As a Russian Native, accomplished instructor with 20+ years experience, second generation educator, mother of a six year old boy and mentor to over 100 students, I know all the ins and outs when it comes to instilling a lifelong passion for this beautiful language.
My record shows fast results with my students, no matter which direction they decide to go with their training.
I believe in students really enjoying their lessons, and with me, they always look forward to coming back for more. I'm very knowledgeable with many methods on the market, and I create an individual approach to each of my students.
I have taught piano for about 20 years, with great success. Some of my students are as young as 3 years old, some are in their 70s, and everything in between. I love to teach piano and Russian Language, it gives me great joy and personal satisfaction. I've traveled the world in concert, but after having my child, I have settled in Beverly Hills, CA where I perform for and teach many celebrities and their children.
I am very patient, caring and encouraging in my teaching approach.
I hope to hear from you soon, and to have you among my many happy students.
My Musical and Education Background
I studied piano since the age of five. At nine I won my first international pian
After graduating I embarked fully on my musical journey - since then, my music has touched many people around the world, including members of U.S. Troops and U.N. Officials throughout Asia and Europe. In 2003, I became the first Russian-American female pianist to travel overseas to entertain the U.S. Troops. I embarked on two world tours on behalf of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department (MWR) of the U.S. Navy.
I then continued on a solo tour to entertain the U.S. Troops in September 2003, which brought me to the countries of Italy, Spain, and Greece. In February 2004, I went to Asia, where I performed for troops in Guam, Korea, Japan, Okinawa, and Singapore with Navy MWR. Upon completion of my performance tours, I moved to Los Angeles, California.
My move to Los Angeles brought me to the heart of the Hollywood elite, as I was the weekly performer at the legendary Polo Lounge in The Beverly Hills Hotel from 2006 until 2012. Due to my interactions with individuals in the likes of Kardashian family, the Osbourne family, Mel Gibson, Sir Elton John, among others, I now continue to be in demand for private and charitable events. To date, I recorded eight CDs of original, classical, and popular music.
My “Free Floating” album won the “2010 Best Classical Album of the Year” on Solo Piano.com. In addition, I have collaborated with other international music artists for recordings, and my original compositions have been sought after by highly-regarded individuals.
As a music teacher, I provide students of all ages a means for artistic outlet. Teaching makes me feel more complete as an artist and more accomplished as an individual. Sharing the gift of music is my primary mission in life.
A native of Barnaul in Siberia, Russia, and alumna of the College of Music at Florida State University, Oksana currently resides in Beverly Hills with her family. She continues to dedicate much of her time, music, and sales of CDs to charitable causes, including environmental concerns through Cool Green Fashion for Forests and children with cleft palate through Smile Train.

I customize my teaching approach to each individual student. Having taught for 20+ years has taught me that every student learns differently - some do well with an easy approach, others with a more firm approach, while others with something in between.
I analyze each student's learning patterns, and structure their lessons in a way that gets the best results in the shortest time. I also have recitals so that my students can showcase what they have learned.
I am very patient, and also have experience teaching children with special needs. I aim at being not only the best teacher, but also a mentor to my students.
I prepare my students for Certificate of Merit and Competitions.
I'm also a proud member of Music Teachers of California.

Conversation and culture are two things I enjoy when it comes to Russian. I am a native speaker of Russia. Because I have been working with people from many different cultures, I can give you unique cultural insights about Russian language and Russian culture.
Here is my philosophy of teaching in a very very brief form: I am a big believer in needs analysis and diagnostic. Before any goals are s
As far as methodology goes, I am pretty eclectic. Again, methods and approaches are chosen based on students' needs. Sometimes we just have to work on drilling sounds and intonation or some simple grammar concepts like “do/does”, while at other times open conversation is the best way to practice the same content. One key component that doesn’t change is the focus on the student. I work hard on planning my lessons so that my students do most of the work during class. I also strive to contextualize everything around real life by choosing materials that are recent and relevant.

I am a very interactive teacher! Unless you prefer otherwise, I firmly believe in only using the target language to teach! The class (unless at a completely beginner level) will primarily focus on conversation skills using vocab that you already know and gradually adding in new vocabulary. The only way to truly learn a language (especially one as intricate as Russian) is practice practice practice! In my class, my goal is to have you talking for at least as much time as I am. I am fun, I like making my classes fun, and I have a passion for the Russian language. I am a heritage speaker of Russian, but love it so much I received a degree in Russian language and culture, I am looking forward to seeing you in class and introducing you to the complex, beautiful thing that is the Russian language! До встречи!
Menya zovut Mitch! (I am Mitch), and I am hopefully your next Russian teacher! Do you like interacting in class and learning hands on? Then I promise my class is the class for you. The only thing I love more than learning languages is teaching them. What is more exciting than communicating with another person in sounds that before were completely not understood to you? I prize communication and hands on activities in class over traditional repetition style teaching. I want you to think! I don't want to just teach you a grammar point and make you do exercises, I want you to start using it right away using real world examples and conversations! Mastering Russian is no easy feat, but with me you will find it fun and engaging! Complete your goals, learn Russian with me today!

She is a teacher who sincerely cares about her students, and is determined to ensure their understanding of all material she introduces, including complex aspects of grammar and language usage. It is clear to see that she prepares every lesson with consideration and purpose, and dedicates a tremendous effort to making lessons interesting and fun.
In our lessons, Anna strongly emphasizes conversation and listening comprehension, as well as the thorough reading and analysis of demanding literary and scientific texts. She strives to create a familiarity with the Russian language which plays a fundamental role in achieving fluency. It is a gift to be able to have a teacher like Anna. She is without question one of the most talented teachers I have ever met, and she has my highest recommendation to prospective students of Russian."
