I was born in the U.S. to Russian parents, and Russian was my first language. My mother, a language instructor at Drexel University, taught me the language on a professional level. Because of this, I have no accent in either language!, and am inherently qualified to teach this topic on a high level.
I am passionate about teaching Russian, and want to share my excitement for the language with you. My family is originally from St. Petersburg, which happens to have a pronunciation that distinguishes itself from the "Moscow" accent. I speak Russian with a very "neutral" accent, which will serve you well as your embark on your journey to learn the language. Here's a bit about my curriculum:
* Comprehensive foundation in Russian pronunciation
* Identifying the specific challenges that Russian presents to English speakers.
* Understanding the differences between Russian and commonly-taught Western European Languages.
* Discovering effective strategies to producing the difficult ...
Teaching is an incredible opportunity to share my love for learning. Whether you are a beginner, or an intermediate student looking to refine your skills, I offer lessons to all ages. Learn in a personalized teaching program tailored to YOUR interests, while also giving you a foundation from which you can launch your creativity.
Me: conservatory-trained flutist jazz lover, cook, traveler. When I was in 8th grade, I decided to become a professional musician, and it has been an incredible journey ever since.

Russian language spoken by over 250 million people. It is a beautiful language that grew and developed as loyal companion to the unique Russian culture. It's development was shaped with by some of the best writers and poets in the world, such as Pushkin and Tolstoy.
I believe that teaching a language without a well integrated cultural component is akin to crime, as doing so will deprive the student of opportunity of obtaining a gateway to understanding Russian culture... and perhaps a "mysterious Russian soul."
Unlike other subjects, where a curriculum is closely followed, Russian lessons are vibrant and are designed to promote fluency in conversation reading and writing. Poetry, videos and music are are integrated into the lesson plan - making learning efficient and fun.
I am am an Instructor with over 10 years of experience helping students learn and do well on their tests. By utilizing unique teaching methodology, I approach each student's needs and learning styles individually and develop customized lesson plan.
To date, 100% of my students passed their exams with 90% and above.

I was so happy with the progress that I asked him to tutor my niece in high school math. Again, he surpassed all expectations. She ended up having one of the highest grades in her class.
I wholeheartedly recommend him!

I enjoy teaching kids Russian language. I think, that children benefit from personalized private lessons much more, than from groups lessons given in schools, where kids have not only different level of grammar knowledge but also different level of understanding of the language.
My lessons are very interactive - we are not just reading and writing, but we play games, we solve puzzles... Of course, it is all in Russian :)
I can prepare for competitions and exams, give knowledge of music theory, or teach music just for fun - for your, or your kid's enjoyment.
My students performed in studio recitals, successfully passed Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music examinations, won competitions such as Music-Fest Rising Talents Festival, Crescendo International competition, Russian Music Festival and were awarded performance opportunities in such renowned halls as Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall of Kaufman Center, Italian Teatro of Columbia University, NY and Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia.
I earned my Master of Music degree from the National P. Tchaikovsky Music Academy of Ukraine and Bachelor of Music degree (with Honors) from R. Glier Kyiv State Higher Music College.
I am a co-founder and artistic director of Music-Fest Rising Talents Festival.
I teach in New York City, NJ or via Skype.
In NYC I teach at the music studio next to Penn Station. I can also come to your place if it is in 3 miles radius from Penn Station.
In New Jersey I teach at my home studio in Roseland or can come to your place if it is nearby.
For in-studio lessons in NYC I charge extra $10 per half an hour to cover the cost of studio rent.
For lessons in your place I will need to charge extra to cover the cost of commute.
