Karen is a wonderful teacher. Very experienced and patient with a beginner.

Karen is so friendly, sweet, and methodical in teaching style. It is wonderful to be introduced to dulcimer with her and - literally - learn how to fine tune my instrument with her tips and encouragement. She makes me even more excited to tune and play my instrument. I can easily get happily lost simply in the tuning process with my dulcimer as it brings me a lot of joy just to hear the notes come into tune and playing very small, minor amounts of things on my dulcimer as is... it is so nice to have a guide like Karen to help me better to understand and dance with my dulcimer, learn about music and how the dulcimer strings are arranged, and how to hold the hammers! I thought I was excited to learn before... I'm even more happy and excited now and have some clear, down to earth steps to begin to actually really play with my instrument!

Self expression through art is an amazing experience. It's personal on all levels.

The most fabulous thing about being an artist is that boundaries regarding creativity are non-existent. The artist is always in a state of learning. Art is a progressive practice that takes time to develop. The students main objective is to learn, by drawing what the individual wishes to draw (personal projects that sparks and continues the creativity within).

Materials are not included.
Materials needed are pencil, paper and a willingness to explore.

Drawing lessons will be assessed based on the individual's current abilities and their goals.
Ages 9+

Note:
For virtual sessions, the student will need to create a conducive workspace that will allow teacher/student viewing of art work in progress. The student will need a workspace with lots of light. Often, I will ask to see the students progress, so that I may be able critique and give advise on their work in progress.

For short-term sessions ...

Rhea has taught professionally for over a decade, and strives to teach her students that violin playing is not just about technique, but also about learning the language of music and communicating artistic ideas through the violin. A native of Maryland, Rhea served as concertmaster of school orchestras, Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras, American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras, All-State, and All-Eastern. She is the first violin sectional coach of the Philharmonic, Symphony, and Young Artists orchestras of MCYO, and is proud to come full circle by nurturing the next generation of young musicians. Her students have served as orchestral section leaders of their respective schools and/or youth orchestras, and have earned scholarships from several music programs in the area.

At the age of twenty, Rhea made her solo debut with the National Symphony Orchestra, and has performed at some of the world's finest concert halls including Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Rhea studied ...

I was looking to learn the violin during the pandemic, and was fortunate to find Rhea. I've always wanted to learn how to play the violin so I can unwind my days with music after a demanding work schedule. She's taught me so quickly and thoroughly, and I've been able to learn my favorite pop and movie theme songs. She's been so flexible in accommodating in-person and online lessons depending on my needs.

My son has had many teachers, but none as attentive and detailed as Mrs. Rhea. For the first time, he is focused in his lessons, and he knows exactly how to practice. He even said, "I can't wait to be a violin teacher like Mrs. Rhea!" What a special thing to hear from my 8-year-old son. We're so grateful we found Mrs. Rhea.

"Please be advised of the following: Prajakta is an incredible Hindi instructor! I was rather apprehensive of not only taking the Hindi language but furthermore, I questioned my ability to grasp the fundamentals of the alphabet and the.structure of the sentences! Prajakta put my uneasiness at rest by using a method of ying and yang! For example, “Good, your pronounciation was very good!” “Beverly, why do we use the feminine ending? “ Well, not quite!” “Think about it!”
I love that kind of teaching. Prajakta engages in my journey of learning and that denotes a good teacher. Thank You!"

My son had no prior experience with the Mandarin Chinese language, and Guifang was able to introduce him to the language in a manner that did not leave him feeling intimidated about trying something new. "You won't realize you are learning - challenging and fun!!!!!

I have been working with Phillipe for almost two months. I started with a good command of the langague but needed to improve my fluency for my job. Prior to Phillipe I was completely stressed out with learning French and feeling like I would not succeed. He immediately put all those thoughts to rest, made learning fun, and took the time to understand my goals and how I learn best. He adapted his style to meet them. He made everyday fun and interesting engaging in lively debates and raising my speaking and comprehension levels without me even realizing it. He as a vast library of on-line resources that were great supplements. In two months my fluency increased dramatically, he really took me to the level I need.

Phillipe deserves high praise."
