About Farobag
Music Director of the Chicago Philharmonia Orchestra since 1985, Farobag has also served as Managing Director of the University of Chicago Performing Artists Series from 1989 through 2002 and principal conductor of its resident professional ensembles. A skilled interpreter of Baroque literature as well, Farobag continues in his capacity as Artistic Advisor to the Baroque Masterplayers, a virtuoso ensemble that concatenates period performance techniques with modern instruments thus creating a unique voice within the realm of 17th and 18th- century repertoire.

A double graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester, Farobag studied under Anastasia Jempelis, a pioneer of Suzuki violin pedagogy in the United States. In addition to the Suzuki curriculum, he is also associated with the Royal Conservatory Music Devel
opment Program that sets a national standard of musical achievement in various fields.

Befitting his penchant for encouraging artistic interest amongst younger members of his community, Farobag is also the principal conductor of the Zoroastrian Symphony Orchestra that offers a unique mixture of young and seasoned professionals sitting side-by-side in a strictly professional setting. Since the year 2000, the ZSO has staged highly successful performances at various venues in Houston, Chicago, and Toronto. A New Year's eve performance in Los Angeles is scheduled for 2014.

Having also taken graduate-level coursework in educational psychology, mathematics, and philosophy at the University of Chicago, Farobag offers tutelage in various areas of elementary and secondary education as well as in SAT, ACT and GRE test preparation.

Additionally, as a certified Reiki Master, therapeutic and/or educational sessions are also extended to those who may be inclined to alternative healing techniques.

*** Lesson Details ***
Sheer technique is necessary but insufficient to play an instrument well. Aural skills, that include the study of functional tonality and voice-leading are important factors that impart musicality. This is of great import if the prospective musician wants the audience to truly enjoy his or her performance !

Whether it be the 3 Rs or preparation in the performing arts, a remarkable instructor must go well beyond the subject matter at hand and help imbue the student with a spirit of wonder that, in due time, will foster enthusiasm necessary for excellence.

A child emulates and learns to communicate in his or her mother-tongue through a supporting and nurturing environment. Likewise, a student needs to be sufficiently motivated to embrace learning in a familiar supportive manner.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lesson take place in the living room. Driveway parking. No pets.

*** Travel Equipment ***
None; I do expect a reasonably good piano / keyboard at a student's home.

*** Specialties ***
Traditional and Suzuki-based education. Performance and musicality training is open to all instrumentalists.

*** CD's***
Classical Energy, Triton Sound, TS 8501
Salut D'Amour, Triton Sound, TS 9014

Mr. cooper gives the gift of music, the learning of, the pure appreciation for the violin and its beautiful sound. I am a student who has loved this string instrument for many years and am fortunate to now have Farobag Homi Cooper as my teacher. He is guiding me to a higher level of playing then I thought I was capable of.

I've been playing a few instruments for 23 years, and finally decided to get into violin. Farobag made me realize that I know next to nothing about the violin, and there is so much to learn. I played only a few notes in my first lesson, but his instruction was worth every penny. I am very excited for the next lesson and look forward to learning everything I can from Farobag. Highly recommended.

About Cody
With my two Bachelor's degrees in Music Composition and Technology, I began tutoring students in piano, voice, and composition as it was part of my training. I also have experience writing and editing essays, books, and more for several independent clients. I have experience writing my own books as well. I have written two so far, but am getting ready to write a third. I am a copious editor and can catch grammatical and other errors with ease. This is why tutoring in English would be great for me.
I thought I would add basic math for those school-aged children that are having a little trouble with it in their classes.
Usually, I teach lessons in my home in Diamond Bar or online, but if the need arises, I could surely work out coming to the students' homes for one-on-one tutoring help. With me, most students click after a few lessons and
understand what they couldn't in the classroom. I help the students by teaching in innovative ways that will catch their attention more than standard teaching methods. Students should consider me for I can make learning fun and never a chore!

*** Lesson Details ***
I use a wide variety of techniques to sing, play piano and other instruments. Techniques include straight vowel singing (no words) to test how long to hold notes, using color to help people sight read, using improvisational techniques in order to play jazz, rock, classical and many other styles of music.
I use what they student has under his or her belt as a starting point to see what lessons we could start them on.
I also assist with online lessons to make transportation a thing of the past. If you've got a webcam or Skype, I can do long-distance lessons with you! So, I am here to help!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Alesis Recital Keyboard
Music sheets
Web cam
Mac computer (MacBook Pro)
Finale music notation software to help in composition and theory lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Music paper for away lessons.
Finale for composition and music theory lessons.
Can use macbook for more elaborate teaching or demonstration if need be.

*** Specialties ***
I do teach classical composition with specialties in ensemble and chamber music. I also specialize in songwriting for pop and other media.
I teach voice and vocal techniques of sacred choral and vocal music.
I teach classical and jazz piano and improvisation. I also have the distinction in being able to teach students with special needs or learning disabilities as I have a mild form of cerebral palsy and understand what students with special needs go through.

I have been signing since 1998, spending every chance I can among my Deaf friends and immersing myself in the language as often as possible. I received my BA in Music with a certification to teach at Lubbock Christian University in 1998. Working with Carla has been incredible! I had a minimal amount of ASL experience before starting lessons and Carla has helped me learn so much in such a short amount of time. She's wonderful at helping you to incorporate what she's teaching into conversations so you can practice using and understanding signs.

I was able to use my short 4 weeks of private lessons on a recent trip where I was able to have a lovely conversation with a member of the deaf community - thanks to Carla.

I look forward to continuing on and developing a much deeper understanding of ASL!

About Amelfi
I graduated from the Open University for Adults (Uapa) where I graduated a degree in foreign languages. Having gone to the University was a wonderful experience since I could see and experience what teaching really includes. I really enjoy not only what I learned but also how those great teachers touched my heart with their way of handling teaching. I try to do the same with my students by putting into practice all the experience I have acquired as a tutor and teacher over time. I like to work in an organized way, always having a lesson plan at hand before teaching, but the student comes first so my technique includes flexibility since every human being is different and therefore learns differently. I take what we call multiple intelligence theory very seriously since that helps me to adapt effectively to the learning system of my student
s. It fills me with great satisfaction to see the needs of my students full so I am always willing to give my best in every meeting with them.

In total I have more than ten years of experience as a teacher and tutor. My mother tongue is Spanish I consider myself totally competent not only with the language but also with the culture to guide those in that field. I studied English as a second language for three years in the Dominican Republic including a teacher training course which successfully trained me as an English teacher to teach children, teenagers and adults whose native language is Spanish. Additionally, I dedicate a large part of my time to volunteer work with deaf people in my community teaching Bible classes for free, I understand that being surrounded with deaf people for more than 7 years has given me the necessary skills to interact with them and guide them in whatever is necessary.

I will always be available to my students when they need it. Feel free to contact me. You can ask me any additional questions you have and I will gladly answer them. Let's get in touch!

I am a professional writer, photographer, business owner, and quality control, expert. I graduated from Santa Barbara University with a bachelors degree in Business Management and Strategy, with a minor in creative writing.

ESL students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual voice. I can help any student to speak with freedom, confidence, and expression.

As a child, I had a really difficult time learning how to read and write properly. If it had not been for a kind teacher and tutor, I would not have been able to graduate in time with the rest of my class. It is this same dedication, patience, and self-confidence that I strive to teach in my lessons to my students
no matter their age or background. If you have any questions or suggestions about my teaching style or schedule, please feel free to contact me at any time.

I am currently a SAHM mom, but I do have a side job through Shipt which I can create my own work schedule which is amazing for my family. I also officiate weddings for deaf couples. I used to teach ASL classes but that was put on hold so I can raise my kids but now that my kids are older, I have more flexibility in my schedule now to teach again.
