Private Japanese Teacher

Hi, I’ve taught Japanese since 2002 and I’ve always enjoyed teaching and interacting with students. I have taught American adults and college students for over 5 years now. Teaching Japanese to American military personnel and spouses who were stationed in Japan was the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. They truly needed the language skills to live in Japan, and they really appreciated that they were able to learn survival Japanese that’s instantly useful out in town.

I grew up in Japan and came to US to go to college. Since I was a college student, I taught Japanese to middle and high school students during summer in Japan. I have a Master of Education in TESL. Yes, I used to teach English more vigorously, but I found teaching Japanese more rewarding. I teach all levels including those who are starting out and also want to improve their fluency and understand the culture and history!
I’m looking forward to working with whoever is interested in my language :) Thank you!!

About Ai

I started my teaching career when I was a college student. In Japan, I taught both English and Japanese to middle and high school students at a private academy. I have also taught Japanese to adults especially the spouses stationed in Japan and also at community college. I have the Master of Educa

I was a 5th year ALT on the JET Programme. (Ask me how I transferred from Nagasaki to Tokyo!) I taught high school, middle school, and special education English classes. Since then, I've been teaching adults and children here in New York City. As a native English speaker who has studied Japanese, I know the most effective methods to learn it.

I love teaching Japanese and English! They're both so much fun to learn. I can teach you what you need to know to visit Japan, sing karaoke, or become a translator. Anything for my amazing students.

About Sara

I am here to help you meet and set goals with your Japanese and English while encouraging and challenging you to reach new heights as a student and as the wonderful, beautiful individual you are. I will teach with as much enthusiasm as you study. 10 hours of classes a week? No problem! 3-hour sessi

I absolutely loved learning from Mari for my piano lessons! As an adult learner, I felt like my brain doesn't work as fast as it used to, so learning a new instrument was difficult, but Mari completely caters each lesson to my learning speed and maximized my abilities. She takes into accounts the areas and types of music I wanted to learn and helped me to achieve being able to play that type of music. I also loved and appreciated that she works around my busy work schedule and accommodating lessons when plans change throughout the week. I would highly recommend Mari as a music teacher to anyone interested in learning a new instrument at all ages!

Learn Japanese the Easy Way: 3 Study Tips for Beginners

While learning Japanese requires time and patience, you can boost your learning with these tips from teacher Willy M... I hate to break it to you, although it's not impossible to learn Japanese, it's also not necessarily easy. Japanese is a complicated language on many levels.
