What a beautiful language German is! No wonder there's so many famous German poets, playwrites and composers! And actually German is also very much used in todays international business world! Whether you want to get better grades in school or you just want to be able to have a simple conversation on vacation or apply with a German company, as a native speaker I can help you reach your goals!

About Chrissy

Originally born in Germany, Chrissy developed a passion for music, language and teaching early on. Right out of High School she helped her mother, who was an educator at that time, write and stage-manage a children's Musical which found great response from the audience. During her Music studies in the Netherlands she was offered an internship at the local Music School which she gratefully accepted and where she enjoyed her first voice coaching experience. There she was also nominated as one of the most promising young singer/songwriters at the LUX Festival in Nijmegen. Over the years she was blessed with more and more private students in voice as well as piano. During her stay in New York she received the opportunity to work with a Broadway show ensemble ("Dreamgirls") as a Music Director on their different harmonic parts. She's proudly b

een a member of the Music of Oz Studio staff in Crown Point, Indiana since Jan. 2011 and is looking forward to teaching out of her home now as well. Chrissy is crazy about all her students and wants them to succeed! She's very much looking forward to working with you and having buckets of fun! :-)

My emphasis is on a dialogue-driven and comparative introduction for the language to draw out a common ground and familiarize possibly daunting differences. I also enjoy asserting that German is often underestimated as a rewarding second language to study.

I taught German in the language lab of a community college, for special needs students, and for private agencies, such as Creative Support, Berlitz Languages, and Tutor Doctor.

I grew up bilingual English and German, attending an international school from a very young age. I attended, also, a German public secondary school, where I earned a diploma, and I completed German credits at the college level.

I have experience teaching German literature, elementary German, and German grammar. I lived in Germany for over 18 years. Possibly the only dedicated PhD for E-Learning on the TakeLessons server, I am member of the Association for Language Learning, located in ...

***ADDRESSES WITHIN REMOTE AREAS (no public transit or bicycle access) DIFFICULT TO SERVICE PHYSICALLY. Lesson cancellations and schedule changes need to be submitted through Takelessons.com student website, relieve busy teacher from multiple informal requests***

My style and attitude toward teaching is a balance between subject delivery and reflective, supportive interaction. I seek to enable current research on education for busy, yet goal-driven student interests. This is done through customized online lessons coordinating the experience with optimal resources and tools: ESL and Speech students learn to monitor their own phonological issues with dedicated software/feedback, guiding German students through conversational dialogues, and ensuring relevant resources for Excel and related productivity lessons.

Among the accent reduction teachers that I had before, Erol is the only one who actually could find the problems in my accent! The program he uses is very useful. The way he explains things or exaggerates the mistakes will help me to correct my accent. Overall, an awesome experience and I would totally recommend him to anyone.

Private German Teacher

I first started learning German due to a serendipitous move to Oklahoma following my junior year of high school. I have since really grown to love the German language and ended up getting a BA in German Studies (jointly with a BA in Spanish). I really love German literature, whether it's Goethe or Michael Ende, and I really enjoy Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Händel, and also Lieder (Shubert's "Erlkönig" being my favorite). I am also a huge fan of Die Prinzen. I consider myself an expert in grammar-related topics (including verb conjugation, cases, Konjunktiv I and II, etc.) but am also willing to teach vocabulary, pronunciation, and other topics.

About Paul

I hail from Walla Walla, Washington, home of the "famous" sweet onions. I can't begin to express how much I love languages!! I have studied 8 so far (Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, and Dutch) and I teach 5 (Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Japanese), and want to keep learning new languages throughout the rest of my life. I love to work with students so that's why I've kept my rates low--to make sure more people can have the opportunity to learn these languages. I have a down-to-earth style and I allow my students to guide their own learning in a student-structured, individualized way. As of June 2019, I have taught multiple students different languages, among whom are three students I have been teaching between 7 and 9 months, who have all improved considerably and continue to progress steadily

. I am positive I can help you come to understand the wonderful world that is language and to learn how amazing it is to be able to say the same thing in so many different ways, and how much better it is to be able to communicate with someone in his/her native language instead of having to resort to English. Let's do this!!

Note: I have not had any connectivity problems for quite a while now so be assured that I can provide quality instruction with no issues.

Guten Tag! I completed my master's degree in linguistics at the Free University of Berlin and spent a total of over four years in Germany. Whenever I speak with natives, they tell me that my German is excellent, practically without accent! I would love to help students who are just getting started with German or who are already moving into the conversational level. I also have a lot of great German language learning materials that could be incorporated into the lessons. Ich freue mich darauf mit Ihnen zu arbeiten! (I look forward to working with you!)

About Emily

Are you looking to brush up your English skills or try your hand at learning French or German? I would be delighted to help you find your way in navigating these tricky languages.

Allow me to tell you about myself. I am a certified and experienced ESL teacher who has traveled the globe and shared her skills abroad. I have a bachelor's degree in linguistics from Boston University and a master's degree in the same from the Free University in Berlin, Germany. My first experience with teaching was giving private English lessons to children in France in 2005. I later obtained my TESOL certificate from ITTT in 2010 while I was volunteering in a refugee English class in Denver. The following year I taught ESL to foreign boarding students at a high school in Maine. While living in Germany I taught adult English classes at public community col

leges and children's English classes at an after school club, as well as multiple private lessons. Additionally, I taught ESL to native French-speaking children and adults at a private school in Switzerland. I have also volunteer taught at English camps for refugee adults and children in Lebanon. Like I said, I've been privileged to offer my skills all over the globe!

I speak both French and German fluently and can teach in these languages if need be, but mostly, having studied linguistics and other languages such as Russian and Arabic, I understand what it's like to be a foreign language learner. I studied the construction of languages and can easily break them down into their parts so that they are easier to wrap your head around.

My skills are not limited to teaching English only, but I am also an experienced proofreader and editor. I have edited myriad documents not only for private individuals but also in the academic and professional sectors. So if you need help with writing or are looking for someone to proofread your written works, I would be happy to offer this service.

Finally, as previously mentioned, I'm fluent in both French and German and am happy to help beginner and intermediate learners acquire these languages. Or if you just want someone to practice your skills with I can serve as your conversational partner! I love giving private lessons because that way I can connect with each student individually and tailor the lesson especially to meet his or her needs!

I look forward to meeting you and guiding you along your linguistic journey!

About Eva

Hi everyone! My name is Eva and I'm very passionate about teaching and helping each other become better versions of ourselves.

I'm a certified ESL-Teacher and am trying to enable all ages and levels a chance to increase their English and German skills with the comfort of their home and their own availabilities.
As a flexible person, I teach each lesson individually tailored to the students' needs. I like to use many different resources and have various different materials suiting every style of learning.

Outdoing, positive, social and full of laughter are words my friends would describe me with.

I love teaching, I love speaking English and I love getting to know people from all parts of the world. I believe, I can all teach each other something, because everyone is good in something. For my I've found, it's teaching English.

It's important for me to build a friendly relationship between my students and me. I think, that's a key of learning. Seeing it more as a valuable get-together and holding a purposeful conversation.

Those of you, who are interested in learning German from a Native with teaching background or improving their English in this exact way, should reach out to me and I'm telling you, we'll have fun and educational lessons.

See you on the screen ;)

German Reviews

Jane
"Karin is truly the best German instructor ever. The most important thing to me is that Karin helps me feel comfortable and confident in at not only readi
ng and understanding German, but also speaking German. I am encouraged and helped at just the right level so I really know that I am learning how to read, write, and speak German in a German speaking country. But there are so many other things as well. The materials she uses are excellent. I get a copy of all the things she types during out on line learning sessions which helps me really learn and remember the German in the lesson. Karin has also sent me other materials such as useful phrases that I could use in situations in another country such as how to order and pay for food in a restaurant, how to tell the clerk what you want when reserving a hotel room, etc. In addition, I can always email Karin if I have a question or concern and Karin responds very quickly. At first, I was concerned that on-line lessons would not be as effective as a classroom lesson face to face. Karin immediately made me feel comfortable learning on line. Now I feel that I am getting more attention and personal one-on-one help more than I would ever get in a classroom. Karin is a really great German teacher."

"If you are looking for a caring, friendly and very experienced learning facilitator in the German language and culture, then you need look no further than
Wolfgang Soldan. Mr. Soldan was my instructor in a conversational German class at the former UTB Language Institute in Brownsville. I liked him as a teacher so much that I later sought him out for additional private lessons, which he provided to me in his home at a very reasonable price. I was very impressed with Mr. Soldan in both situations. Mr. Soldan was always extremely well prepared. He challenged me with a variety of interesting and fun learning activities. He tailored the lessons to my level of experience. He was even reasonably available for additional assistance outside of our arranged meetings. With a lifelong passion for teaching and the arts, Mr. Soldan has also accumulated a wealth of knowledge about additional learning resources to supplement your individual experience. Mr. Soldan built on my existing level of German and left me with a stronger foundation as well as desire to continue my studies. Mr. Soldan has my highest recommendation to provide you with a superior learning experience that will be well worth your time and money. You will be in good hands with Mr. Soldan. Contact him now!"
