Konnichiwa!!!! My name is Mari and I am a native Japanese speaker fluent in both English and Japanese. I grew up in the States but speak Japanese regularly with my parents and Japanese friends. Are you going to japan and want to learn some key phrases? I can help! Do you need someone to practice Japanese with? I can help!! My lessons are in 30 minute increments. Let’s start learning!!
Welcome to my music studio!
This will be a fun, incredible way to start or continue your music instruction. I have been a private violin and piano instructor since 1991. I took a break in 2005 while my kids were little. Now that they have grown up a bit, I am so excited to come back to this!
My teaching methods involve reading notes. I do not teach the Suzuki method. If that is what you are looking for, I can refer you to some wonderful local teachers. I will have 2 recitals a year and some workshops and clinics in between.
Thank you and I am looking forward to taking this musical journey with you!
Recitals and Performances: I will schedule 2 recitals a year and I highly encourage students to attend and participate in both.
Practice: A student's progress is 100% based on the practicing that takes place at home. I recom
mend having a scheduled time everyday that is dedicated to uninterrupted practice time. For 30 minute lessons, I recommend a 30 minute practice.
Books and Materials: On the first day, I will have books that you can buy from me. Please bring books to every lesson. PIANO STUDENTS: It is crucial that you have a working piano at home. While I understand it's a huge commitment to buy/rent a piano, playing on a keyboard is not the same. The exception is if you have a full size keyboard (88 keys), with touch sensitivity. VIOLIN/VIOLA STUDENTS: PLEASE consult me before you buy/rent a violin. There are several places that you can buy a violin 'package' for $99. For not much more, you can have a violin that is higher quality and will sound better. Remember, you only sound as good as your instrument! I know several reputable places that rent instruments that are of high quality.
Summer Schedule: I will try and be as accommodating as possible for the summer. If you know already which days you will be gone, let me know and we can work it into the calendar.
My approach to teaching lessons has always been with a gentle, calm demeanor. However, that said, I do want my students to excel and feel challenged. If at any time, you have concerns, please don't hesitate to talk to me about them. I want this to be a fun experience and the only way to ensure that is to make sure that the port of communication is always open. Thank you and let's get started!
I absolutely loved learning from Mari for my piano lessons! As an adult learner, I felt like my brain doesn't work as fast as it used to, so learning a new instrument was difficult, but Mari completely caters each lesson to my learning speed and maximized my abilities. She takes into accounts the areas and types of music I wanted to learn and helped me to achieve being able to play that type of music. I also loved and appreciated that she works around my busy work schedule and accommodating lessons when plans change throughout the week. I would highly recommend Mari as a music teacher to anyone interested in learning a new instrument at all ages!

Furthermore, I have long working experience as manager in some major international companies in Japan. So I can help you communicate with Japanese workers using natural and effective language. I know the business custom is very different between countries and Japan's one is a little complicated.. I am a native Japanese speaker. I'm now living in the USA but also in Japan and go back and forth here and Tokyo. So I know the Japanese trend well from comics to businesses. I have long working experience as engineering manager at some major international companies in japan. I know it is difficult for you to communicate with Japanese workers because there are a lot of business custom differences between Japan and other countries. If you feel something wrong in your communication with Japanese, please let me know it. I believe I can give you some tips on each specific situation. I have the teaching credential of general science for middle and high school students certified by the Japanese University and I have successfully passed the Japanese language Teaching Competency Test authorized by the Society for Teaching Japanese as a Foreign
Language in Oct 2016. Regarding the textbooks, I will adjust the textbooks and materials used in my lessons according to the student's level, requirements and goals. I have many textbooks and workbooks for the Japanese language learners which I bought in Japan recently. They include textbooks for the Japanese language proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 -N5.
Chieko-san is a very effective and very kind teacher. Whenever I was stuck and giving a wrong answer, she could help me out of the misconception or forgetfulness that I had stumbled into, in a very positive way. This means as a student you can keep moving forward at your own pace, make progress, and avoid feeling discouraged. We each must keep trying our best, as we have learned to say, ganbarimasu !

Chieko was sweet, patient, and organized. I felt very comfortable asking questions ranging from definitions to pronunciations to cultural implications. The first lesson focused on assessing my level, so I think it will only get better going forward.

Hey guys !! Whether you are a lover of Anime, Jpop or need to know Japanese for business or just to show your friends , you have reached the right person !! :) I have 15 years of experience when it comes to the Japanese Language. And I absolutely love it !! I can proudly say that I am proficient in the language. I can speak fluently , understand and write fluently in Furigana (Hiragana and Katakana) I've learned from courses, friends, programs, music, immersion, books etc, you name it I've done it and has had major success. I will teach in a fun and interactive way and we will build up from the fundamentals of words to complete sentences. You WILL be proficient and comfortable in Japanese in no time !
I have 12 years experience in teaching Japanese as a tutor. I also am a Native if English and now added ESL as a subject to teach, so any one interested in the English Language is welcome ! Occupation wise I am a Electrical Engineer Major, Entrepreneur, Author, Motivational Coach and Language Enthusiast. I am a firm believer that we really can do anything we put our minds too. My main focus and purpose is to HELP and add VALUE to as many lives as possible. I am solely interested in the progression and success of the student. It is my duty for me to teach you as much information on the Language in the most comprehensive way possible.
I'm originally from Long Island City, New York. I had a teacher of Japanese descent and she always brought her culture to the classroom. I was 10 years old, and I used to ask her questions about the way she
would dress and her mannerisms and she would tell me anything I wanted to know. The culture is where it began for me, but the language is what took me on a whole different level of mentality and understanding.
I began learning the language at the age of 12 from a Japanese friend. At age 14 I learned from online courses and music, it was so intriguing to me that I began self study. At age 17 is when my listening skills began to kick in. I was understanding not only music but some Anime, this is when it really got fun lol. At age 20, is when I reached advance speaking proficiency and was able to understand LIVE dialoge from Natives. I am now 27. I am excited to teach and speak fluent japanese to you guys so you can hear it in it's native form.
So Anthony why should I choose you to be my teacher?
#1 I am literate in Japanese, I speak proper and perfect English so you will understand me lol.
#2 I will talk to you in a relatable way, so you will not feel like you're in a boring lecture, Japanese is an exciting language, so you do not need to feel like you're preached to.
#3 I will make this fun and interactive, keeping you engaged from beginning to end, wanting to know more. Most importantly I will give you as much information in the time given, so you can leave knowing your money is well spent.
#4 Lastly I can teach you formal and informal Japanese. I will give you all the key components to the Japanese Language without the fluff. In most language instruction there are key things to know mixed with fluff. This is what makes students lose interest or get confused. There will be no fluff in my class, everything that I teach you will be a key component to your language learning success.
So what are you waiting for ? Your success starts here !! Let's do this !! :)
I am a native Japanese speaker and I love teaching! It's a joy for me to teach Japanese to students who are interested in learning about the language. I have been teaching Japanese for over 20 years. I do not just teach Japanese, I also teach you the culture if you are interested in learning about it. The Japanese culture has strong ties with the language. My philosophy of learning Japanese is through Immersion environment. I have my own technique that I show my student to improve their vocabulary, writing, speaking and listening. And mostly I make it fun! I received my AA from Japanese college from Hagoromo College in Osaka and MBA from university in the US. I had worked for various companies in the US. I tailor my lesson to each individual level and goal.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I love teaching especially language as I am passionate about language. I also speak Chinese and currently learning Spanish. I have been teaching Japanese about 20 years from the age of 2 to adults. I do not just teach but I also try to give you the culture/background of the Japanese language. I believe that helps for many people to master the vocabulary, listening, writing and speaking. I also have worked with companies of understanding about the business culture in Japan.
I teach students how to speak Japanese as it is spoken in Japan. Japanese is an extremely complicated language where there are many different ways to say one thing depending on the situation. Context plays a big role in Japanese and so does the pitch of each syllable and the flow of an overall sentence. A Japanese speaker may be able to understand a completely inarticulate sentence just based on context and pitch, therefore with poor pitch or flow, that person may assume a foreign language is being spoken and immediately give up on trying to understand. I focus my lessons on how to speak Japanese like a native Japanese speaker, so that a student can go to Japan and converse normally in practical daily life. This means we work a lot on pronunciation and casual conversation, and the student will learn to speak before they read, and to read before they write, as any native speaker of any language does. If the student prefers to focus on learning reading and writing for more artistic ...

It's first time for me that I teach somebody Japanese as a teacher. I've taught a lot of my foreign friends Japanese by taking about culture, travel tips and food. What I will do in my class would be having a daily conversation with me. How I studied English was I always asked questions like "what does this mean?" "how do you say this in English?" so in my classes ASK me questions about Japanese! I think it's the quickest way to learn languages :)
Hi my name is Yuna. I'm born & raised in Osaka, Japan and living in Fort Worth now. I studied English without any serious studying. I hate to break it to you, although it's not impossible to learn Japanese, it's also not necessarily easy. Japanese is a complicated language on many levels. First you need to learn how to converse, then you need to learn the specialized words. If you want to read in Japanese, then you need to learn Hiragana for indigenous words, Katakana for non-indigenous words, and …
