I have been literally to 4 youtube teachers and though I have nothing bad to say about any of them, i know that I need a long term teacher that I can see myself growing with as a singer. Our personalities just meshed. She knows how to make one feel comfortable. She is very encouraging to students with zero self confidence like me. I think I have found the teacher I’ve been looking for in Elena! i’m excited to see what she can do to transform my voice. Her resume as well as her reviews( students spoke highly of her character) are what stood out for me out of thousands of teachers online! It is also important that I love to listen to my teacher’s voice and i love her voice😊

Elena was great! She helped me start new ways to sing. I have sung for years, but these news ideas had immediate results!😊

I have over 5 years of experience tutoring/teaching Spanish. I specialize in beginner/intermediate/advanced grammar and speaking skills. All ages welcome. Lessons will be customized to whatever your individual goals/needs may be! I was part of a Spanish immersion program and speak the language fluently. Have traveled to many Spanish speaking countries and am a Spanish teacher in New York City. Looking forward to working with you!

About Kat

I am a professional singer, songwriter, actor, and teacher. I graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre (with a minor in Spanish)! Originally from North Carolina, I moved to New York City in order to pursue my dream of being an actress! Upon my arrival in New York, I quickly found that I also have an incredible passion for songwriting and teaching. Currently, I am pursuing a career in music and working as a teacher.

If you choose to study voice with me, you can expect to improve your technique weekly using a variety of vocal warm ups and songs. Because every person's voice is just as unique as they are, we will work through your individual strengths and opportunities for growth as well as work towards building up your repertoire - all while helping you gain more and more confidence in you

r vocal abilities!

If you are interested in studying acting with me, you can expect to read lots of plays/musicals, as well as work through a slew of monologues! We can work on material that I find for you or we can work through whatever you need to prepare for your next audition! I can help you find compelling objectives and beats and help bring your character to life!

In my Spanish lessons, you can expect to work through grammar, speaking, reading, and writing. I learned Spanish through an immersive academic program (K-12) and then I minored in Spanish in college so I not only have an understanding of the language from an academic standpoint but I also have been speaking Spanish for nearly the entirety of my life! I have worked with beginner Spanish speakers to native Spanish speakers helping with grammar and writing skills. We will work together to build up your confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish and before you know it, we'll be able to have our lessons fully in Spanish!

I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you soon!!

If you're looking for top-tier, enjoyable, results-driven tutoring, send me a message. I've been helping students ace their next Spanish exam, paper, project, or standardized test, for over 10 years. But more importantly, I build lasting relationships with my students – meeting on a regular basis; covering all aspects of skill-building, test prep, and organization; and acting as a consistent presence in the student's life. I currently tutor high school students in New York at Horace Mann, Riverdale, Trinity, Collegiate, and Dwight Englewood, as well as adults and younger students.

About Jesse

I'm a professional Spanish and English tutor with over 10 years of experience teaching at the high school, middle school, and college levels.

I hold a masters degree from Harvard University, a Bachelors degree in Spanish language and Political Science, and a teaching certificate from the Fulbright Scholarship program.

I currently tutor high school students in New York at Horace Mann, Riverdale, Trinity, Collegiate, The United Nations School, and Dwight Englewood.

I help students of every age ace their next Spanish or English exam, paper, or standardized test.

But just as important, I build lasting relationships with my students based on mutual trust and respect. My students come away from tutoring sessions energized, with a sense of confidence and motivation. I believe that meetings with a tutor should be enjoyable, and they

should inspire students to work smart and work hard.

After studying at the University of Havana, in Cuba, I wrote peer-reviewed research, which was published in the journal "Cuba in Transition." A year later, I was awarded a Fulbright grant to teach and conduct research in Montevideo, Uruguay. There, I worked with the U.S. Embassy to create a series of new language courses in public schools.

I speak and write fluently in Spanish. But as a native English speaker, I've learned the Spanish language from the ground up, just like my students.

For both English and Spanish I am an expert in test prep, essay composition, IB/AP, and SAT II.

If you're looking for top-tier, enjoyable, results-driven tutoring, send me a message.

A knowledgeable and patient educator, Jesse has found a teaching style that perfectly balances challenge and inspiration. As a doctoral candidate in the sciences, it is important for me to assert my knowledge of a topic while capturing the attention of the reader. Jesse has taught me to transform bare facts and ideas into structured, sophisticated passages. He has played an active role in building my self-confidence and has helped me find an authentic writing voice to more clearly and elegantly express my thoughts. I am grateful to have his guidance and am eager to vouch for his excellence as a tutor.

I am so lucky that I found Jesse! He is thoughtful, thorough, patient, and kind, and his lessons always felt like they were tailored specifically to me and my needs. Even his teaching materials were personalized to include my name and phrases that only I would need to use (i.e. I'm an actress and piano teacher, and I've been living and working in NYC for over ten years). Highly recommended!

- Learn Spanish with a native speaker
- I have learned two other languages, each one in a different way which helped me understand different approaches to teach/learn a new language.
- I’m a singer too, so I will make sure your pronunciation and clarity are in a good level, as well as help develop your listening skills.

About Pedro

I am an Opera Singer, currently based in the NYC area. I finished my undergrad in vocal performance at Universidad Central in Bogotá, Colombia and Master’s degree in music performance at the University of Denver.

The learning process is very different from one person to the other and this applies to languages, indeed. However, no matter what your pace is and what your goals are in a subject, my goal will always be making sure that you are learning something new every time, and of course, that you reach your goals in the process. Your process is personal and my job is to take the best from you.

Respect singing, I believe every person has a unique instrument, and no matter how easier or harder it could be for some people, anyone can develop his/her own instrument to the fullest!

I look forward to meet you and reach your singing and langu

age goals together!

I LOVE teaching Spanish! I never knew how much I liked it until I started working at the modern language department at BMCC. I started working there as a part time Spanish tutor back in 2010. I enjoyed the experience. So I continued. I moved to Spain then, so my Spanish got a way better hehe. I’m a native speaker and I’m familiar with every Spanish slangs and expressions of many Spanish speaking countries. All my students always got an A in class. I developed a system that learned with time and it’s so efficient! I’m proud to say that! Pilar for you! :)

"Gloria has been such a wonderful teacher and is really helping me understand Spanish grammar better. I'm so glad that I decided to do private lessons with
her in order to better understand the Spanish language. Her methods of teaching and getting students to practice the language have helped me retain information much better than I would have if I tried to teach myself."

"I have been working with Adan for over 2 years and he is an amazing teacher!! He has taught me Spanish at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. He
has helped me to learn the vocabulary, grammar and content that I need for my job. Adan draws upon a variety of engaging resources (e.g., Ted Talks, television shows, news articles) to expand my knowledge of Spanish and the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. Adan's classes are interesting and challenging and he makes me feel successful and motivated to learn more. I highly recommend him!"

"I’m so lucky to have found Dannia! As I had not spoken Spanish in quite a long time, I was very nervous for my lessons with her. She reassured me that I
would be having so much fun and there was no need to be nervous.

As an adult who studied Spanish in school, I really want to continue learning how to be conversational. Dannia is patient and super friendly— she is very organized in her lesson plans and objectives and I feel very comfortable with her. She guides me to the best version of what I want to say and always lets me know when there is opportunity to say something differently or better.

I cannot wait to continue our lessons together in my quest to be fluent!"
