As a native spanish speaker, and a lover of languages, I am always happy to unlock the code to a language and culture for my students. I have a minor in Spanish from the University of Miami and always make sure to tailor my lessons to my students' needs.

About Michelle
VOCAL COACH
Rehabilitating and strengthening voices are two of my top specialties, and each lesson will have specific exercises tailored to helping you transform your voice into the highest and best version of your instrument. I work with singers signed to labels as well as the indie artist just starting to find his/her voice, style, and signature sound. My coaching approach incorporates some of the newest technologies that have shown extraordinary results in breaking down the inner blocks of each artist. It is a tremendously joyful and fulfilling experience to watch as my students really let their instrument shine brightly, boldly, and with an aboslutely stunning groundedness as they discover how powerful they truly are.

MUSICIAN/SONGWRITER/PERFORMER

Poised, energized, and armed with unforgettable performance ability, Michelle G
. is a firework in the artistic arena. Her training began at the young age of 3 with the violin, and a few years later received classes for piano and voice. Excelling in all three, Michelle developed a very passionate and dramatic personality that eventually led her to more dramatic genres such as opera and stage acting. Her aptitude to understand human emotions and relationships gives her a wide spectrum to play in as an actress. There is an organic flow to her interpretations both as an actress and musician that leads the audience to feel her emotional current. Her honest characterizations introduce deeper perspectives on what seems like the ordinary roles and storylines. Amongst the many other leads that she has played, her participation in roles like “Susanna” in The Marriage of Figaro, or “Donna Elvira” in Don Giovanni embody much vibrancy and integrity.
Through the development of her voice as a singer and actress, she has crossed over into other media such as voice over commercial work and vocals for pop/main stream music productions. She has recently participated as a vocalist and violinist in the albums of artists such as international jazz pop artist David Longoria, Latin pop singer Erick Bolivar, Grammy-nominated percussionist Souhail Kaspar, and American Idol’s Seysha. Over the last few years she has unraveled her musical skills as a songwriter/composer/arranger and has even had some small victories acquiring music placements on TV shows (NCIS, short film “Sumtin’ Like Dat”, The Dictator) for herself and some of her colleagues. Her singing can also be heard on the hit tv show "Jane The Virgin", "Castle" and "Shameless" amongst others.

Education
Michelle completed her Associates of Arts for Music/Music Education at the age of 18, and got later graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor's of Arts for Musical Theater and Music Business, as well as from Florida International University with a Master's of Music in Vocal Performance.

*** Lesson Details ***
I tailor my lessons to my student's needs, style, abilities, and goals. Learning is truly a fun and passionate adventure for me, and my enthusiasm has consistently been a contagious quality :) I love to challenge myself & my students to discover how immense their true potential is, and I create a safe and fun environment to explore such facets.

My curriculum is combination of solid tradition (Suzuki method for piano & violin, and Bel Canto technique for singing) interwoven with pop-culture, and modern influences. Within the first 3-6 months, my students will know the basic building blocks of music - which includes scales, arpeggios, triads, intervals, technique, and performance repertoire; and for my singers this will include proper breath technique, tone placement, support, very often increased vocal range (both high and low), and will feel significantly stronger vocally and more confident getting up to sing.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Full size Keyboard, mics, pro tools, Violin (electric, acoustic, and Chinese Ehru)

*** Specialties ***
Specialties include:
- Audition technique and prep
- Vocal Technique
- Violin Pedagogy

My classes include cultural aspects of the language, such as music, cooking, dancing and expressions in order to have a more rounded understanding of the language.

About Hilda

I have taught and tutored Spanish students from beginner-advance levels, both private and in groups for several years and taught Spanish full time at a school from grades 5-12 for a year. Hi Everyone, book a lesson with me because I am fun and patient but most importantly because I am also a student like you but in French and I know the struggles of learning a new language. I have material to teach you from and I speak English and Portuguese on top of my Spanish which is my mother tongue.

About Ralph
Hi, my name is Milton. I am 27 years old, I am Salvadoran but I live in Brazil for six months every year. I have traveled to Guatemala, Panama, and Brazil. I like learning languages and that is the reason why I speak excellent English and Portuguese. Currently, I am learning French.

On my free time, I go to the gym, listen to music, read, watch movies and go shopping.

I study Modern Languages at the university of El Salvador and there I discovered my passion in teaching. I started working with a NGO where I taught English, then I was hired at a public and private school. Also I did some teaching via Skype and that is how I helped others to improve their learning course.

Most of the time, my students ask me to prepare a conversational class where the student chooses a topic of his/her interest. When I had a classroom, I used to use a b
ook from where I would prepare my class. I like using current topics to keep the student's attention going.

I've been taking lessons with Ralph for almost a year now over Skype and I'm so pleased with my improvement. I'm always impressed with the preparation Ralph does for each lesson - a huge list of conversation topics or an article to discuss - and appreciate his enthusiasm, good humor, and patience. I started at an upper-intermediate level and Ralph has helped me refine the finer points of speaking to sound more native. Highly recommended!

Creative Movement and the Spanish Language: This multidisciplinary program was developed to enable participants to learn, interpret, and understand the Spanish language through dance. The goal of these classes is for the students to be able to build a basic Spanish vocabulary for use in travel and daily life. This program fosters learning conversational skills in a new way. My aim is that each participant will develop a love for the Spanish culture and an eagerness to learn more about this beautiful language, which is the second-most spoken language in the United States, while learning latin dance styles such as salsa, merengue, bachata, and more.

About Anna
Anna is a dance improviser, choreographer, and instructor. She graduated from Empire State College in June 2001 with a BA in Dance in Education. In November 2008, she received a certificate to teach yoga from Svyasa Swami Vivekananda Yoga University in Bangalore, India. In 2006, she was awarded a dissemination award from the Dutchess County Arts Council in Poughkeepsie, New York. Anna has been teaching, performing, and choreographing for over 15 years. She has developed two programs throughout this time period. One is teaching the Spanish language through movement, and the other is fusion dance, which centers on the incorporation of African, Classical Indian, Flamenco, Modern and Latin dance styles. She has traveled for her work to Bangalore, Pune, Lucknow, and Bombay in India. Additionally, she has taught for The National Ballet of Zimba
bwe in Africa, in England, and in the greater Boston Area. She is currently working in the Mid-Hudson Valley.

Her choreographed solos, such as “Fusion,” “Flamenco Fusion,” and “Veiled” (a metaphor for the plight of women in Afghanistan) have been performed in New York City, the Mid-Hudson Valley, Boston, and India. She has had interviews about her work for The Poughkeepsie Journal, La Voz/ Radio Kingston NY, in addition to podcast interviews about her life in Chile and being bilingual. She has collaborated with artists such as Gigi Oppenheimer in choreographing duets entitled “The Wisdom Tree,” and “Inner Fire.” She has choreographed for the D’amby Project, SolesBare Dance Collective, and The National Ballet of Zimbabwe. She has danced with Kelly Donovan and Karen Brey. Currently, Anna directs her dance company, Fusion Dance, which is located in NY. She teaches, choreographs, and performs throughout the greater New York Area.
