I feel that learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular is about repetition and I ask my students to repeat everything I teach over and over again until they know it by heart. I keep my lessons simple to avoid overwhelming the students and to allow time for them to repeat what they learned earlier. I teach the words that form part of the so called core vocabulary; words that are chosen according to frequency and range (in the sense that they “occur across a wide variety of texts”) It is often said that the first 2000 most frequent words cover approximately 90% of the vocabulary used by native-speakers in daily conversations. This means that for a student they represent the basic resource to be able to communicate.

About Stefania

I am Italian. I moved to Canada first and the US next in my thirties. I love teaching. I own a retail training and consulting company. I have taught Italian on and off over the years and have always loved doing it. I am very passionate about the topics I teach and have a clear understanding of the

"Francesca is a wonderful and intelligent tutor! I was gifted Italian lessons and Francesca did everything to make my lessons fun and she tailored them exactly to my needs. Not only is she a great teacher, correcting me during our Italian dialogs which I very much appreciated, but she is a great person to get to know. Lessons became more of a meeting with an Italian friend then strict grammar lessons which is exactly what I wanted. My Italian definitely got better with Francescas tutoring. I will forever stay in touch with Francesca and continue to improve my Italian language with her."
