Yuriko is very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. I've been studying Japanese on my own for about a month and decided I wanted an instructor to help me. I was very nervous to speak Japanese in front of her as my studies have left me reading about grammar and vocabulary, not necessarily saying much of it out loud, but she quickly calmed me with her reassuring nature. She provided me with a lot of insight on the use cases for many words/phrases, as well as Japanese culture. I left my first lesson feeling confident and ready for more!

I'd highly recommend Yuriko to anyone wanting a Japanese language instructor! She's the best!

During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a president of SUNY Albany Japanese Student Association and also worked as a TA for Japanese 101 classes, and I absolutely love to teach languages! I understand it is often very hard to find a language tutor outside of the spoken community, and I hope to provide you with the opportunity to be exposed to authentic media sources to acquire natural fluency. Hope to hear from you soon!

My Japanese lessons are unique in that I can adapt to multiple learning styles. I can empathize with English learners that have been struggling with Japanese grammar and sentence-forming issues that plague so many by explaining it in innovative ways. I am also very up to date with Japanese pop culture, history, and other fun aspects, such as travel, food, and music, so I often enjoy incorporating those fun topics into my lessons wherever possible!

Not only are the links that she sends you during the lesson helpful but she explains when you'd use the words and helps you understand the appropriate situations for when you use them. She is very friendly and a wonderful teacher that will listen to your questions and answer them and her answers are never halfhearted. I completely would recommend her as a Japanese tutor/Instructor if you wish to learn how to speak and write Japanese while still having that relaxing environment."
