Students will achieve their goals to speak Russian. You will be led step by step and that will go the easy way. Nothing is impossible so are the foreign languages. Make the first step and I'll do the rest.

About Sergey

As I speak two languages English and Russian, I can teach both. Russian is my native language, so students can learn Russian from the native speaker. And that is the best way to learn foreign languages. I've been teaching Russian since 2010 and I use my own method, which is not like in boring books

I feel that learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular is about repetition and I ask my students to repeat everything I teach over and over again until they know it by heart. I keep my lessons simple to avoid overwhelming the students and to allow time for them to repeat what they learned earlier. I teach the words that form part of the so called core vocabulary; words that are chosen according to frequency and range (in the sense that they “occur across a wide variety of texts”) It is often said that the first 2000 most frequent words cover approximately 90% of the vocabulary used by native-speakers in daily conversations. This means that for a student they represent the basic resource to be able to communicate.

About Stefania

I am Italian. I moved to Canada first and the US next in my thirties. I love teaching. I own a retail training and consulting company. I have taught Italian on and off over the years and have always loved doing it. I am very passionate about the topics I teach and have a clear understanding of the

John is a fantastic instructor. He has a love for educating others on musical expression and he is a wellspring of musical knowledge. He provides a depth to the piano that I wouldn't have noticed if I taught myself how to play.

John emphasized how to shape musical phrases to make music as opposed to a collection of notes. He had a good ear for honing in on my weaknesses such as how some notes that I played stuck out or the movement of my arms. Most importantly, he taught me how to approach practicing the piano in an effective way. I learned how to listen to myself and how give each note, phrase, and piece the attention and musicality it needed to sound beautifully.

For an adult learner as myself, he was accommodating with how busy I was. He adjusted to my needs and work schedule and taught at a reasonable pace. However, he also never veered from his expectations and praised what I was doing right and provided methods to fix what I was doing wrong.

Although there were times when John expressed his passion for music by delving into tangents on the broader historical significance of pieces, his mini-lectures were never irrelevant nor inappropriate. For example, he commented on how in waltzes, the rhythm on the left hand would need to emulate how a Romantic era string section would play it. For anyone who is serious about how or why pieces of music are meant to be played in a certain way, John is great about contextualizing pieces to make them sound great.

Most importantly, he made practicing piano something that was both enjoyable and challenging, which is difficult to find in a teacher. I owe a great deal of my musicianship to John and he met my expectations of learning the piano. Thank you!
Kenny
John is really great. He takes the time to understand what your goals are and teaches according to your needs. He is patient and provides constructive comments.

We can focus on all four skills; speaking, listening, reading, and writing, but if a student would like to focus on only speaking, we can certainly do that as well. We also talk about cultural aspects of Japan and cover the vocabularies related to the cultural aspects.

About Emi

Hello, my name is Emi. I was born in Nagano prefecture and raised in Saitama prefecture. After graduating from college in Tokyo, I moved to the U.S. and have been teaching Japanese at public middle schools as well as colleges for almost 30 years. My hobbies are practicing musical instruments and

Sensei seems to really enjoy teaching. As both a native speaker and a longtime resident of the US, she is able to bridge the cultures in a way that many instructors would not be able to. I have been studying with her for over six months - both in a private and college setting - and I feel that I would be hard pressed to find a better teacher. In a college setting, she is very strict and covers a lot of material in a short period of time, and those who take her courses must be prepared to expend significant time and energy for success, but those who can keep up are well equipped to continue their studies with pretty much any other teacher or course.
Chris
Sensei Emi was patient, kind, and very thorough with her teaching. I started from knowing absolutely nothing about Japanese language or culture and now, having completed just 5 hours of lessons with her, I feel I have a solid foundation to build upon. Within our 5 hours we covered numbers, greetings, and almost all of the 46 basic hiragana. She was born and raised in Japan so it was lovely hearing about the culture and society from stories she lived through first hand. As I continue my education in Japanese I hope to return to her and continue to learn more. I highly recommend her as a teacher to anyone learning Japanese at any level.

Emi is the second private tutor that my company has had and she by far has been the best, hands-down. She is professional and experienced but she is also flexible with scheduling which is a necessity for business professionals who travel quite a bit for work.
The homework is not strenuous but is focused and important for success in her lessons. She also teaches at a nice pace but also is willing to work with you if you feel that you are falling behind. You can absolutely tell that Emi cares about her students and their progression with the language no matter their age and experience.

SPECIAL AREAS: IB study and exams, comprehensible input

I am a professional public school teacher, and have been tutoring and teaching since 2013. I have worked primarily with teens and adults, but welcome all ages to join me in their learning adventure.

I'm happy to say that I am a very flexible teacher. Together we will find the best way for you to learn and feel successful in French. Specifically, I speak of two main options: traditional school learning and a method called comprehensible input.

*Traditional learning is something you're probably familiar with and may have experienced in learning a lesson. This is the textbook, worksheet, grammar repetition version of learning. For some people, this works for them. This is how I learned French, and some find success with it. However, if you've ever felt this wasn't the best method for you (or you'd like to try something new anyway), please keep reading.

*Comprehensible input is an approach that allows us to dive right ...

I first started learning French in 1993. My 7th grade best friend and I thought it would be very cool to learn French. We had those adoles

"I've had several lessons with Quinton already and I'm enjoying his open format of following a plan, but not strictly. When I'm curious about something like "What do Koreans think of ...?" or, "How do I pronounce ...?", he will take the time to answer my questions before going back to the curriculum. This format makes learning much more enjoyable for me since it's at my pace. He also provides advice, links and apps on how to study (and learn more Korean) apart from class. Highly recommend him as a teacher."
