I've spent about 2 years in Germany and consider myself fluent in the language, which includes reading, writing, and speaking.

About Jane
I am a graduate of Lawrence University with a BA in Music (Piano) and German. I've played piano for more than 20 years, but in college performed more with voice. In college as a BA candidate I was able to take a variety of lessons, including classical piano (my major), jazz piano, classical voice, and jazz voice. One of my favorite projects in college included a recital comprised of all the types of music I love playing and learning about such as a solo piano piece, a few piano duets, a piece where I sang and accompanied myself, a vocal jazz small group, and a few others.

Taking lessons with me I can teach you specifics on classical voice or piano and jazz voice or piano, but we can also work on combining them!

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons with me will be laid-back but focused. Each student will receive an individualized curric
ulum based upon their needs/wants from their lessons. Believe me, I've had some bone-dry teachers in the past, and if you're not having fun and liking what you're doing, you're most likely going to forget the lesson you just had. We're going to learn by having fun and doing what I love most!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music room, full-sized live-action keyboard, two chairs and bench, mirror, room for parents wait

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students need to have a piano or a full-sized keyboard on which to practice or have lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Personally I am interested in many different genres of music (classical voice, jazz voice, classical piano, jazz piano, accompanying), and in college I was able to take many different kinds of lessons to fulfill my needs. As a result, I feel very comfortable teaching others about all sorts of different genres of music.

Jane is VERY patient and super fun! Our daughter is a tough cookie, but she absolutely adores Miss Jane and has done her best piano work since starting with her. I highly recommend her! And the ability for lessons to be in the home is just beyond convenient.

We had our first lesson with Jane last night. Lily is a tough cookie, but Jane handled her REALLY well. Also LOVE having the lesson in our home. With our busy schedules, it's nice being able to keep my daughter in lessons but not have to trek her to a school.

We're looking forward to a long relationship with Jane (hopefully)!

*****Each Online Lesson with Free Video & MP3 Recording*****

My emphasis is on a dialogue-driven and comparative introduction for the language to draw out a common ground and familiarize possibly daunting differences. I also enjoy asserting that German is often underestimated as a rewarding second language to study.

I taught German in the language lab of a community college, for special needs students, and for private agencies, such as Creative Support, Berlitz Languages, and Tutor Doctor.

I grew up bilingual English and German, attending an international school from a very young age. I attended, also, a German public secondary school, where I earned a diploma, and I completed German credits at the college level.

I have experience teaching German literature, elementary German, and German grammar. I lived in Germany for over 18 years. Possibly the only dedicated PhD for E-Learning on the TakeLessons server, I am member of the Association for Language Learning, located in ...

My style and attitude toward teaching is a balance between subject delivery and reflective, supportive interaction. I seek to enable current research on education for busy, yet goal-driven student interests. This is done through customized online lessons coordinating the experience with optimal resources and tools. Examples are helping ESL students to monitor their own phonic issues with dedicated software/feedback, guiding German students through conversational dialogues, and ta

Due to my limited funds, I do not have direct experience with the Adobe suite, but I have extensive knowledge of related, free distributions that are transferable. Erol is really nice and a great teacher. He understood what we needed to work on right away. I also like the software that he uses during his lessons, it makes it easier to understand where I'm mistaking pronunciation.

German was the first language I learned in high school, and I am very attached to the beautiful sound of it. While others think of German as harsh, I know it as the musical speech of a friendly and wonderful people. I very much enjoy sharing it with anyone who is interested in the challenge and the reward!

About Luke
I am deeply passionate about sharing knowledge with others and have been lucky to be teaching my entire adult life. There are so many enriching experiences available to us when we learn more about the world.

Foreign languages are among my favorites, and I have specialized in teaching Latin, Italian, and Japanese. As a geologist, I am also profoundly interested in the sciences. When I teach I like to understand where my students are coming from, what really inspires them, and help them to enjoy and love what they want to learn. For me, learning is always fun, so whether you like to study or you are having trouble motivating yourself to concentrate, together we will discover the joy and fun in what you are studying.

I have instructed over one hundred students in private German courses. I routinely exceeded student retention expectations. In a period of eight months, my efforts doubled the number of students enrolled in the German language program, through my professional and effective teaching.

About Valentina
• Russian native speaker
• Professional proficiency in English and German
• Familiar with Romanian and Turkish language
• Experienced instructor
• Able to plan and organize a classroom curriculum
• Able to communicate and coordinate with a wide range of individuals

Hello, my name is Valentina. I'm a Russian and German teacher.

German

I specialize in teaching German at the High School level. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in German and spent a year working and studying in Munich, Germany. I then found work in a private school and instructed over one hundred students. I have since continued tutoring individually specializing with online lessons.

My goal is to improve my students’ language skill through conversation and I push my students to speak German from the first lesson. I believe this helps students gain fluency an
d lose their fear of making mistakes while speaking. No one can be perfect in a month but the student needs to be comfortable enough with grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation so that they can communicate in German and improve through conversation and dialog.

My youngest students were 6 years old and I have also taught older students. I enjoy working with children and am fascinated by how quickly young students can learn and grasp languages. Especially when learning is incorporated in a game where a student can passively learn to use new vocabulary as a tool to win a game among others. I am very grateful for all my students and the wide variety of experiences that I have had interacting with them.

Russian

I am an experienced language teacher. My experience is teaching German as a second or third language to Russian and Romanian speakers, but since I am a native Russian speaker I can use what I have learned teaching German to teach Russian.

My teaching philosophy is to learn through practice. Everyone makes mistakes and part of learning a new language is overcoming the fear of making mistakes and being willing to work through errors to convey an idea or thought. People learn a language best when they use it as a tool to achieve a goal.

I am a native Russian speaker and I have studied Russian since elementary school. I graduated from Chishinau university, where 40% of the courses are taught in Russian including Russian grammar and literature. I have taught private courses as a German teacher, to Russian speakers, and therefore I have experience explaining Russian grammar and conversation. I have a deep appreciation for Russia’s literary heritage and am constantly reading classic Russian texts.

I have experience teaching online Russian language to English students. My materials are adapted to English speakers and my beginner students are excited and able to engage in Russian small talk within 6-8 lessons. My lessons are efficient, well planned and productive.

I’ll teach you spelling and grammar rules, I’ll extend you vocabulary and we will always be practicing and reviewing previously learned the material. I help encourage my students to study Russian. With me, you will smoothly move from a beginner to more advanced. I create a low stress and efficient learning environment.

I enjoy working with children but also find it rewarding to work with motivated adults. I am looking forward to working with you.

I have lived and worked in Germany throughout my life in addition to studying German and German literature academically and professionally. I am also a superglot which means I speak more than ten languages fluently. I know how to learn languages and how to teach others to quickly and confidently acquire a language.

I teach using a heavily modified Michel method (the method the US State Department uses to teach diplomats foreign languages in weeks) based on the most recent scientific findings about how we acquire language and my 25+ years of learning literally dozens of languages.

This isn't just a lesson with some stock phrases you repeat and then try to remember. Using conversational techniques, you will start learning to speak German comfortably from the first day. Whether you want to be conversational for business, or improve your German to an academically high standard, I can help you realize your goals and become fluent in German in no time.

About Greg
Learning a language by memorizing long lists of words and phrases is BORING for both of us! I work with YOU to come up with the right way to learn a language to meet your goals and your skill level. I incorporate games, songs, current events, and unusual texts to help you remember what you read and hear.

You have the innate ability to learn a language. It's not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. Even babies do it! All kidding aside, the ability for an adult to learn a foreign language is actually BETTER Than a baby's. Think about it. Babies takes YEARS to be able to put together full sentences. In your first lesson with me, you'll learn at least one sentence perfectly - AND NEVER FORGET IT!

I teach a combination method that uses neurolinguistic programming, proven recall techniques and exercises (they're really games and songs a
nd puzzles and fun stuff) that are updated with everything we know about learning a language (And some stuff that I've figured out for myself after 30 years of language learning!)

You'll love learning with me as much as I'll love learning with you!
