Learning Japanese? As being a composer for short Anime films and having a Japanese background, I have worked with Japanese companies for many years and trained employees of different companies in not only speaking Japanese but also the business culture. But that is not all my classes are for everybody for those planning a trip to Japan. What's special of my classes is that we learn to have a conversation for different situations every week. You will start talking after your first class! CHECK OUT MY VIDEOS HERE ON TL FOR JAPANESE TIPS!

Hi, I’ve taught Japanese since 2002 and I’ve always enjoyed teaching and interacting with students. I have taught American adults and college students for over 5 years now. Teaching Japanese to American military personnel and spouses who were stationed in Japan was the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. They truly needed the language skills to live in Japan, and they really appreciated that they were able to learn survival Japanese that’s instantly useful out in town.

I grew up in Japan and came to US to go to college. Since I was a college student, I taught Japanese to middle and high school students during summer in Japan. I have a Master of Education in TESL. Yes, I used to teach English more vigorously, but I found teaching Japanese more rewarding. I teach all levels including those who are starting out and also want to improve their fluency and understand the culture and history!
I’m looking forward to working with whoever is interested in my language :) Thank you!!

I do not just teach Japanese, I also teach you the culture if you are interested in learning about it. The Japanese culture has strong ties with the language. My philosophy of learning Japanese is through Immersion environment. I have my own technique that I show my student to improve their vocabulary, writing, speaking and listening. And mostly I make it fun! I received my AA from Japanese college from Hagoromo College in Osaka and MBA from university in the US. I had worked for various companies in the US. I have been taking lessons with Yoshi-Sensei for about 3 months, and he is a great teacher. He easily adapts to my weak areas, even during a lesson, and constantly keeps me challenged and interested. He's always able to accommodate anything, and I love study from him."

"The best instructor I have ever had in my life.

As it states on her profile, she is well-versed in all levels of Japanese language and culture. She is extremely good at developing a lesson plan specific to each student's needs, and can use a wide variety of media to help each student - again, depending on what each student would like to do. Whether you want to learn how to speak for a trip, or how to navigate the Japanese business environment at a fluent and competent level, she will have the best instruction. To say that she is adaptive is an understatement. You will absolutely come out of every class feeling that you have learned something meaningful and useful towards your language goals. Jessie will work with you to develop a schedule that will work with your life outside of class, and is extremely easy to work with regarding schedule changes.

Jessie managed to get me from a beginner level, to just starting on N2 material, in a shorter time than I could have imagined. She has an extremely high level of motivation and excitement that shows through in every lesson.

I highly recommend Jessie for any level due to her adaptability, high skill level, and wide span of knowledge."

Learn Japanese Through Music: 7 Fun Songs to Sing at Karaoke

Karaoke is a fun activity in any language, but believe it or not, singing karaoke is also a great way to improve your Japanese-language skills. Karaoke, as we know it, actually started in Kobe City, Japan. The word 'karaoke' is a combination of the words kara (from karappo, which means 'empty') and oke (from okesutura, which means 'orchestra'). You may not have realized that you can learn Japanese through music, but karaoke is one of the best ways to practice vocabulary and …
