robert takes a very individualized approach and works incredibly hard both during and between lessons to make the lessons relevant to where I am both in terms of the level of content and making the topics covered interesting. It is also obvious that Robert is - at the end of it all - a really good person who is enjoyable to spend time with while learning about both language and culture."

Spanish Resources in Riverside

Are you thinking about taking Spanish lessons in Riverside? Riverside is only a few hours away from Tijuana, so it's no surprise that the city has plenty of resources for Spanish students. The city boasts many Spanish events and restaurants that are especially valuable for both cultural and educational reasons. If you're taking Spanish lessons in Riverside, you might want to consider brushing up on your skills and learning more about the culture at one of these local destinations.

Annual Events

Día de los Muertos: Celebrate the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) at the annual celebration located in downtown Riverside's White Park. Taste authentic Mexican cuisine, watch traditional Aztec dancers, and enjoy live Spanish music. If you want to fully participate in the sacred holiday, you can honor a departed loved one by placing their picture at the community altar.

Riverside Tamale Festival: In the 18th century, a Pueblo man named Lorenzo Trujillo settled in the area now known as La Placita de los Trujillos. His home and other remnants of the old Spanish town are gone, but the neighborhood still celebrates him as a symbol of the region's Hispanic heritage. In an effort to preserve this heritage, a collection of community leaders began hosting the Riverside Tamale Festival.

Each spring, the Spanish Town Heritage Foundation treats downtown Riverside to a family-oriented cultural event. Sample craft beer in the beer garden, watch the heated tamale eating contest, and enjoy performances by dancers and singers. You'll immerse yourself in the Spanish-speaking community, while participating in local efforts to preserve it.

Cinema Culturas Film Fest Inland Empire: In 2014, southern California's most influential and talented Hispanic filmmakers converged in Riverisde to celebrate their cultures and showcase their art. It was a huge success, and today, the Cinemas Culturas Film Fest Inland Empire is an annual tradition. The three-day festival is a can't-miss event if you're interested in watching critically acclaimed Spanish-language films.

Each year's festival features screenings of full-length feature films, documentaries, student films, short films, animated films, and more. The festival usually opens with a gala at the Fox Performing Arts Center, with the local AMC and college library hosting the screenings.

Authentic Spanish Restaurants

Cafe Sevilla: Near the historic Mission Inn, Cafe Sevilla offers a culinary tour through Spain with a few stops in South America. The family-friendly restaurant is Riverside's most authentic and popular destinations for Spanish dishes. Eat "la familia style" to recreate Spain's tradition of shared, five-course meals. Split up to 10 different tapas, all with Spanish names to match their authentic ingredients.

Eduardo's: A community fixture since 1994, Eduardo's Mexican Restaurant serves dishes that transport you straight to Southwest Mexico. Michoacán, a state in this Spanish-speaking region, is the inspiration behind every item on the menu. Affordable lunch specials and ice cold Coronas keep the restaurant accessible, while authentic dishes such as the caldo michoacana and bistéc con huevos distinguish it from all the wannabes and fusion restaurants in the city.

Riverside has many resources for Spanish learners from cultural events to specialty restaurants. Perfect your Spanish-speaking skills by visiting any one of the locations mentioned above.
