My name is Maggie. I recently earned my Master's degree in string performance at Boston University. I have won many prizes as a soloist. As an orchestra musician, I have been playing for 10 years. I have been working as a music teacher for 9 years. I have taught violin, viola and beginner piano lessons. I love developing students love for music. I greatly enjoy teaching music students and sharing my love for music with them.
Because of my experiences and education, I am able to assess easily what each student needs and how to help them achieve their goals.

French is my second language, but it often feels as it if were the first, as I have been speaking it for many years on an everyday and professional basis. My grammar is excellent, as I learned the rules in junior high school in the Paris suburbs (grammar is an important part of French schooling). I edited a 240-page scholarly book, De La Case A La Villa (published 2014), and I give both private and group lessons.

My strong interest for languages oriented me towards a "Literature Baccalaureate" for which I studied - among other fields - German, English, Ancient Greek and Latin, and graduated Summa cum Laude in 2010. After high school, I went on to study for five years at Sciences Po Paris, France's elite school for social and political sciences.

Learning about the hidden history of words and the construction of sentences has always fascinated me, and I strongly believe that this is what makes the difference between a regular native speaker, and one who can actually transmit his knowledge of the language. Writing and speaking a proper french is not enough. When it comes to teaching, one has to be able to explain the "why" behind each word, idiom and grammatical rule, because that is how we remember best.
