We've only had one lesson so far, but Lisa recommended some great books and shows that will improve my Portuguese. She also gauged my level of knowledge and my preferred method of learning.
I'm looking forward to our future lessons.

"I've been teaching Spanish for 3 years and my students have gone on to develop a deep love for Spanish culture and touristic places in Latin America. Within the first few lessons, you'll start speaking simple sentences and as time goes on you'll be able to conjugate like a pro! The good thing is that you will relate our Spanish lessons to your personal life. I like to use the following tools: recording equipment, worksheets, books, and more. For kids, offer a full inmersion Spanish learning experience (singing, dancing, playing, reading, etc). I love working with students of all ages, I can't wait to see you!

About Jackeline
I am a university student. I am a Spanish native speaker. I used to be a tutor in college. I like to teach, it is the best way to learn more and put in practice all I already learned. I am very patient, so dedicated, and very friendly. Throughout the time I have developed teaching techniques that would make YOU understand better and have a great experience during our sessions.

Jackeline is an exceptionally natural teacher! Her insight, patience and experience are simply unparalleled. This is the best money I have ever spent on learning a language. I would take a class in anything Jackeline was teaching simply because I know she would be the best teacher!

Jackeline is patient yet firm in that she gives you time to recollect and explains why your answer was incorrect. She encourages you to use the new language in the lesson which is most helpful and gives guidelines and exercises to re-enforce the lesson.

Come learn from a language instructor that has studied abroad while learning the language! I've been teaching Spanish for over 25 years! My goal is to help you complete your work or assignments successfully. My goal is also to help you learn some Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and a cultural note about the Latino community each time we meet. You'll definitely benefit and learn MORE Spanish by selecting me as your instructor!

About Naomi
I was originally born in Cincinnati, Ohio in a large family (youngest of nine kids), and we all attended Catholic schools... this is where I started learning Spanish. I have studied it (and English Literature) for many years, then eventually won a scholarship to study/travel in Mexico for six months. I returned from Mexico fluent, graduated from college with honors in language and Humanities, then decided to go live in Washington, DC to use that language. I got into corporate training, working 10 years at Fannie Mae as I traveled to 38 of the 50 states to help them train banks on their financial systems. I later began working in healthcare, and got certified as an interpreter AND as an Instructional Designer. I have designed educational programs ever since at hospitals, schools, educational centers, retail organizations, and with hig
her education (now at GWU). My hobbies include speaking Spanish, swimming, listening to jazz, playing with my daughter and my beagle.

If you are looking for a Spanish teacher look no further! Naomi is a very skilled and phenomenal teacher. I have taken her class for the last 10 months and I truly can see the progress I have made with her teaching style. She not only has set lessons from the book, but she will bring real-world examples such as food, newspapers, and music! I recently traveled to the Dominican Republic and I was amazed at how easily I was able to hold a conversation. The people there let me know that my Spanish was very good. It was definitely a compliment for me. I believe that a student is only as good as their teacher. Naomi is the right teacher!

I'm so pleased that we found Humberto to be my daughter's violin teacher last spring. She's clearly improving and expanding her skills. We also notice that she enthusiastically practices between weekly lessons. This excellent learning experience would not have been possible without the high quality teaching.

Our daughter has recently switched to Viola and I've no doubt she will continue to learn and enjoy learning from Humberto as she has already done with the violin.

Humberto is one of the best violin instructors I have ever had. On our first lesson he came in with a smile stretching to his ears, and upon hearing me play immediately knew all the things that was wrong with my posture, playing, tone, rhythm and other problems as well. Ever since the first lesson, I have been making rapid improvements. Humberto is a great teacher and a swell guy, I would highly recommend him to anybody looking for violin lessons. -13 year old boy

Consuelo is such a great teacher! I was so nervous to start taking Spanish lessons because I am extremely shy and haven't been doing so well in my Spanish class. She was very attentive to my needs and quickly tailored her lessons to help me improve my biggest weaknesses. With her help I raised my overall class grade from a C to an A within a month and a half. She is a Spanish language miracle worker! GRACIAS CONSUELO!!!

ABOUT MY PRIVATE LESSONS

I can help you improve your current level of Spanish, help your children with Spanish at school, or teach you Spanish from scratch!

⋆ LOCATIONS
I live in Bloomingdale and work in the DuPage county area. I meet most of my students in local coffee shops like Starbucks or Panera, but at-home lessons are possible as well.

⋆ LESSON FREQUENCY AND LENGTH

It would depend on your goals. School tutoring usually requires less time because Spanish at school is extremely basic and it’s doesn’t really lead to fluency in the language. Anything else needs a greater degree of commitment! I meet my students for one hour once or twice per week AT LEAST.

⋆ TEACHING METHOD
For school tutoring I try to adapt to your school’s method. For other types of lessons, I prefer avoiding translation and memorization and make use of effective Spanish textbooks, technology, games and free conversation.

⋆ SCHEDULE / AVAILABILITY
I mostly teach Monday-Friday afternoons and weekends in the morning.

⋆ RESCHEDULING / CANCELLATIONS / PUNCTUALITY
I understand flexibility is convenient and appreciated, so I allow rescheduling and cancellations in case of emergency or with enough advance notice. I recommend students to stick to their agreed schedule if they want to achieve their goals, even if that means to meet at another time during that same week. If I am already on my way to your lesson and you need to cancel, I will charge for the lesson. If you’re going to be late, please let me know, and I can’t guarantee that I can stay later than our scheduled time.

⋆ FIRST LESSON
During our first lesson we will take time to go over any important information, set our goals and answer questions regarding nature of our lessons. We can talk about fees and teaching materials during this lesson as well.

For any more details or any questions, please don’t hesitate contacting me!
