My 35 years teaching Italian to all ages and levels are my biggest advantage! My students achieve outstanding results, improved grades and test scores with my unique and proven method . We focus on breaking down the language into manageable units of grammar and then putting it back together. From the very first lesson my students speak in full sentences, using what they have learned to build increasingly complex sentences. You will learn to express your own thoughts quickly and easily. See how much fun and challenging it can be to learn Italian!

Hi everyone ! Ciao a tutti, belli e brutti !
My name is Simone and I am a native Italian speaker, I have been teaching languages online for some time now and I have understood that every student has a different reason to learn a language, and that we all learn in different ways. So here I am to offer a personalized method to who wants to learn Italian. I use digital textbooks , audio-file , Italian podcasts, TPRs and I am open to any creative idea that comes from you. For me it is important that we both have fun in the process of learning and teaching.
Looking forward to see you as one of my students
Buona giornata

Ciao ragazzi!

My name is Molly Carroll (a very Irish name indeed!) and my family is a beautiful combination of Italy-dwelling Italians and Irish-Americans. I grew up spending long summers in Italy with our Nonno and Nonna (Italian for "Grandpa" and "Grandma"), where I was fortunate to be immersed in the language and culture from the time I was an infant.
In my classes I hope to share my passion and love for my home land in the North (Lombardia), as well as explore the rich variety of culture and history that Italy has to offer, as we learn a working foundation of the language. Maybe even Nonna's porcini risotto recipe!
I am excited to offer beginner Italian lessons to both adults and children, where the curriculum is adjusted accordingly.
If you are someone who would love to get started on having conversational Italian as a skill, you are in the right place! My lessons cover very basic grammar, but the focus is on vocabulary and developing the confidence to LEAP into the ...

Benvenuti! I've been bilingual (English and Italian ) since I was a baby- I was fortunate for that, and my parents made sure that I didn't miss out on the chance to learn Italian from our grandparents. My culture, language, and family have all brought me so much joy in life, and I would love to

Conversation is in my opinion the most efficient method for remembering words long term and also the best method to learn grammar without stress. I am an Italian native speaker and through my teaching style I intend to boost your motivation to continue learning.

About Simona

Practice makes perfect! My teaching style is based on language living rather than language studying, and while I will provide you with all of the tools to apply the correct grammar rules I encourage you to make mistakes, and learn naturally by being exposed to the language. I am 100% Italian native

I focus on using the language as quickly as possible. It is important to verbalize immediately. Grammar is very standard in Italian and I teach it, but reinforce it mainly through usage, spending most of the time on vocabulary and communication.

"I've been taking lessons with Sabrina now for almost a year. Our lesson location varies depending on our schedules, sometimes we meet at a local coffee shop, other times we meet virtually. Sabrina is a fabulous teacher, but she's also just a super great person. She has a great sense of humor and makes the challenge of learning a second language enjoyable and fun. "Delia is a great teacher. She has helped me understand what to expect in certain situations and how to ask for things. For example, when I go to order a drink in a special way, or when not to order certain things, etc. She is providing me with very relevant words and phrases that I will use a lot while visiting Italy. This is going to help me a lot. I'm looking forward to our next lesson!"

"I am a retired school teacher so I know good teaching when I see it.
Maria is excellent. First, her techniques for teaching grammar along with vocabulary, bit by bit introducing the nuances needed to put sentences together in the proper fashion get students learning several things at once without actually realizing how much is being absorbed. Second, she supplies useful handouts to supplement the text as well as a multitude of on-line sources. I have used them often.
Last, her personality is extremely helpful for me, a slow learner! Her love for two countries, two ways of life, shows through and her uplifting personality makes the learning process fun. Obviously she is teaching a language but she is also teaching something of the Italian culture. It is apparent she very much wants students to learn and is willing to help those who learn slowly as well as those who have a “knack” for languages. I recommend her highly."

"I enjoyed today, my first lesson with Delia. She asked questions and listened to the answers. I felt encouraged by her relaxed and flexible teaching style. She was patient. She waited for me while I took note. She repeated words and concepts that I didn't understand. We had created a learning plan, started to work on it. I feel hopeful I will finally be able to learn Italian. ;-)"

Italian Resources in San Diego

Are you thinking about taking Italian lessons in San Diego? Luckily, you live in the perfect location as San Diego is home to a large Italian population. From predominately Italian-speaking communities to cultural events and festivals, San Diego is a great place to practice and improve your Italian skills. After all, there’s no better way to improve your language skills than to immerse yourself in the culture. Below are some points of interest and events in San Diego that can help supplement your Italian lessons.

Little Italy Located in downtown San Diego, Little Italy is a bustling neighborhood filled with Italian restaurants, retail shops, art galleries, and more. Little Italy, which was once an Italian fishing neighborhood, is a great place to chat with Italian native speakers, learn about the culture, and dine on traditional dishes. We recommend attending the neighborhood’s farmers’ market (i.e. Mercato in Italian) which offers residents fresh produce and specialty items happening every Saturday. To ensure that the neighborhood maintains its Italian roots, there are several organizations, including the ItalianSanDiego (ISD) and the Little Italy Association (LIA), that aim to bring together all things Italian, including art, music, food, and festivals.

Italian Film Festival Speaking of festivals, San Diego is known for its array of film festivals, including the San Diego Italian Film Festival. Attendees can enjoy notable present and past Italian films, while hearing expert insights from various scholars and directors. In addition to showing films, the San Diego Italian Film Festival also throws several cultural events, including the CineCucina and Dine on the Docks, which celebrate both Italian film and cuisine. Watching films in which actors only speak Italian will help you better understand the language and learn the proper pronunciation of words. There’s no better place to learn the Italian language and culture than the San Diego Italian Film Festival!

Convivio Center The Convivio Center, located in Del Mar, is a place where residents can go to learn and celebrate all things Italian from food to film to culture. The center houses the Little Italy Heritage Museum, which regularly displays Italian-inspired exhibitions from native Italians. In addition, the Convivio Center offers several programs, including lecture series and workshops, in which attendees can learn about Italian science and humanities, music, and film. Attending such lectures and workshops will give you helpful insight into the culture and history of Italy. Channel your inner Italian and feel a part of the community at the Convivio Center.

Home to many Italian native speakers, San Diego is a great place to learn and practice Italian. So, what are you waiting for? Get started on your Italian journey by taking Italian lessons in San Diego.
