I am a graduate of Brown University with honors in Italian Studies and Performance Studies. I am a fluent speaker, having lived in Florence, Rome, and Sicily. I work with students to improve their understanding of grammar, their pronunciation, reading comprehension, vocabulary, conversation skills, and writing. I also have an extensive knowledge of Italian culture, history, and literature from my studies and research and am happy to share this with interested students. At Brown, I tutored students in the Italian Department through the dean of the college's tutoring center, and I have worked as a tutor with students of all levels in Providence and New York.

About Arianna

I teach students test prep, math, Italian, kickboxing, and theatre. From helping students in summer school math classes, to teaching individual and group kickboxing classes, to tutoring students of Italian language and literature, to working with high school test prep students, I have a deep passion for learning and for sharing knowledge.

As an actor, I have performed at Williamstown, La MaMa, and the Washington National Opera. I studied with faculty from Brown University, the Moscow Art Theatre, and the Barrow Grou

As a native Italian who has lived in several Italian cities including Rome for over 30 years, I have a comprehensive understanding of the Italian language and culture. Along with my knowledge and experience as a native Italian speaker, I also have over 20 years of activity as an educator, which allows me to tailor to the needs of my students. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping my students along their path of learning the Italian language.

About Andrea
Bassist and composer Andrea performs extensively within the improvised music scene, across a broad spectrum of genres. His instrumental tone, sensitivity and imagination, and melodic approach to a supposedly clumsy instrument brought him to perform and record with many established musicians. Based in New York City, his work as an instrumentalist and composer can be regularly heard at the top jazz clubs in the city and around the globe.

As a current faculty member of the New York Jazz Workshop, Andrea is a dedicated educator. He has taught master classes at the National Institute of Music and the National University of Costa Rica, at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey and at the Olav Duun Videregående Skole in Namsos, Norway. He also served as an adjunct professor at New York University, where he graduated in 2011 with a Master
of Music Degree in Performance with a Concentration in Jazz as a Fulbright scholarship recipient.

Rena was very clear, organized, and receptive to my input. She was also great in using her curriculum to support my learning process. I played some instruments growing up and always wanted to try piano but didn't try until college. I initially had some unrealistic goals for myself, and Rena was able to help me set some more reasonable ones while also making sure I was enjoying what I was learning. I can't recommend Rena enough; she's amazing!

I started taking piano lessons from Rena in my late 20s with absolutely no prior piano experience and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Rena is incredibly knowledgeable about both piano and music theory in general. She's a very patient teacher and has a knack for explaining complicated material on a level that a layperson can understand. I can't recommend Rena enough for musicians at any level looking to improve!

I feel that learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular is about repetition and I ask my students to repeat everything I teach over and over again until they know it by heart. I keep my lessons simple to avoid overwhelming the students and to allow time for them to repeat what they learned earlier. I teach the words that form part of the so called core vocabulary; words that are chosen according to frequency and range (in the sense that they “occur across a wide variety of texts”) It is often said that the first 2000 most frequent words cover approximately 90% of the vocabulary used by native-speakers in daily conversations. This means that for a student they represent the basic resource to be able to communicate.

About Stefania
I am Italian. I moved to Canada first and the US next in my thirties. I love teaching. I own a retail training and consulting company. I have taught Italian on and off over the years and have always loved doing it. I am very passionate about the topics I teach and have a clear understanding of the complexities of learning and most importantly remembering things that are new to us. Hence, my obsession with repetition and never move to the next lesson until prior ones are fully mastered. I use multiple tricks to make a lesson engaging, different and fun to attend.

My hourly fee accounts for the fact that I am available to give in person lessons (more effective than online), can accommodate a student's busy schedule and my hourly rate can be for one or more students at a time. So, if you have family of friends who can come with you which
would allow you to share in the cost, my fee does change and neither does the quality of my lesson.

About Pedro
I am an Opera Singer, currently based in the NYC area. I finished my undergrad in vocal performance at Universidad Central in Bogotá, Colombia and Master’s degree in music performance at the University of Denver.

The learning process is very different from one person to the other and this applies to languages, indeed. However, no matter what your pace is and what your goals are in a subject, my goal will always be making sure that you are learning something new every time, and of course, that you reach your goals in the process. Your process is personal and my job is to take the best from you.

Respect singing, I believe every person has a unique instrument, and no matter how easier or harder it could be for some people, anyone can develop his/her own instrument to the fullest!

I look forward to meet you and reach your singing and langu
