An immersive, cultural experience that will allow the student to experience Spanish as native speakers do.

About Nicolas
Hello there, future string players and welcome to my profile!!

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in Miami, FL. I started my musical career at the age of 8, singing in chorus, playing the recorder, and shortly afterwards moving to the guitar, and the violin.

When I was 15, I was nominated for a James L. Knight Award in Music, and I performed as a violin soloist with the Miami Beach Symphony Orchestra, and the Greater Miami Youth Symphony playing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major. One of my most memorable experiences when I was a kid! In high school, I formed my own string quartet and we would perform all over the South Florida community especially at hospitals and for the elderly. At 16 years old, I was also given an internship with the New World Symphony, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, for about 2
years. During this time, I was able to take lessons from master violinists such as Marc Thayer and Glen Cherry. During this time, I was given the opportunity to perform with the New World Symphony at 17 years old for pops concert conducted and performed by Chuck Mangione in El Doral, FL.

I later on accepted a scholarship for violin performance at the University of Miami for my Bachelor of Music, and earned my Master of Music from Florida State University. I also taught string orchestras for 10 years at Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, South Florida Youth Symphony as conductor (and now composer!), and conductor of the Greater Miami Youth Symphony. I was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Alhambra Orchestra for two seasons under the guidance of my high school orchestra teacher, Mr. Reginald Nicholson (1947-2011). It was here where I was able to work on my compositions, orchestrations, and conduct a fine group of musicians.

I now live in sunny Los Angeles, in the Sherman Oaks area, and I'm loving the new change. I am eager to share my knowledge with new students on various subjects such as learning a string instrument to learning a different language. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your goals for learning!

LESSON DETAILS
I have been teaching music as an adult, certified teacher since I was in college, but have done teaching as early as 15 years old.

I will help you create a fantastic technical base so you will be able to play with ease as your skill level develops, all while keeping the lessons fun and engaging.

MUSIC STUDIO
Piano, Violin, Guitar, Music Stand, General Teaching Aids, Recording Equipment.

TRAVEL EQUIPMENT
I can provide a music stand and basic materials but the student is expected to have their own instruments and to buy the music I recommend. I can recommend various vendors/shops where you can buy the ideal instrument for your lessons.

EXPERTISE
I am classically-trained musician that also specializes in Tango performance, Latin/Jazz, Rock, and a variety of other styles. I believe that training in the classical aesthetic will create a firm, solid foundation to crossover into other areas listed above. With a good dose of technical exercises, scales, and a variety of repertoire, my students always turn out well-rounded, ready to tackle almost any kind of music they wish to learn.

Thank you for stopping by and let me know what you would like to learn!

I took 8 years of Spanish classes and lived in Ecuador where I used Spanish on a daily basis.

My teaching philosophy is to help students engage in learning. I find that a personal connection to new information makes it more engaging and meaningful, and students remember it better too. It's also more fun.

That being said, if learning is more readily achieved for your student through other methods, we will do whatever works best. I cater to results, because my ultimate goal is the student's success.

About Joshua
I am a tutor who earned a music teaching degree, substitute taught, and didn't become a school teacher. I held professional tech retail jobs and am supplementing my life with my passion - education.

Whatever subject or instrument I teach, I celebrate students' successes; and I enjoy helping learners have new aha moments.

The majority of my students take guitar, bass guitar, or Spanish lessons. I am an educator and help my students learn other skills and knowledge sets too.

I went to Ohio State University for college, earned a BA in Music Education, and graduated Cum Laude. I also spent 4 years in the Ohio State University Marching Band.

Through my healing journey, I've developed patience, insight, and understanding for my students' learning processes.

I'm excited to help you incorporate new skills into your life!

My students will expect mucho from my lessons. I have been teaching Spanish for more than 25 years. I will apply the strategies and techniques that I have been learning and applying during my teaching career. I'm a teacher that expect to see my students happy learning my native language. I never stop teaching a lesson about a grammar or vocabulary that the student has difficulty with. I expect my students to be satisfy at the end of each lesson. I always use oral and/or written assessments at the end of each lesson to make sure that my students understood the grammar and vocabulary studied during the session.

About Nelson
Hola, I have been teaching my native language for more than 20 years. I just retired from the Hackensack School District. I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. After finishing my superior education in Colombia, I decided to come to this country with my family for a better life, and to continue my teaching career.
I will try my best to help any students or business professionals learning Spanish by applying all the teaching-learning techniques I have acquired over all these years. I will teach you based on your knowledge or skills of Spanish using the four important learning aspects: listening, speaking, reading, writing, so you will be able to improve or have progress during the teaching/learning sessions.

I have been teaching for 24 years. My teaching style focuses on communication and exchange from the beginning with a solid foundation on the formal aspects too. I favor individual differences and the student's own pace of learning. Debate and discussion are an important part of my teaching style in the intermediate and advanced levels.
I favor a friendly atmosphere with meaningful exchange throughout my lessons.

About Carlos
I have been a language teacher for more than 24 years. I have a B.A. in English Language and Literature and my curriculum includes several subjects related to Spanish grammar, composition, phonetics and literature, so apart from being my native language (I am Cuban) I have the necessary academic knowledge to teach Spanish to speakers of other languages.

I have worked mainly with adults in colleges and language schools. At the university level I worked with students from different professional interests, so I am familiar with teaching the language for specific academic skills. I have also tutored individual adults and teenagers. At present I am also teaching children in an after school program.

In my teaching I favor the communicative approach with meaningful exchanges and with a solid foundation on the formal aspects of the langua
ge too. I also pay attention to individual needs so that students can progress at their own pace.

At the intermediate and advanced levels I favor the use of meaningful discussions and debate about updated issues, so that the students can learn how to express their true opinions and ideas properly in different contexts.

I believe in fostering a friendly atmosphere and making the teaching experience a meaningful human exchange.

I have been teaching Spanish since 1973, when I was 20 years old.
I did it for 10 years long (and still do) and I used so many methods that I finally came up with my own method to teach students of any age, any background and any motivation to learn a system that efficient, that will have you speak Spanish, and have a normal conversation from lesson one! I focus on verbs and practical conversation but no nonsense stories most books have. Books are only optional! And I am available also in between lessons and for as long as you need me in your lifetime with no retainer fees! The vocabulary is Latin American real life as you see it in the news! And best of all, I speak Spanish since I was 7 years old, when I used to live in Uruguay! I speak and teach 7 languages, soI know what is is to learn a foreign language and I know how to make it easier for you!

About Robert
My name is Robert Mirza. I have a Spanish Teaching Degree from The Netherlands and I started teaching since 1973. I also have an Associate Degree in Applied Arts in Advertising Design from the Art Institute of Houston. I combine art with any language to teach children up to 2nd grade to make it fun. For any other student I use my innovative method without books, some sites in the net and we immediately start speaking the language the student wants to learn. But I still have the best books on demand if needed. I customize my lessons to the needs of my students and I am available 24/7 for any questions to make it as easy as possible for my students, no matter their age.
