I have been teaching Italian for 5 years now, I have traveled to Italy numerous times spending time with Italian-only speaking families and I enjoy talking about almost anything Italian. If you are looking for lessons and you are just beginning or have been speaking for some time I would love to help you improve your knowledge of the language to become a fluent speaker.
Hello! Hola! Benvenuto! My name is Christopher S. and I am a classical guitarist, composer, polyglot, and experienced language and music teacher.
I am a recent graduate with a Doctorate of Music Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. I also graduated with my M.M. fro the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. There I studied with the world-renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk who is a direct student of the legendary guitarist Andres Segovia.
Currently, I work part-time teaching 12 students guitar at the University of South Carolina, in Columbia. I also teach ukulele, Spanish, Italian, and English to a variety of students online. I have also just completed my debut album titled, "Anima - The Music of Spain and Italy for the Guitar." This album is a tribute and memorial to an amazing journey I had traveling and living
in Europe for 3 years.
After I graduated from my undergraduate degree, I realized that in order to better my skills as a musician and become the guitar teacher I wanted to be I had to travel abroad. I moved to Seville, Spain where for three years I studied the art of classical and flamenco guitar.
I studied with an internationally known Spanish guitarist named Francisco Bernier at the Conservatory in Seville. During this time I was also teaching English as a second language to high school and middle school students. From traveling and spending so much time in Europe, I also developed and studied my love of languages and I became fluent in Spanish and Italian.
The experienced was an experience of a lifetime and I made many friends working and living abroad that to this day, I still keep in contact with.
If you are interested in having lessons with me, please contact me and we can begin learning the art of making beautiful music or learning the beautiful languages of the Mediterranean! "Hasta pronto!" "A presto!" and "Speak to you soon!"
As a native Italian who has lived in several Italian cities including Rome for over 30 years, I have a comprehensive understanding of the Italian language and culture. Along with my knowledge and experience as a native Italian speaker, I also have over 20 years of activity as an educator, which allows me to tailor to the needs of my students. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping my students along their path of learning the Italian language.
Bassist and composer Andrea performs extensively within the improvised music scene, across a broad spectrum of genres. His instrumental tone, sensitivity and imagination, and melodic approach to a supposedly clumsy instrument brought him to perform and record with many established musicians. Based in New York City, his work as an instrumentalist and composer can be regularly heard at the top jazz clubs in the city and around the globe.
As a current faculty member of the New York Jazz Workshop, Andrea is a dedicated educator. He has taught master classes at the National Institute of Music and the National University of Costa Rica, at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey and at the Olav Duun Videregående Skole in Namsos, Norway. He also served as an adjunct professor at New York University, where he graduated in 2011 with a Master
of Music Degree in Performance with a Concentration in Jazz as a Fulbright scholarship recipient.
I am truly happy to have chosen Andrea as my teacher. Not only he has an intelligent approach on how to introduce and teach the Italian language, he is also very polite, friendly and accommodating. It’s a real pleasure to learn from him!

I had my first English lesson with Andrea and it was very useful for me. I think that he pointed on my problem. He's a keen observer.

Andrea is the best. He's personable, prompt, flexible yet clear, a pleasure to work with. He has given weekly Italian lessons to me and my wife in our home. We can't recommend him highly enough.
I was born in Italy and lived there for 36 years. I went to school there and I have a Bachelor Degree from one of the oldest Universities in Europe, the University of Verona. Before college, I attended the Liceo Linguistico, where I extensively studied Italian Grammar in connection to Latin, French and German. I can honestly say I master the Italian grammar in all of its structures. I have been working in Customer Service for an American Bank in Italy for the last 10 years. In addition to that, I have been tutoring students of different ages, Elementary School all the way to High School, since I was in college. The subjects I covered were for the most part English, Italian and Math. I was also tutoring adults who wanted to learn English as beginners or improve their conversation skills. I loved my job at the bank, but at the same time there was nothing more satisfying than seeing my students succeed: I have always enjoyed helping people improve their communication skills and improve ...
I was born and raised in Vicenza, an hour west from Venice. My husband is American, we met in Italy and after living together there for 15 years, we decided to move back to the US last Summer. We have two kids, 7 and 4, who are perfectly bilingual. I have always enjoyed teaching English to little kids and adult friends in Italy, so I can only enjoy teaching Italian even more. Although I'm enjoying this adventure in the US, I miss my country tremendously and teaching and speaking my own language is one of the things that excites me the most. I have also travelled Italy and most of Europe extensively, and I love discussing about all the different cultural environments that I've experienced.
I feel that learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular is about repetition and I ask my students to repeat everything I teach over and over again until they know it by heart. I keep my lessons simple to avoid overwhelming the students and to allow time for them to repeat what they learned earlier. I teach the words that form part of the so called core vocabulary; words that are chosen according to frequency and range (in the sense that they “occur across a wide variety of texts”) It is often said that the first 2000 most frequent words cover approximately 90% of the vocabulary used by native-speakers in daily conversations. This means that for a student they represent the basic resource to be able to communicate.
I am Italian. I moved to Canada first and the US next in my thirties. I love teaching. I own a retail training and consulting company. I have taught Italian on and off over the years and have always loved doing it. I am very passionate about the topics I teach and have a clear understanding of the complexities of learning and most importantly remembering things that are new to us. Hence, my obsession with repetition and never move to the next lesson until prior ones are fully mastered. I use multiple tricks to make a lesson engaging, different and fun to attend.
My hourly fee accounts for the fact that I am available to give in person lessons (more effective than online), can accommodate a student's busy schedule and my hourly rate can be for one or more students at a time. So, if you have family of friends who can come with you which
would allow you to share in the cost, my fee does not change and neither does the quality of my lessons.
Stefania was a great teacher, full of energy and encouragement. She customized the lesson plan for our needs (traveling to Italy, and wanting a crash course in conversational Italian). She made the learning fun, and even made the grammar piece (the hardest part of Italian) go quick! I feel motivated to study for our next lesson, and look forward to it.

Great first lesson! We're building a house from the foundation up!
I'm a Certified Interpreter in Italian (along with Romanian, French, Spanish, and Portuguese) by the Defense Language Institute Monterrey, California. Since middle school I loved foreign languages which proved to be very rewarding starting with high school when traveling around the world with shooting competitions.
Study groups are welcome at a special rate. Living in Italy and traveling countries on five continents allowed me the affinity of learning more about the culture but also develop preferences for myself.
I guarantee results.
Learning any foreign language opens doors in life whether on personal or professional level, and I sincerely believe that anybody can learn anything disregarding their age; in fact, I have friends who late in life decided to learn foreign languages or various skills that they always wanted to learn, so, I encourage you to do the same.
Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teaching me that age is just a number and that learning can happen any day if we choose so. R is a medical doctor, a psychologist, a chemist and biologist. Words can't even define how great of a man he is and how grateful I am to learn from him, too. For instance, about a famous language called "esperanto", a language created in the late 19th century.
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested studen
t who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).
I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.
I believe in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.
I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages (and proper grammar rules which highly reflect on one's education) by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration and health.
I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.
Hi everybody, I am a native Italian speaker and speak English and Spanish. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology of Marketing and Comunication and I have tutored children and adults at different age levels for the past 5 years. My approach is communicative and believe that the best way to learn a new Language is applying that to real-life situation: a language is first of all culture, travel, food, and everyday life. So if you want to focus on both grammar or conversation, or if you want to study Italian for work or just for fun, with my lessons you'll always learn something new about Italian culture!
Hi everybody I'm Anna, i'm Italian and I live in California from 13 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology of Marketing and I have been teaching Italian for the past years.
I teach Italian language to speak with confident and clarity. I'm specialized in teaching grammar and I push my students to speak Italian as much as possible during the lessons in a friendly atmosphere. This is a great way to improve or learn Italian in a reasonable time frame.
I love to travel, to teach and to cook Italian recipes for my friends and family!
Anna does a great job of integrating cultural factors and practical application in to our lessons. I really appreciate her enthusiasm and positive attitude. She is very patient and has great attitude .

I am fully Italian and grew up here in Miami so I speak English and Spanish fluently as well. I can give lessons from English and from Spanish to Italian.
Hi! I am a singer/songwriter and actress.
I am graduating from Berklee College of Music, after studying at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami for 3 years (I majored in Music Business with a minor in song writing).
I just moved back to Miami from living in Los Angeles for 2 years to write and record my EP. During my time in LA, I also furthered my training in acting for film and songwriting. I also shadowed videographers in LA and learned how to film and edit videos, which is why I opened a vlog channel to support my music.
I have been performing ever since I was a child. Some of my most important performances include: performing duets with Phil Collins both in Miami and in Switzerland, singing the National Anthem at the Heat Quarterfinals in 2013, being on THE VOICE in Italy, performing my original songs at a Phil C
ollins foundation in Paris, being the opening act for the United Nation's International Year of Youth in New York City, and performing the National Anthem at the Miami Open.
I speak and sing in 3 languages - English, Spanish, and Italian. I am originally from Rome, Italy.
I am completely aware of all musical genres, and especially what is current at the moment. I encourage students to bring in whatever music they feel is best for them and also challenging. Being a songwriter, I persuade students to bring in their own songs (if they write) so that we can work on the songs and most importantly, performing them. My main goal is that students become great performers, while primarily having mastered their technique for their vocal health and longevity.

While in-person Italian lessons can be extremely valuable, some people simply lack the time and money to schedule regular sessions. In this case, learning Italian online is a great option.
