Hi! My name is Alessandro, and I have a degree in Italian modern literature from the University of Turin. Apart from being a native Italian speaker, I am also fluent in English. I believe the best way to learn a language is through conversation, you get to practice and have fun! I am married to an American and I got most of my experience teaching Italian and photography in London and Dublin. I have over 5 years experience teaching to all ages.

I was born in Italy and lived there for 36 years. I went to school there and I have a Bachelor Degree from one of the oldest Universities in Europe, the University of Verona. Before college, I attended the Liceo Linguistico, where I extensively studied Italian Grammar in connection to Latin, French and German. I can honestly say I master the Italian grammar in all of its structures.
I am professional, flexible and I strive to meet my students’ goals no matter what level that they are at. I plan, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to a range of age groups, levels, individual goals and interests. I myself speak 4 languages and studied Latin in addition to that, and I believe that exposure is the only way to really learn another language. This is why I use conversation on regular basis during my lessons, to make sure my students can actively use what they are learning with confidence, starting with simple phrases and then gradually build up to more complex ones.

I feel that learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular is about repetition and I ask my students to repeat everything I teach over and over again until they know it by heart. I keep my lessons simple to avoid overwhelming the students and to allow time for them to repeat what they learned earlier. I teach the words that form part of the so called core vocabulary; words that are chosen according to frequency and range (in the sense that they “occur across a wide variety of texts”) It is often said that the first 2000 most frequent words cover approximately 90% of the vocabulary used by native-speakers in daily conversations. This means that for a student they represent the basic resource to be able to communicate.

Ciao a tutti! Hello everyone! My name is Cindy and I'm Italian. I've been teaching Italian in schools and privately for many years now...I was raised in Rome where I have lived and worked for most of my life.
Do you want to learn Italian in a natural way, outside the bounds of a traditional language school? Studying a foreign language is an absorbing, complex experience.
It involves not only mastering new words, but also gaining a deeper understanding of the culture in which the language is rooted. To achieve this goal I devote all my enthusiasm, my skill at communication, and a sense of humor which makes for a relaxed study environment.
