I am a native German speaker, born in Vienna, Austria to Nigerian parents. I have lived and worked in Nigeria, West Africa; London, United Kingdom; Waageningen, The Netherlands and currently work for a major United States Airline as a German speaking Flight Attendant. My background and life experiences have given me more exposure than the average person, and I am excited to help other people learn, expand their travel horizons and generally develop a sense of appreciation for different cultures and peoples.

Born and raised in Germany, Astrid has taught German to from beginners to advanced students in the last few decades at the Berlitz School in New York. Among her students are world renowned artists, musicians, businessmen, and anyone who has the passion and interest in learning the German language, from children to seniors. Having worked as a respected teacher in one of the world's premier language schools (where she was chosen dozens of time to be "teacher of the year"), Ms.Buob-Spector is able to increase her work with private students as well as online teaching. She is incredibly, kind, generous, skillful, and patient with her students, not to mention a unique way of teaching that immerse your mind into "thinking in German" from day one.

40 years of German language knowledge, having lived and worked in both Cologne and Berlin. I'm a certified teacher with a minor in German, having taught at all levels internationally.

Language is a passion of mine! I’m fluent in both German and Swiss German having lived and studied in Zürich, Switzerland for two and a half years. I teach all levels! If you know some German and want to get better at it, have never spoken a word in your life but want to learn, or just want someone to practice your German with, I’m more than happy to help you out!

German started in my extended family and has gradually become a central part of my life. First I studied German for five years in grammar school. Then I traveled to Germany multiple times, and hosted Couschsurfers from Germany and Austria. My nephews are being raised bilingual in English and German, and I have both native and second language German speakers in my nuclear and extended family. Having this broad perspective on how German fits in the landscape of international communication, I can adapt a students' education to fit their needs whether it be in mastering school skills or learning German for travel, work or to build relationships.

I can assist in beginning German or intermediate level of German. I am not completely fluent, but I studied it for many years throughout high school and college.
