About Lauren
I'm a professional actor/musician in NYC, currently playing the Fiddler in the hit off-Broadway revival of The Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Oscar and Tony award winner Joel Grey (2019 Drama Desk Winner Best Musical Revival). I am available for in-home, online, and in-studio lessons, where I can teach violin, flute, singing, acting, and English (ESL).

I received my BFA in Acting from Boston University's school of theater. As a classically trained singer, violinist and flautist, I've been able to incorporate my musical talents with my career as an actress. I play a range of professional gigs, from churches to rock concerts to pit orchestras. I had the chance to travel around the US, performing in theaters around the country for the Broadway national tour of the tony-award winning actor/musician musical, Once! My range of experience h
elps me cater lessons to you and your specific needs.

I have been teaching music and theater for over 5 years, and two years ago I began teaching ESL to elementary students in Turkey. I fell in love with teaching English, and feel my training in theater and music helps me use different, exciting teaching techniques in our lessons. I am conversational in both Turkish and Spanish as well!

No matter if we're working on music, acting, or English, I'm incredibly committed to my students and want each lesson to be fun and motivational. I'm a patient, supportive teacher, and know that each student is unique and moves at his/her own pace! Please reach out to me, and I will be happy to answer your questions!

We love Lauren. She is making violin a great experience for our daughter (11 yrs old). She is very thorough and encouraging, and introduces interesting music that is fun and challenging for a beginner student. Our daughter says she can truly feel her own improvement, and is really happy to have additional lessons with Lauren, beyond what she receives in school. Lauren is flexible with scheduling and very reliable, and we intend to stick with her - and with the violin- for the duration!

Lauren is an awesome violinist. I worked with her in a show and watched her tackle many different styles of music, improvise with other musicians, and collaborate on new material. I would recommend her to anyone!

Lauren Thomas is an excellent musician with a tremendous amount of patience and a seemingly boundless supply of talents. As a fellow musician who has played professionally alongside Lauren, I have witnessed first hand her skilled mastery of both the flute and the violin -- as intuitive as she is technically proficient. Apart from her musical abilities, she's kind, fun and sensitive and would make for either a great beginner violin teacher or as an instructor for someone with intermediate skills looking to expand their abilities. Cannot recommend her highly enough! Whether you're seeking instruction in the flute or the violin, Lauren's the woman for the job.

About Hyojung
Hello, my name is Leann.

When I was 5 years old, I started my piano training in classical and jazz piano.

I studied Jazz and Pop Piano at the Post Modern Music Dept. at the very famous Kyung Hee University (in South Korea). This is the same school that produced pop stars like Rain, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, Primary, Big Bang’s GD and Daesung, TVXQ’s Yunho and Yoochon to name a few.
Since I was in College, I’ve been teaching pop and jazz piano to a variety of students, from beginner to the experienced, at all age levels. I understand every student is not the same, so I make it a priority to adapt my teaching style to match a person’s learning style to maximize the learning session.

While providing lessons to a variety of students, I joined multiple bands and jazz groups playing various genres such as, alternative rock, hip-hop, p
op, and fusion. In these groups, I played piano concerts, played for various video projects, and also multiple studio recordings.

After I graduated with my Bachelors, I wanted to develop my music knowledge as a jazz composer. Therefore, I prepared and studied hard, and was admitted to the very competitive University of Miami Studio Jazz Writing program which is top 3 in nation for music programs. Since then, I’ve made Miami my home. In addition to playing music, I have been teaching Korean to UM students in their Direct Independent Language Studies program.

In Miami, my music creativity has grown and I have met amazing musicians. From 2011 to the present, I have arranged, composed, and continue to perform in various fields.

I believe my various experiences will help me teach you to learn the piano in any style you choose. Doesn’t matter who you are, what your experiences are, I will guide you to learn the piano, whether it be for professional reasons or recreationally.

As I speak two languages English and Russian, I can teach both. Russian is my native language, so students can learn Russian from the native speaker. And that is the best way to learn foreign languages. I've been teaching Russian since 2010 and I use my own method, which is not like in boring books. Students have to get what they need to fill the gaps and go further. Who goes, he reaches the destination.

I am not only a native speaker of Polish, but also a proffesional teacher with a great experience of work with small and big groups, 4 years old kids, teenagers, adults, and 80 years old students ( by the way, bravo for Ms. Marie from Paris!).
I use the methods that are the best for you: traditional, based on PDF or ebooks, interactive exercises, quzilets, kahoots or just conversation - it is all up to you. You decide! I do my best - I build a curriculum, then I adjust and create the exercises. I plan the revisions and I keep you motivated and satisfied every time we meet.
You learn. This will be hard work and fun. Not possible? Check it!

I have been studying Polish with Agata for almost two years (once a week). She is an awesome teacher, very intelligent, fun and lively, full of energy and passion. Agata always prepared different types of exercises for me, so the lessons were never boring. She can find an individual way for every student, for example I had a hard time actually starting speaking in Polish with other people and Agata suggested to have more conversations and brought lots of interesting topics to discuss.
It was a great pleasure to be her student and I can't recommend her enough.

About Ronica
I started tutoring as a volunteer with the Ozark Literacy Foothills Project in 2012; I had one student I worked with for a year or so. In 2014, I became an Americorps member, and continued to work at the Literacy Project as an Americorps member. I took on more students, tutoring mostly adult ESL students. I enjoyed it, but struggled with feeling like the lessons were a little "dry". I realized that if I was bored, my students probably were, too. I started looking for creative ways to make the lessons a little more fun, and started making index cards for my students to take with them to study. I also used the cards for sentence building games, and started really focusing on grammar. The Literacy Project sent me to a few training sessions, and I learned how to make the lessons even more hands-on and relevant, and how to have the student do
most of the talking in class. My students had enjoyed my lessons before, but the effectiveness really took off when I applied what I had learned in my training!

After two years with Americorps, I left to go to India for five months. I took language lessons while I was there, and it really gave me some perspective on what it's like to have to learn a new language to get around and to be able to communicate with other people. When I came back, I realized that I really enjoyed helping people learn English; I enjoyed the relationships I built with my students, and I loved watching them start to understand a concept of English, and to have fun doing it! I realized that teaching English was something I wanted to do for a living, so I went for my CELTA certification, and finished July of 2018.

I firmly believe that you're not too old to learn, until you think you are. The youngest student I've tutored was sixteen, and most of my students were my age or older. I've tutored parents and grandparents. Everyone learns at different paces, but everyone is able to learn. If you are struggling with a concept, that's okay. We can go over it as many times as you need to, and if you find yourself getting frustrated, we can move on to something else, and come back to it later.

You can expect to be an active learner; you won't just listen to a lecture. You will get plenty of practice speaking and listening, and I will probably assign listening and reading homework to help seal in what you've learned. If you want, we can set "fluency goals", so you can see your progress.

I look forward to meeting you!

Whether you're trying to pass a class, converse and practice, or learn how to pick someone up en español, I'm your lady. I'm a Spanish language tutor, interpreter, and future Master in Nursing as a bilingual nurse, and can't wait to work with you!

I started studying Spanish late in life (at 18), but grew immensely in passion, technical ability, and fluidity when I moved to Costa Rica at 21. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish in 2013 and have lived in Latin America for a total of 3 and a half years since.

I was not naturally talented in the Spanish language when I started my journey. I got C's and B's in classes- messed up tests, struggled with conversation. The key to my success was making the language come alive for me! So- I took my lessons from the classroom and brought them into cooking classes, restaurants, bars, ani
mal shelters, volunteer opportunities, and other activities that speak to my heart. My goal with you will be to do the same. Let's make the language come alive for you or stoke that fire even more so you can achieve your language goals. I'm with you in this and can't wait to work with you!

Test Yourself: Masculine & Feminine Spanish Nouns
In English, every noun has a neutral gender. This makes it easy to learn, so you really only need to learn the new word and the learning stops there. In Spanish, on the other hand, every single noun is either masculine or feminine. This means that every time you learn a new Spanish vocabulary word, you need to learn its accompanying gender as well. This may appear confusing for beginners, but bear with me! Here are the general rules for determining masculine and feminine Spanish nouns
Omotenashi: Japanese Hospitality and Etiquette
