Hallo liebe Studenten! Wilkommen ins Deutch Klasse! Welcome students! My name is Alex Boyt and I am a theatre artist so in addition to teaching acting classes, I teach german as well! I studied german for 3 years in high school, and another 3 years in between and at my undergrad. A good friend of mine in high school moved to my school from Germany and some of his family members only spoke german so I learned a lot more just through being around native speakers. I am conversationally fluent and have a strong foundation when it comes to grammar, sentence structure, and verb conjugation. Please let me know if you have any questions, I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi there!
My name is Cassandra. My journey as a German speaker started off simple.
I'm a native English speaker and I took German in college without knowing a lick of German beforehand.
I later studied abroad in Vienna, Austria, and fell in love with the place - so much so that I moved there the next year in 2016 after I became A1 certified in the German language.
While residing there, I taught piano privately to children who only knew German, as well as taught English to a family who only spoke German and French.
I went further and took a language exam from the ÖSD in Vienna and became a certified B2 speaker in the German language.
I believe languages are a wonderful thing - they help us understand one another and expand our minds - helping us to grasp concepts which may not exist in another language.
I am here to help you become the best German speaker you can be :).
About Cassandra

I grew up at the Northern tip of the Black Forest in Southwestern Germany and have spent most of my childhood vacations at my grandparents' in the Eifel region, close to the border with Luxemburg. Therefore, I got to grow up with standard German and two quite distinct dialects of German.
Once I started teaching German to refugees and did an internship in a university German class I started to become aware of the intricacies of German grammar and vocabulary and saw it with new eyes. Frankly, I may not be able to explain ALL grammatical phenomena, but it will be my pleasure to explore and expand my knowledge of German with you.
We can discuss what life in the German-speaking world is like, explore German literature and music, and along the way have a look at the grammar, vocabulary and prosody you may need to talk about those things.
Los geht's! :)

Wolfgang is very patient, flexible and understanding. He has adapted his lessons to best fit my way of learning. This is no simple task in itself. But Wolfgang has found a method of teaching that goes well beyond words and phrases. It strengthens my understanding of the culture. This is critical to successfully comprehending any language.
Wolfgang is a true Linguist. His expertise is far-reaching, not just in syntax or morphology, but in the history from which the language is born. This knowledge is indispensable and cannot be found elsewhere."
